      Dealers rarely admit and stand behind their mistakes. I took my Mercedes to the local Dealer, to repair a squill in a brake rotor and no brake pressure. After being at the dealer for over a month. I got the car back. I drove it very little. Within a few weeks. The brakes failed again and I could not communicate with the ABS, Nor would the AIR suspension Raise in the car. I called the service Tech who took the car in and explained the issue. He never got back to me. That told me a lot about this Mercedes Dealership. The Name of the Dealership is: Sears Imports of Minnetonka, Minnesota. My Bill when I received the car for the work they were supposed to have done, was $2900.00. I have not driven the car since the new issues.

      Mistakes happen, of course however they aren't going to admit to it.....
      But anyone who works on a multi million dollar car isn't allowed to make that kind of fuk up! They had the vehicle for MONTHS and just shrugged their shoulders and said "we want it out of our shop"...... There's no excuse that it wasn't found within the first couple hours of diagnostics! (If that was the case, I'd classify it as a mistake, this was a complete utter fuk up.... During writing this however it just clicked in my head, there is a real good chance that it could have been brought to them incorrectly.... HOWEVER either way, it should have been found immediately since the service tech performed work right there!
      Also let's not let Bugatti slide from piss poor design and engineering on that gem!

      As someone who works on VAG vehicles like porsche, Lamborghini, audi, it makes sense the harness is the same, but the length of harness is the give away. Plus, if they had the factory scanner hooked up, how did they not see the fault for short to ground that would definitely be there? Yikes, hopefully he was able to recoup some money from that obviously over sight. Completely unacceptable on the bugatti shop

    • @commonsenseisdeadin2024
      @commonsenseisdeadin2024 2 місяці тому

      @@Magus2222 would it show a short to ground if you hook the input in the out terminal and the output in the in terminal?
      Honest question as I wouldn't know because NO OTHER manufacturer would be stupid enough to design their terminals that way for a module that way!
      But given the fact they did (Alas....) I wouldn't in the least bit be surprised if they also didn't write a code for a module to communicate to the can bus in the even of the 2 were swapped around..... (Probably because they themselves didn't think it could even be a possibility!
      (Honda came close as they made all the sensors under the intake of 90s civics have the same connectors.... Which wouldn't really be an issue if it wasn't for the fact every single one of those cars ended up being molested to no end! 😂)

      @Andrew_kiwi_AF not really, most of it has been replaced or reconditioned, so practically a new car. I get that a lot of the body panels and engine are still the same but they have been resprayed and cleaned up. Many of the ancillaries and fittings are all new.

    • @dandreurquhart3511
      @dandreurquhart3511 2 місяці тому +2

      This isn’t anything new I believe in a previous video years ago they had said the car was done but something Bugatti wouldn’t sell them like a bolt or filter of some kind and if they ran the car at some point the engine or something would blow

    • @commonsenseisdeadin2024
      @commonsenseisdeadin2024 2 місяці тому +5

      @@dandreurquhart3511 the reason he didn't upload it real time was because he wanted to sell the series to a network. (More to it than that but...) He mentioned it in another video.
      I don't recall exactly but it really started just to document progress for reference, also I think it really started for video evidence of what the seller lied about and parts they didn't send that were in the sellers included "list" (I'm not sure if there was any legal action taken/attempted).
      I'm really surprised he bought as much as he did from Bugatti, but I think it was at the mercy of time. The prices are ridiculous to say the least, he knows that and let it be well known, but of course the parts are going to be astronomical even for the smallest of things, when you're selling the complete car for absurdly more than it costs to build, you can't sell the parts for just a minute mark up, otherwise one could just buy all the parts and assemble it themselves for a fraction of what it costs to buy one complete! I understand that you're not only paying for what 1 car or that part costs but also the research and development, design and engineering, manufacturing, shipping and overhead ECT. ..... But the rarity and status, the name and ego boost too!
      Bugatti had to be diligent not to utilize existing parts they already use, well not exact versions anyway! I bet A LOT of the parts are simple surface changes but internally are unchanged..... A different housing/casing isn't that costly, a small change in 1 die or mold/casting is nothing compared to creating a completely new part or redesigning circuitry. From something so simple as extending leads or changing the connector plug will deter over 99% of people from modifying an existing and significantly cheaper part or even knowing they really are exactly the same where it actually matters! (The wiring on the other hand, I can't believe he purchased from Bugatti when he had all the old harnesses already! New wire and pins/terminals are cheap and easy, there are plenty of specialized wire harness shops that would have easily cloned a new harness and transferred connector housings.... Probably would have been nicer looking and without a doubt better quality! (Like if it decided to go for a dip in the ocean again, the wiring wouldn't be of concern!) The cost is in mapping out the runs-figuring out the length and where to split off. For it to be neat and serviceable!(You know, make sense 😂)..... All that of which was already done!
      Oh and the cost of already existing/pre determined connectors are outrageous! Again, already had!
      I'd love to know the total investment into this car, how much out of pocket and hours (not only the hours he paid for but he put in too, not just labor but research) obviously he didn't just return it to stock, but was it still worth it in the end? (Knowledge learned aside! Also not including any money made unless it was simply selling used/old parts..... Which I doubt he did, I think a lot of it will be rebuilt/upgraded)

    Make more Bugatti videos this series was sick! I never seen a modified Bugatti before anywhere online it would be cool to really mod this thing out. Like the exhaust it would have been cool to see more detail on that it was just on one episode to the next no footage.

    I’m stunned for multiple reasons in this one video. From the connectors, to the build being done 2 years ago and we just are now watching this lol.
