- How to Install Dr.Prepare's 8000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner (for Sliding Windows):
1. Connect hose connector to exhaust hose.
2. Connect adapter to exhaust hose.
3. Install the window bracket kit. Fits window lengths ranging from 25.6~67 in (65~170cm).
4. Slide the hose connector into the appliance.
5. Connect the adapter to the window bracket kit.
6. Manually open the air outlets shutter and adjust the airflow direction as needed.
7. Turn it on.

Does it have to have the back part? When we bought it at Home Depot they just had it free standing.
Portable air conditioners need back part accessories primarily for proper ventilation and efficient operation.
1) Exhaust Hose: The most critical back part accessory. Portable ACs work by pulling in warm air, cooling it, and then releasing the cooled air into the room. The excess heat generated during this process needs to be expelled outside the room; otherwise, it would counteract the cooling effect. The exhaust hose vents this hot air outside, typically through a window.
2) Window Kit: To connect the exhaust hose to the outside, a window kit is necessary. This kit includes panels or adapters that fit into your window opening, allowing the hose to vent the warm air outside without leaving gaps for air to leak back in.
Are u allowed to use it without the holes?like will it make any difference?
If you want to use the portable air conditioner without the hose, you can. However, the hot air produced by the device will accumulate in the room, reducing cooling efficiency. For optimal cooling, we recommend using the hose to vent the hot air outside.
If your window has a screen in it, can you leave the screen in when you attach the window bracket kit for venting?
To ensure a proper and secure fit for the window bracket kit, we recommend removing the screen from your window before installation. Leaving the screen in place might interfere with the venting process or prevent a tight seal.
