      Well down for those of us who are do it your selves types. Now here are a few tips : wear gloves anti freeze is toxic, clean off your battery terminal ( brush and a cleaner ) and replace your A/C cap on your line .
      Cheers 🍻

      Yes, you are absolutely right about the gloves 😬… I try to use my gloves as much when I’m working with fluids. Thank you for your comment and for your support.

      Nicely done. Yes, Rock Auto has the best prices and also for OEM parts. I don't get tired looking at the new green coolant on my truck 😎...

    The reason you have to flush so many times is because you can't get all the water out of block? Or can you? Can you run the motor while draining to get all the water out at once? If you use 50/50 you don't want water in your system, correct?

    • @RookieRepairs
      @RookieRepairs  2 роки тому +1

      If I’m not mistaken I do say that in the video- run it for 5-10 mins. (Careful it will be warm/ hot) and after drain coolant: continue process until coolant is cleared/ clean. Yes, if you have 50/50 don’t need to add distilled water- Ford dealer only had concentrated coolant so I had to used 50/50 distilled water and coolant.

    Flushing a 7.3 about 7 times now and its still rusty. Would like to see it somewhat clean before dumping 8 gallons of coolant into the system.

      Keep pouring distilled water until it is clean- I had to repeat this process a few times. Turn on your heater so it can get all your dirty coolant on your heater core. Best of luck.

      You can also raise the rpm to get the water pump moving quicker

    How much coolant total did you end up using total in final fill?

    I thought you had to use distilled water

      Yes distilled water is the best option- when flushing and cleaning your cooling system. Distilled water can be purchased at Smart-Final, Food Max or any grocery store. I did used distilled water when I flushed my coolant. Thank you for your comment, I will be adding that to the description.

    Great job flushing. But never good idea to use a thermostat that is not from dealer. In this case motorcraft thermostat.

      Yes, you are right, but unfortunately Ford didn't have the thermostat on stock so I went with this aftermarket thermostat... Best of luck on your truck.
