You are correct about the bags denting and such with only a bit of use. When we were selling these bags I would always point that out to potential customers. Sometimes it was a deal breaker and more often than not it wasn’t. There’s a few ways to look at this. Firstly all bags will scratch and dent regardless of which material they are made from. Secondly, they are aluminium so some dents can be beaten out. Thirdly the dents give them charm and make them uniquely yours. In light of them denting and scratching they do tend to outlast just about everything else. I had a client who gave me a 45 year old ZH suitcase that I used as a display. He retired and didn’t need it anymore. He was a person that traveled internationally for many months of each year that he owned the bag. It was dented and scratched, but still good enough to travel with.

The locks have no side guards. THey will be the first things to get knocked off.
That’s not our experience. We sold those cases for 15 years and handled repairs and warranty work and never had to repair one of those
