Narrator talks too much. Needs more the stars' dialogue
@@cattleyaaida1809 I so agree. It’s maddening
Claire Foy
All of them ❤
ALL WE HEAR IS THE ANNOYING SOUND AND ACCENT OF THE NARRATOR. SERIOUSLY A FAILURE, TRYING TO LISTEN TO THE ACTORS, THE POINT OF THE VID. 🙄
Erin as Princess Anne was bang on. The inflections and poshness. Perfection.
It's SCARY how much Elizabeth Debecki looked like Diana
Omg fr
I don't think so at all
There is no similarity. Even a little bit
I thought she was actually too thin .
I thought Claire Foy and Olivia Coleman nailed their roles perfectly ; especially the voice.
Absolutely ❤ Claire’s speech as the Princess Elisabeth was spot on compared to the original radio broadcast and Olivia did a marvellous job as well.
Ma tko moze skinut Elizabeth..ljepotu..stav..nitko..
Lithgow was incredible as Churchill. I didn't know it was him until I saw his name in the credits.
I recognised him right away because I’m a big fan. Not only the method acting of getting the voice and manners right but John is very tall. How he “morphed” into the very different physique was just brilliant ❤❤❤❤❤
@@KayDee778That’s not method acting. That’s just acting.
I think Anderson did a phenomenon job with thatcher accent. It sound so similar to the original 🤗
I didn't and won't watch that film but it must be much easier to mimic the accent of a lower middleclass person who tried to sound like most of her fellow students at Oxford 😉 .
I agree. I thought Anderson did a fantastic job.
As a Brit, I found her accent was over-exaggerated
@@waternineeightlotus2869 So did Maggie's Oxbridge accent.
The portrayal was a caricature.
It's spooky how much they sound like the real royals!👍👍👍
Real😂
It's called acting...
Emma did a fantastic job in their work as Diana, and they both looked and sounded impeccably like the real life Princess. While I'll miss them in the upcoming Season 5, I'm excited to watch them in "My Policeman!"
She’s a girl
@@DreaDreuh they’re non-binary
Emma was good as Princess Diana. I did wish at the time that would have cast a taller actress to play Princess Diana. Princess Diana was 5'10 and Emma definitely isn't 5'10. Although John Lithgow is 6'4 and Winston Churchill was 5'6 in real life.
Emma was terrible. Totally over-acted caricature
This non binary crap is ridiculous. One person is not a “them.”
I think Tobias Menzes was exceptional as Prince Phillip.
Same, he sounds absolutely incredible
He really was!
I don't know but listening to Her Majesty's speech at 11:08 makes me believe that Imelda Staunton will definitely do a marvolous job on the Queen's accent.
So true, I thought she didn't but she does
The actress playing Anne looks just like her
Helena Bonham Carter did say she observed royal family acquaintances and friends for this job😂
I adore HBC. She played the Queen Mother in The King’s Speech. She is brilliant and I don’t understand how she never won an Academy Award.
Erin as princess Anne just awesome 👌
Fabulous video! I love hearing about the language coaching and accent studies, the actors were brilliant!
Olivia Colman will forever be my favorite Elizabeth. She should be internationally known as the middle aged Late Queen.
Lovely video great job respect
Love Anderson’s acting.. she’s brilliant
Lithgow was fantastic.
Both Helena Bonham Carter and Olivia Colman have played Queen Elizabeth the Queen mother, before she was called that. Helena Bonham Carter played her in The King's Speech and Olivia Colman played her in Hyde Park On The Hudson.
Claire Foy previous to The Crown was Anne Boleyn in Wolf Hall.
Gillian Anderson's portrayal of Margaret Thatcher sounds more like Steve Nallon on Spitting Image, than the real person. 😁
I think Josh O Connor is the most impressive impersonator, he was so captivating
I’m looking forward to seeing how they portray Kate in season 6
Did they cast that girl from tiktok??? 😍
@@chantalcaz lmaooooooo
@@chantalcaz No, unfortunately they didn't! I thought she looked so much like Kate it was uncanny.
I doubt they will go that far, only 6 seasons are confirmed.
Im not it’ll be a snoozefest…. No personality, Prince Williams stalker, and a social climber.
Be good to hear each actor in the role talking to each other to see how they compare
Then watch it maybe….?
@@KayDee778 as in Claire talking to Olivia etc.
I love 😊the way the Queen pronounced "family" as if there was no "i" in that word 😃 , the vowel sounded like the "é" sound in French 😉 .
@Beirut27 That is the way most English people pronounce the word "family" .. you are spot on "femly" 😆😆
@@twoofsix3b3g Not "most English people", it's BBC/Boarding school/Aristocracy/High middleclass, hardly a majority of Brits 😉 .
All of them are perfect. Ears indeed!
Tobias Menzies I think nails it
John Lithgow was amazing as Churchill, and I forgot that he wasn't from the UK.
I love Olivia Coleman, no problems with her accent for sure but her portrayal was at times a bit too emotive ( the late Queen was a lot more reserved) Only my opinion of course - Imelda Staunton has nailed it almost perfectly but for me, the standout, has been Elizabeth Debicki's portrayal of Diana - breath-taking and it moved me to tears. A well deserved win at the Globes as well.
I really struggle with Olivia Coleman, he speech patterns just don't sound like Queen Elizabeth.
churchill was top notch
The crown is a masterpiece in every protrayal!
good video ms mojo is a good channel
I believe Clair Foy, Matt Smith, Tobias Menzies, Erin Doherty and Helena Bonham Carter were the best at properly enunciating the Royal Family's particular English dialect, in that order. 😎
Emma Corrin has become two people. She took that royal we to heart.
can't wait for season 5
kind of pathetic how the narrator absolutely had to let us know she doesn't like Margaret Thatcher
My one criticism for the narrator of this video, the royals accent isn’t “received pronunciation” it’s actually “heightened Received Pronunciation” which is different to generalised English RP in the acting world and dialect couches. For example, the Queens accent sounds nothing like Keira Knightly yet Keira Knightly has a standardised English RP accent. The queens and royals have heightened RP where onsets, vowels, and fricatives are annunciated differently. That’s the only incorrect observation I’ve made with your video
the first two casting for seasons 1-4 were so well picked that it just made season 5 not even worth the watch to me. i tried but after asking my bf who “that is supposed to be” while pointing out the new “prince charles” for the 5th time i just turned it off.
Rare that an actress portraying a real person is less attractive than their real life version. But the real Princess Anne is actually a very beautiful woman in these clips.
too much narration and not enough comparisons
Claire Foy the best Elizabeth!
Please explain how Helena Bonham Carter got Princess Margaret's blessing to play her🤔
Ouija board maybe 😄 ?
She explains it in that same Graham Norton episode they briefly show here. If I remember correctly, she was with a medium friend who informed her what Margaret thought and said about Helena portraying her. All this was met by a very amused Olivia Coleman, pretty funny to watch, actually!
@@darkshali Contrary to Bonham-Carter, commentators here can't practise even less understand second degree.
@@darkshali What the medium says is "Margaret is here" (she had met her before so she was interested) and she said "should I play you?" Margaret's reply: "You're a better choice than the other one they are considering." HBC said she had no doubt it was Margaret because everything she said was a backhanded compliment when she was alive. (I'm writing from memory but the clip is worth watching).
@@jondavwal13 Thank you. I didn't remember exactly. But yes that was indeed what Helena Bonham Carter said on the chat show.
Notice the queen would say
"ewld" instead of "old".
"watt" instead of "what"
"cood" and in "kook" instead of "could"
"bean" instead of "been"
"w(H)an" instead of "one"
"foe tha Hewel of ma life"
"Backengh'm pahlahce"
"ClahRaHnce Haus" sometimes with the rolled R, "Clah'dahnce haus"
Very interesting vowel placement. And yes dare I say a HINT of german.
Ruhe1986 I've noticed on the crown 👑 the late queen says 'Or - stralia' instead of Australia 🇦🇺!
I detect no German accent whatsoever! She simply speaks old English. The English language is very much influenced by Scandinavian inflection and of course Norman.
@@tomspence8506 It IS pronounced ''Au stray lia''. That is unless you happen to BE Australian , in which case you would perhaps say "Ostrawlya"
@@tomspence8506 Aw Confet-treseh of Eletcted Quitahs.
Well, that's how these words are regularly pronounced in standard British English.
Emma was perfect. She did an incredible job as Diana, just as Elizabeth did.
Them all
I don't like Dominic West, I prefer O'Connor, he looks so much Charles!
So I have a question ❓ the first girl that plays the real Queen Elizabeth could she possibly be the same girl that came out in Vikings? Ethel wolves wife daughter of King Ayla of northumbria she looks just like that girl.
Judith? She was played by Jennie Jacques.
have u heard of google?
that "first girl" was actually a woman!
I am not British but I am a huge fan of The Crown and I loved them all. I loved Josh O'Connor the best by far for me. And Dominic West the worst
As a Brit who grew up seeing and hearing the royals all the time I have to say, none of the cast were especially near the real thing, Diana being particularly bad. But then, thats not what The Crown is about. Its more the essence. Bring on the next season.
10:29
11:11
11:16
😍
As much as his portrayal was really good, I think accent-wise Matt Smith was not as good as Tobias Menzies. Maybe it’s because Matt Smith already has a rather posh accent himself, but he really sound like… Matt Smith. Not much difference.
Whoever's reading this,I pray that whatever you're going through gets better and whatever you're struggling with or worrying about is going to be fine and that everyone has a fantastic day! amen
thank you ❤
Thank you🥺
Thank you! 😊 made me smile on a rather ghastly day I’m having! Goddess bless you x
The Crown had Won.
Olivia Colman is a fabulous actress, but there was too much Olivia involved when she portrayed the Queen.
I’m Englishman, I winced at a few statements made during this video. Such ignorance!
I’m Englishman says an Englishman? I rather doubt that….it’s not even proper English.
Margaret voice was young as her age and its clear and spice not like the actress and old voice with no comande
Omg
7:01 how was that 1953 if she was born in 1961?
Idiot
A WHAT bow?????
That's what they call those floppy bows around the neck, just like one a kitty cat would wear.
Gillian Anderson was far better than Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher
I thought Gillian Anderson was better much better than Streep
I thoroughly enjoyed Claire Foy and Matt Smith as the Queen and Prince Consort. However, I lost all interest in watching during season 4. It became insufferable.
They all did good. Having said that, the real-life characters are all more glamorous, complex, sophisticated, even good-looking, than the actors! I feel like somebody wanted to downplay the royals. It could be the fact that one can only look royal if they actually are royal... or it's bad cinematography. I don't find the lights, the color tones, the wardrobe, the exterior shots grand or glamorous enough, as compared to the real thing. The entire look & feel is downplayed. The characters - sorry to say - but they look common. The royals are not necessarily the most physically attractive people you've seen, but there is something in their look, the way they stand, when they walk into a room, or how they look at things. This was not at all captured in the film, almost like there was an intention to de-mythicize. But it's not a myth, it's real... Luckily for us, the real thing is here.
The real Queen didn’t look horrible as the actress did in the show.
Queen Elizabeth had a very gorgeous personality, while she was not smiling but she still looked so kind and sweet in her eyes.
Well, I’m sure you could don’t it better…🤨🤨🤨😒😒😒😒😒
the actress looks lovely, and she does a lovely job at portraying the queen
the thumbnail is misleading
We shall fight on the helll, we fight on the groungs... And mostly Indians and africans will do that. # india #Pakistan
😍💞🏆🤩
I am Brazilian, so they all sound the same to me. lol
Except for Margaret Tatcher - I don't really think she nailed it, btw...
No the royals/ aristocracy don't use RP.
Listening to the voice of the narrator was tiring.
remember the crown is dramatized like for real hahaha
its not easy to compare bavk to back the voices of the actirs and the actual person when we have to listen to YOUR SHRIEKY voice in between
First me
One is neither amused nor happy with the new cast. Rather poor likeness and I’m not sure I want to hear how they sound. It’s very disappointing as it was season 1-4 were pretty perfect.
Bot can't be first
😂
Vs the real royals lol 😂 I don't believe in that shit
Anderson sounds like Cher.
ALL WE HEAR IS THE ANNOYING SOUND AND ACCENT OF THE NARRATOR. SERIOUSLY A FAILURE, TRYING TO LISTEN TO THE ACTORS, THE POINT OF THE VID. 🙄
Gillian Anderson was...terrible.
Overdone. And perpetual krick in her neck.
Oh she’s fab
Disliked and not subbing because of the woke “them” nonsense. I refuse to play this game. The brainwashing didn’t start early enough on me.
Do u want a medal? A pat on the back?
After watching season 6 part one, Elizabeth Debecki should definitely win a awards after her performance & portrayal of Diana. She did a wonderful job, it’s was beautiful & scary af to watch😂🥲
