My main problem is the removal of features, I love classic zombies but this game mode is nothing like it, there’s no mystery box first off secondly you can’t earn salvage or upgrade your weapon rarity but yet the zombies still function the same as normal mode meaning at certain rounds the zombies health will be based on what the game thinks your weapon rarity should be at, the reason classic zombies always worked without weapon rarities is because since they weren’t a thing the zombies health wasn’t made to account for different weapon rarity. Essentially why do I want to play this game mode when it’s not really fun or classic it’s just purposely making it not even harder but more so annoying, even before we had loadouts I would still usually find a wall weapon and upgrade that throughout the game and use that weapon it’s not fun picking up a new gun every 5-8 rounds just to get better damage
It’s literally so much fun , it lets me switch augments to ones I usually never use. I ended a run at round 31 with gold rarity knife and gold gun with 2 pap and the wonder weapon , it was fun to play a harder version of the same map . I finally enjoy having a hard time to just get passed 30 .
Exactly! It makes every game actually play a bit differently. Compared to the regular mode where you already have your loadout and you just slowly upgrade it. Then you choose your ammo mod. Here it actually feels challenging to get to round 30. It's actually fun! I really hope this turns into the rumored classic mode. Because I really don't want to play the regular mode anymore. I realized that salvage is what makes modern zombies so ass for me. You just slowly kill zombies then buy everything you want. It's the same slow and boring progression every match.
I don't understand this community sometimes: We want it harder but then when it gets hard and you actually have to FIGHT for high rounds people are like nerf the difficulty, it's hard and not fun. I actually appreciate this mode being hard in general and like the challenge. As much as I dug CW it could be really too easy at times and BO3 is also incredibly easy too.
I want zombies to be the challenge because the zombies can overcrowd you on a tight map with maybe 3 good training spots.. I don’t want to deal with armor, or zombie armor… I don’t even want special zombies.. just plain zombies with a dog round and an elite zombie every 5-6 rounds.
The only let down for it honestly was that the blizzard only came in on Vermin rounds. I came in under the impression it would be a random weather event that could hit you during a round and last for a few minutes. Other than that it was fun! It’s a one and done type of thing for me but it was cool nonetheless

Classic means, no armor, no rarity, no manglers, zombies train way tighter/ even in small spaces, no streaks, possibly no field upgrade. They would have to make an entirely different game.
I wish more armor plates dropped but everything else is fine. The only other criticism I have is how derivative it feels to Jingle Hells in Die Maschine. Even the round change music is just Alone from that map. Wish they did more (like a Christmas version of Destroy Something Beautiful).

It is definitely challenging and you need to look at what gobblegums and equipment you want to bring in. The snow frost is crazy and rally impedes your movement. Be aware of where you are when it does happen.

For real, not to mention the teammates I kept getting 😂 Last game I played I got 74 revives we had to exfil on round 26 because it was getting insane with my teammates going down. I did enjoy it though, it was a fun challenge.

Love mrroflwaffles! Love bo6 zombies but I hate Jingle Halls! It’s like going to a Christmas winter wonderland but in Milton Keynes. The happiest people there are the ones leaving. Could have done so much more like making pack-a-punch actually feel Christmas-ee by making it a Christmas tr-ee or something but no. Super lazy, no passion.
One thing i wished we got was that one boss from Cold War in die maschine dressed up as santa as a unique boss or something for the mode. Really wanted an HVT style boss every now and then lol

In general, I like this. However my gripe isn’t with the mode, but the timing… why talk about it weeks ago and not release it with the nuketown update? Seems odd to only get the mode for 9 days. But I’ll give it a try when I finish my last opal Sniper I’ve been trying to finish.
The round change audio sounds like the main theme tune from dying light just me? Dying light also has a very similar Christmas event with dressed up zombies

The problem is the zombies health, spawn rates and armored nature has not been rebalanced to account for the more “classic” restrictions of this mode. They’re still buffed to account for the game’s usual mechanics, which they took away for this mode.
The problem is that armor is in the game because the zombies hit you more often than they used to. If you take away a core mechanic that balances out another one it becomes unbalanced and makes the difficulty feel artificially inflated rather than difficult in a fair and balanced way.
Did u see the new EE In citadile where u just follow the raven for three minutes without shooting it and u get a free random perk, so u need to slide down the sower and shoot the raven but when it comes to live u just follow it for 3 minutes and don’t shoot it
Walked into this blind and actually thought it was really fun, it reminds me in some aspects of classic zombies in ways, but granted this is just a seasonal event, it’s not meant to be end all be all lol
I feel like, if we show this mode enough love they’ll give us a classic mode. It’s like 70% there we just need some minor adjustments to the gameplay and some rarity adjustments and it’s almost a classic mode in and of itself.
Its not that bad. If you are good at the Bowling Easter Egg you can get a fairly strong gun that will carry you much of the time. Frenzied Guard helps you keep your Armor up, you keep your Augments, and Score Streaks are plentiful. Presents remain on the ground for an adnormally long time, only despawning when you open them. (Though randos will likely open them in public lobbies) As such you can keep presents on the ground for when you need Lethals or Tacticals.
Just want some color in the maps some character like feels lifeless and the passion for the story telling is gone ! (*jason ❤ blundel* Forever GOATED ) miss you man.
This is why I like this mode. It's actually a bit hard to get to round 30. Where as the regular mode, getting to round 30 is the same boring progression of upgrading your loadout with salvage, buying the anmo mod you want. Then after round 30 suddenly it becomes impossibly hard. So it takes too long for it to get hard/fun, then when it does get hard it's not that fun. Here you don't get exactly what you want. You actually have to strategize a bit like Milo did with the traps for the bugs since he didn't have armor. I hope this turns into the rumored classic mode because I really don't want to play the regular mode anymore. Salvage is just not fun.
I wander if Jingle Hell is a test to see if playing with the format changes some interest in zombies, because I think a lot of casuals are finding once you beat the easter egg, if you care that is, their really nothing else left outside of using the mode to grind levels or camos. I know their are small groups doing speed runs and high level, but is that enough to justify a zombies mode with the bulk of casuals are possibly tuning out. My gaming group of 6 casuals (we are all in are 30s and we only have a few hours a week play), no one wants to play bo6 zombies anymore and we are only 2 months into launch. Contrast that to MWZ, everyone loved playing that from launch till late spring/early summer this year. Also, now that b06 is only-line only I bet they get all sorts of metrics on who's doing what and for how long and if its true that casuals are starting to leave the mode what does this mean for future content/maps. Considering their seems to be so much wrong with warzone , multiplayer, anti-cheat, servers will they pull resources to work on that stuff. Then as per-usual arrangement the next COD will need wrapped and they tend to start pulling best devs over to that.
I found the mode fun personally. The drops aren’t super awful once you get to the mid rounds and realizing you just a roof and not be inside a building was a game changer. Though 100% best spot for bugs is in the hotel room. Love the content Milo, keep the no nonsense coming!
I forgot to mention, using a stim shot when you icing over removes the ice and starts over so if you get caught far away from cover I recommend that if no other option is available.*

This game mode requires a different level of strategy that the normal modes don’t require. You have to USE all the equipment, score streaks, and some guns that the snowmen/presents/samta trials give you in order to survive… people don’t seem to understand. I’ve been playing random squads and everybody starts going down somewhere in the 12 to 15 range. It’s tiresome to keep trying to save people, and they leave when they die. This game mode is too hard for the majority, which makes squads horrendous. I have played probably 15 or so games, and only 1 of those games the full lobby made it past round 20, eventually hitting exfil at 36. With that being said, I’ve loved it so far. Although, It seems like the overwhelming majority of people just don’t get it, and tend to struggle.
Little upset that i did the Easter egg yesterday on jingle hells and you don't receive a special holiday calling card like it would be cool if they had a Christmas version of the calling card of Liberty falls what a missed opportunity

Saw a guy in live chat replay saying "IDK why people complain about free temporary content" To people who think ths way: A bad mode is a bad mode, free or not. If someone handed me a free cake but it was made out of literal poop I'd obviously complain about being handed a pile of shit. Now, Jingle Hells is not REALLY that terrible for a seasoned zombies player, it is just a more challenging mode, like Hard Mode sorta. Some people are gonna hate it simply because it is different from what they are used to. Older zombies players that remember the Golden Age will probably enjoy this mode more than those who only know Zombies from Cold War and beyond.
I think the problem compared to Cold War's jingle hells mode is, I love Die Maschine but find Liberty Balls boring. Possibly my least favourite starter map.

People saying "its harder and we've always wanted it to be hard again, then when it is hard people complain that its too hard" I just don't understand. Not only are there people who like the difficulty as it is. But also removing a key gameplay mechanic is artificial difficulty rather than an actually fair difficulty increase. Essentially removing armor doesn't make the game difficult in a fair way, it does make it harder but it feels super artificial. I do however like the fact that you can't craft anything and the main way of getting better rarities is through the gifts, its a christmas map so it makes a lot of sense, yeah its rng but so is hitting the box so it doesn't really matter. The actual reason the game feels easy is because every map in bo6 is so open and you can train in literally any spot with relative ease. It doesn't help that mantling is super good in these new cod games because the zombies can't keep up with you if you mantle everywhere. This is especially the case in liberty falls but I've just taken that as the casual zombies map so its meant to be easy. If you look at maps like Verruckt where there are endless tight corridors with super sprinters and there is really only 1 "good" training spot you start to realise that we haven't had a map like that since, but its especially noticeable in these new cod games where there are so many open spaces on the maps. I would love for them to bring back the 4 classic zombies maps like how they did in bo1, but for bo6, no places to mantle, no expansions to the map. Also with these new maps they keep putting barriers on every corner of every part of the map and it makes for really bad zombie spawns. If they made der riese in modern zombies they would put a window where the box is at the end of the catwalk, and ofc it is impossible to barricade it up because they removed that. Personally I think the mode has a lot of potential but it just felt more like a copy paste from cold war rather than innovating on it and improving the mode. I'd give the mode a 6/10 probably, its not bad and has potential but has one fundamental issue that almost forces you to stop playing it.
Jingle Hells is hard and it's restricted; I love it. It brings a nice challenge that isn't just self inflicted. Edit: Except for the severe lack of armour.. Restricted armour is fine but you basically only get armour if you pay 4k is wild :/ Edit 2: I'd rather the devs focus more on the 'dlc' maps instead of adding holiday themes to all 3 current maps
Jingle Hells is no different from playing directed mode. On directed mode, you don’t have Aetherella, music EE, or any other EE besides the Main EE, and is completely round cap based on progression

I deleted Bo6 to make room to replay resident evil village. Once I've completed the EE, I'm done with a map. The only holiday event I can remember taking part in was a Halloween event for cold war and that was because I hadn't finished the EE and the pumpkins could drop the WW

No it isn’t lol. You must have never played classic zombies. Why is tac sprinting in this mode if it’s “basically classic zombies”? Scorestreaks? Armored zombies and armor plates? Weapon rarity levels? Bullet sponge zombies bosses that spawn multiple times per round? This is a lazy and awful attempt at bringing back “classic” zombies.
@ i’ve been playing since world at war..it’s a start to us getting back to classic zombies, i said basically which implies that there are still some issues..they removed salvage, the crafting table..which is a start. but i agree they would need to remove the score streaks, weapon rarity, amor plates( replace with a shield), go back to the point system we had in bo3 or 4 and then it would be classic
So far, I have pretty mixed feelings about the mode. I like the weather modifier but the complete lack of armor plates is bullshit. Vulturaid, the brand new perk, is useless. The balancing is fucked. I don't think they playtested this at all. Or they wouldn't have launched the game mode with zero fucking armor drops.

Walked into this blind and actually thought it was really fun, it reminds me in some aspects of classic zombies in ways, but granted this is just a seasonal event, it’s not meant to be end all be all lol
I feel like, if we show this mode enough love they’ll give us a classic mode. It’s like 70% there we just need some minor adjustments to the gameplay and some rarity adjustments and it’s almost a classic mode in and of itself.
Its not that bad. If you are good at the Bowling Easter Egg you can get a fairly strong gun that will carry you much of the time.
Frenzied Guard helps you keep your Armor up, you keep your Augments, and Score Streaks are plentiful.
Presents remain on the ground for an adnormally long time, only despawning when you open them. (Though randos will likely open them in public lobbies) As such you can keep presents on the ground for when you need Lethals or Tacticals.
Just want some color in the maps some character like feels lifeless and the passion for the story telling is gone ! (*jason ❤ blundel* Forever GOATED ) miss you man.

This is why I like this mode. It's actually a bit hard to get to round 30. Where as the regular mode, getting to round 30 is the same boring progression of upgrading your loadout with salvage, buying the anmo mod you want. Then after round 30 suddenly it becomes impossibly hard. So it takes too long for it to get hard/fun, then when it does get hard it's not that fun. Here you don't get exactly what you want. You actually have to strategize a bit like Milo did with the traps for the bugs since he didn't have armor. I hope this turns into the rumored classic mode because I really don't want to play the regular mode anymore. Salvage is just not fun.
Jingle hells is basically as close as we get to the original zombies experience in modern cod haha

I wander if Jingle Hell is a test to see if playing with the format changes some interest in zombies, because I think a lot of casuals are finding once you beat the easter egg, if you care that is, their really nothing else left outside of using the mode to grind levels or camos. I know their are small groups doing speed runs and high level, but is that enough to justify a zombies mode with the bulk of casuals are possibly tuning out. My gaming group of 6 casuals (we are all in are 30s and we only have a few hours a week play), no one wants to play bo6 zombies anymore and we are only 2 months into launch. Contrast that to MWZ, everyone loved playing that from launch till late spring/early summer this year. Also, now that b06 is only-line only I bet they get all sorts of metrics on who's doing what and for how long and if its true that casuals are starting to leave the mode what does this mean for future content/maps. Considering their seems to be so much wrong with warzone , multiplayer, anti-cheat, servers will they pull resources to work on that stuff. Then as per-usual arrangement the next COD will need wrapped and they tend to start pulling best devs over to that.
If the snowmen dropped armor plates it would be a 10/10 event
I found the mode fun personally. The drops aren’t super awful once you get to the mid rounds and realizing you just a roof and not be inside a building was a game changer. Though 100% best spot for bugs is in the hotel room. Love the content Milo, keep the no nonsense coming!
I forgot to mention, using a stim shot when you icing over removes the ice and starts over so if you get caught far away from cover I recommend that if no other option is available.*

New mode is a fun challenge. already beat the EE in it. I do wish we got more plates, tho.
This game mode requires a different level of strategy that the normal modes don’t require. You have to USE all the equipment, score streaks, and some guns that the snowmen/presents/samta trials give you in order to survive… people don’t seem to understand. I’ve been playing random squads and everybody starts going down somewhere in the 12 to 15 range. It’s tiresome to keep trying to save people, and they leave when they die. This game mode is too hard for the majority, which makes squads horrendous. I have played probably 15 or so games, and only 1 of those games the full lobby made it past round 20, eventually hitting exfil at 36.
With that being said, I’ve loved it so far. Although, It seems like the overwhelming majority of people just don’t get it, and tend to struggle.

if u dive at the perk machine and press whatever ur interact button is mid air u will skip the animation of drinking it

To people who think ths way: A bad mode is a bad mode, free or not. If someone handed me a free cake but it was made out of literal poop I'd obviously complain about being handed a pile of shit. Now, Jingle Hells is not REALLY that terrible for a seasoned zombies player, it is just a more challenging mode, like Hard Mode sorta. Some people are gonna hate it simply because it is different from what they are used to. Older zombies players that remember the Golden Age will probably enjoy this mode more than those who only know Zombies from Cold War and beyond.
I think the problem compared to Cold War's jingle hells mode is, I love Die Maschine but find Liberty Balls boring. Possibly my least favourite starter map.

Hey I have question about the exfil gobble gum does it automatically get consumed when you try to exfil or do you have to pop it before you exfil?
People saying "its harder and we've always wanted it to be hard again, then when it is hard people complain that its too hard" I just don't understand.
Not only are there people who like the difficulty as it is.
But also removing a key gameplay mechanic is artificial difficulty rather than an actually fair difficulty increase. Essentially removing armor doesn't make the game difficult in a fair way, it does make it harder but it feels super artificial. I do however like the fact that you can't craft anything and the main way of getting better rarities is through the gifts, its a christmas map so it makes a lot of sense, yeah its rng but so is hitting the box so it doesn't really matter.
The actual reason the game feels easy is because every map in bo6 is so open and you can train in literally any spot with relative ease. It doesn't help that mantling is super good in these new cod games because the zombies can't keep up with you if you mantle everywhere. This is especially the case in liberty falls but I've just taken that as the casual zombies map so its meant to be easy.
If you look at maps like Verruckt where there are endless tight corridors with super sprinters and there is really only 1 "good" training spot you start to realise that we haven't had a map like that since, but its especially noticeable in these new cod games where there are so many open spaces on the maps.
I would love for them to bring back the 4 classic zombies maps like how they did in bo1, but for bo6, no places to mantle, no expansions to the map.
Also with these new maps they keep putting barriers on every corner of every part of the map and it makes for really bad zombie spawns. If they made der riese in modern zombies they would put a window where the box is at the end of the catwalk, and ofc it is impossible to barricade it up because they removed that.
Personally I think the mode has a lot of potential but it just felt more like a copy paste from cold war rather than innovating on it and improving the mode. I'd give the mode a 6/10 probably, its not bad and has potential but has one fundamental issue that almost forces you to stop playing it.
If you complete the story do you get aether tools and crystals like normal mode?

Jingle Hells is hard and it's restricted; I love it. It brings a nice challenge that isn't just self inflicted.
Edit: Except for the severe lack of armour.. Restricted armour is fine but you basically only get armour if you pay 4k is wild :/
Edit 2: I'd rather the devs focus more on the 'dlc' maps instead of adding holiday themes to all 3 current maps
Just blow the zombie head up at wave 31, and you will get a legendary aether tool for your loadout gun
Jingle Hells is no different from playing directed mode. On directed mode, you don’t have Aetherella, music EE, or any other EE besides the Main EE, and is completely round cap based on progression

Once I've completed the EE, I'm done with a map. The only holiday event I can remember taking part in was a Halloween event for cold war and that was because I hadn't finished the EE and the pumpkins could drop the WW

No it isn’t lol. You must have never played classic zombies. Why is tac sprinting in this mode if it’s “basically classic zombies”? Scorestreaks? Armored zombies and armor plates? Weapon rarity levels? Bullet sponge zombies bosses that spawn multiple times per round? This is a lazy and awful attempt at bringing back “classic” zombies.
@ i’ve been playing since world at war..it’s a start to us getting back to classic zombies, i said basically which implies that there are still some issues..they removed salvage, the crafting table..which is a start. but i agree they would need to remove the score streaks, weapon rarity, amor plates( replace with a shield), go back to the point system we had in bo3 or 4 and then it would be classic

So far, I have pretty mixed feelings about the mode. I like the weather modifier but the complete lack of armor plates is bullshit. Vulturaid, the brand new perk, is useless.
The balancing is fucked. I don't think they playtested this at all. Or they wouldn't have launched the game mode with zero fucking armor drops.
