Perfect exhaust sound here. I HATE when people make things too loud. Especially something like an SUV. This is perfect, you want your engine to sound like an engine, but not deafen the neighborhood

Yes 5.4 can have problems, but I've grown up with this engine, never had a problem, and always sounded extremely good. I love these Expaditions as well.
I just bought a f150 with the 5.4 with 155k miles. I'm not too familiar with these engines but just now hearing horror stories about them. It runs amazing though
@@fiber9m I have been a Ford tech and there are different 5.4 engines. 2v and 3v. The 2v motors were more reliable and built better, one of the biggest things is the 2v has a fixed cam gear versus the 3v having a cam phaser. Spark plugs are much easier to work with on the 2v. I've had multiple motors go well past the 300k mark. The 3v can last, but you have to be on top of anything that is going on with the motor.
I had an Expedition Eddie Bauer. Wasn’t a fan of the engine but it was a great vehicle. I will put it in my videos soon.

That’s usually the cause of the rattle so that expedition is immunized against rattle box fever lol, I swear the stock exhaust we had rattled so bad when we pulled into our driveway to the point it caused the engine to shake and it brought the check engine light on

What even sound better if you use the 40 series flowmaster 2 chamber muffler and also resonator delete. I own a 2004 Lincoln aviator with flowmaster 40 series 2 chamber sounds really good

I know this is an old comment, but I wanted to see since you own a Lincoln, do they have more catalytic converter’s than the expedition? Because I seen someone say that they do. I have an 07 Lincoln navigator, thinking about either going with the super 44 or an 18 inch glass pack.
@@chrisb-br5nx yes Chris my 2002 Lincoln Continental had three converters which I had one removed but left the two up front and ran the 40 series 2 chamber mufflers and it sounds awesome!! 🏁🏁🏁😎🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁

Can someone tell me that this has the same amount of catalytic converter‘s as the Lincoln navigator or did the navigator have more, because I’ve seen navigators like mine with this exhaust that are much quieter.

I have one of these expeditions, is it 2.25 exhaust or 3" exhaust. I wasnt a 40 series on mine.
What can you recommend for my expedition, is the 5.4, no cats, stock exhaust. I wanna have a deep sound, comfortable for travels but when the revs are high sounds good...

My 03 Expedition has a secondary cat delete, super 10 Flowmaster and it’s still quiet. Maybe longtubes next.

@@demarkusthompson2867 Nothing. Early designs had occasional spark plug blowouts through the cylinder heads. Later designs fixed it with a deeper plug well and longer shanked plugs. Brown plug coil 5.4s are the improved design.
