This scene scared the shit out of me as a kid! I first saw Honey I Shrunk The Kids in the Theater and when Nick almost got eaten, I had my arms up in the air and I ran out of the Theater screaming! LOL
I loved that movie! And the part where Nick was almost eaten by Wayne was my favorite. I would’ve love to have seen multiple alternate scenes. On the one where Quark didn’t save Nick in time seeing Nick get gulped down & show him descending down into Wayne’s stomach & sounding as he was descending. I also would have loved to see a mix up where it Wayne’s Orange Juice Nick fell into after losing his grip which would result to Nick screaming DON’T DRINK ME instead of DON’T EAT ME. And seeing that would be just as hilarious. Especially as Nick was forced from the weight of the Juice entering Wayne’s mouth in there with it & Nick being automatically being washed down by Wayne with the Orange Juice. But on both scenes where Nick was either eaten or drank up! Seeing a scene of Nick in Wayne’s stomach & what he’d be thinking to himself as he was trapped in Wayne’s stomach before he ends up dissolving & vanishing in there.
Just look at the cockroach with cereal carefully and if there is nothing strange you eat the cereal, but if you notice something moving then you have a very small insect in your cereal 👀
If this could be real though! With not too many things going right for me! If I were that small & that were me in either a friend of mine’s cereal or one of my favorite singers or Sports Athletes! I’d be honored for him to scoop me up in his cereal & gulp me down! That way being trapped in his stomach would free me from wondering how things will be better for me while I still could think that!
I wish though Quark didn’t save Nick in time! It would’ve been a fun scene showing Nick get gulped down & descend down into Wayne’s stomach & think or say to himself beyond arrival down in there. Where he’d remain trapped until the Stomach Acids living in there fully vanished him.
@@k7j6 Hey! If Quark hadn’t saved Nick, Wayne would’ve missed him and not see Amy or the neighbor's kids, too. Besides, showing Nick being digested would be totally gross. So yeah.
That was a good save by Quirk! But an alternate ending where Nick was eaten and what Wayne & Diane would be doing after Wayne’s breakfast unaware of Nick in Wayne’s stomach would’ve been a nice alternate to see. And what the 3 other shrunk kids would try to explain to Wayne & Diane that Nick was never coming back all because Wayne ate him without knowing.
As horrifying as this scene is, just think of how awful it would have been if Nick’s dad actually ate him. Not just for Nick himself, but for everyone- _especially_ his father, who’d then have to live knowing that he literally killed his own child by crushing him between his teeth.
My question is, would you try and retrieve the remains? I suppose inducing vomiting would be the way to go, but imagine how horrible it would be to have to fish out your own son's mangled, half dissolved corpse from your own throwup just to give him a proper burial. Tragic
It was! But a secondary scene of Nick being eaten and what Wayne would do afterword without knowing Nick was in his stomach before he spotted the other three & how the other 3 would tell Wayne after they were back to normal size that Nick was not coming back because he ate him.
But quark didn’t bite Wayne’s leg he just bit the bottom of his pants and the sound effect of the bites was the sound of the cloth of his ripping apart.
That could’ve been true! But I could only wonder what could’ve happened if Quark didn’t save Nick in time & he ended up in Wayne’s stomach without Wayne knowing. And what Wayne & Diane would’ve done after Wayne finished his cereal while Nick was trapped in Wayne’s stomach with the other shrunk kids knowing Wayne ate him. And lastly! After Wayne & Diane finally found the 3 other shrunk kids! They would wonder how they’d be able to explain to Wayne & Diane that Nick was never coming back because Wayne ate him.
No doubt! And on an alternate scene where Nick was eaten! I wish it would show Nick decent down to Wayne’s stomach! And seeing a scene like that would’ve been a great scene. And as Nick was trapped in Wayne’s stomach with no easy way out. I wonder what his thoughts would be as the acids in Wayne’s stomach began to vanish him in there.
well okay i guess its time to admit it to the world. i was named after nicki. my older sister was obsessed with this movie as a child and when my mother was pregnant she begged her to name me nicki bc everyone thought i was going to be a boy. so my name is Nicole. 31 years old named after a little boy in an awesome comedic 1989 film
The way Wayne shouted "OW" when Quark bit his leg to prevent him from eating Nick, gee Whiz. If that actually happened for real, that would cause Nick permanent hearing damage! LOL
Even the lawnmower scene would have destroyed their eardrums. Also when Quark barked at the Thomson's cat. The kids were hanging on to Quarks hairs and that would have been really loud too.
If I could’ve watched that movie when it was in theaters! I bet it would’ve been just as funny as it was when I first bought the movie about a decade later. I would’ve loved to have been a 5th kid shrunk with Nick, Amy, Little Russ & Ron on that movie! Especially since I was a kid myself back then too! And also the thought of me losing my grip & falling with Nick in Wayne’s cereal & hoping he wouldn’t gulp any of us down.
The worst part is Wayne didn’t even brush his teeth after waking up since he goes straight from the attic to the yard to the kitchen. Poor little Nick copped some gale force morning breath lol.
Lol never thought about that. A lot of things in this movie wouldn't be how they are in real life. I've read that being that small, you wouldn't be able to see that well. The lawnmower would have bust their eardrums. Quarks bark would have too. There weren't enough insects in the backyard. They wouldn't be able to walk through the grass as they did. It's full of a lot of dirt and not a lot of open spaces.
Wayne may not have brushed his teeth! But most importantly! During the time Nick fell into his Cheerios! Wayne was drowsy & likely couldn’t see him. Let alone! He couldn’t even hear the kids because they were too small for him to hear them. And giving Nick waved his arms after Wayne scooped him up & was about to eat him! It’s a 95% chance he would’ve been eaten should Quark have not saved him in time! I wish in those regards he didn’t! I wanted to see Nick down in Wayne’s stomach. And I wanted to hear what he’d say to himself upon his arrival in Wayne’s stomach as they briefly showed him in there about to slowly but surely vanish with Wayne not knowing. And I wish they did an alternate ending from there as to what the 3 other shrunk kids would be thinking to each other & what Wayne & Diane would’ve done after Wayne finished his Breakfast without knowing Nick was in his stomach & was going to vanish before he knew he ate him.
@bill bixby maybe there's an alternate ending where Moranis eats his son just like the original little shop of Horrors ending where the plant eats Audrey and takes over the world🤣
Yes! But it would’ve been better for there to have been a scene to where Quark didn’t save Nick in time & Nick was gulped down by Wayne. I sure wish on a secondary scene like that! It would’ve seen a look at Nick trapped in Wayne’s stomach. Seeing that scene would’ve been a cool scene! Nick himself wouldn’t have liked it if that happened! But I would’ve loved it. All so I could see him in there & what he’d say or think to himself!
The only problem why Wayne didn’t see Nick fall in his Cheerios! He was too sleepy to notice after being up extreme late to fix his Shrink Ray. So should he have gulped Nick down! He wouldn’t have seen him anyway because he was drowsy! And aside that! Nick was too small. And Wayne could not hear him. No matter how loud he tried to yell & scream at him!
I am just so fascinated by Honey I shrunk the kids. I love seeing bugs giant size and the thought of them human sized or humans shrunk down is very interesting. I've Googled what it would be like for a human to be that small. Terrifying and fun to think about. Even this scene is scary. Just imagine being swallowed.
Funnily enough, it was originally conceived by horror guys, those being Stuart Gordon, Brian Yuzna, and Ed Naha. Gordon and Yuzna did stuff like Re-Animator and From Beyond while Naha did the original Troll (and also Dolls with Gordon and Yuzna). In fact, Gordon was supposed to make the movie, but he got sick and they brought in Joe Johnston instead (and had the script altered). So, yeah, that might explain it.
This would've been a traumatic experience for a kid. Just Imagine what happened to Nick in the years to come. The nightmares, the therapy, the drugs (Prescribed or Recreational). Hell Imagine what would've happened had Wayne eaten his son and then found out later that he had. There's no way he would've been able to live with the knowledge of what he did. Wow, I went to a really dark place with that.
How would Nick have therapy if Wayne and Diane told him and Amy to keep it a secret after they moved to Las Vegas to have Adam? Had Quark never bit Wayne's ankle, his son would have been screwed!
Yeah that would be really traumatizing. He'd probably need therapy 4real. Waking up screaming in the middle of the night, seeing bees, ants, and scorpions in his dreams, lawnmowers, his father almost eating him.
Yes! And even though Quark did save Nick from being eaten by Wayne! I only wish they could’ve done secondary scenes like that in the older days when that movie first hit the theaters a long time ago! Especially the part where Quark did not come to the rescue in time & Nick was a goner. On the TV Version of Honey I shrunk the kids! I remember a scene where the family was in some man’s stomach because he drank them. So I think a certain scene like that in the first movie of that after Nick was gulped down by Wayne would’ve had a cool twist to that too! With Nick in Wayne’s stomach & what Nick would think to himself while he still could! And what the 3 other shrunk kids what be thinking to each other after knowing there was nothing they could do anymore for Nick to be saved because he was gulped down by Wayne & in his stomach. And if the scene on Nick in Wayne’s stomach could have played out on how they could’ve worked out that scene! I only wonder how the background music would sound like with Nick trapped in Wayne’s stomach with no way out. I’ve heard too that if a person was shrunk down for real & was eaten by another man in his cereal! There could be no coming back! Even if that person was just swallowed whole by him!
The hero of this movie as far as I'm concerned. He saw what happened to the kids, he knew where they were and was the only one who could bring them home when the adults couldn't.
Yeah! It was good he saved the day! But the alternate ending of Nick being eaten by Wayne & showing Nick make his decent down into Wayne’s stomach would’ve been nice to see. Also the part on how the 3 other shrunk kids would react knowing it was too late to save Nick because he was already in Wayne’s belly! And I bet they would’ve said to each other how they wished Wayne could’ve heard them or Nick. But knew they were too small & he couldn’t hear them. No matter how loud they tried to yell & scream to get his attention! And Nick likely would’ve realized that at the end too after he was trapped in Wayne’s stomach while he could still think at all! I was a child myself when that movie came out. And I would’ve loved in certain ways to have been the 5th kid then shrunk either way them & also me accidentally losing my grip with Nick & both me & him in Wayne’s cereal & one of us being scooped up at a time & the other shortly after. I only wonder how difficult it could’ve been in that kind of movie for Wayne to get our attention with both me & Nick in Wayne’s cereal & him not knowing. And rather me & Nick were scooped up at the same time or me then him with either Nick being saved & me not or both of us not being saved in time.
This movie has one small problem(no pun intended): when you shrink the size of an object but reducing the space inside of its constituent atoms, *its mass remains unchanged*. That kid would still be too heavy for him to lift up with just a spoon and one hand.
@@tigertim620 Not really. Wayne was a genius. He was just doing his job. Ron was the one who hit the ball through the window malfunctioning the machine.
Quark did save Nick! But for the sake of me seeing Nick descend down into Wayne’s stomach! I wish Quark wasn’t there in time! I would’ve loved nothing more on the alternate scene how it would go long after Wayne’s Breakfast seeing Nick in Wayne’s stomach just briefly & him saying to himself what he’d say before vanishing in there how he wished he saw him. But remember! Wayne was drowsy! So while he was eating his Cheerios! He wouldn’t have likely seen Nick fall in there anyway due to how small he was. He did try to wave his arms to get his attention after he was scooped up by Wayne. But Wayne would’ve less likely seen him because of how sleepy he was & how he had his eyes closed certain times he could’ve seen Nick should he have not. But seeing Nick get eaten by Wayne & showing Nick in Wayne’s stomach would’ve been cool. I wish they did that scene!
That part where Nick yells DONT EAT ME!! Was a homage to the 1950s The Fly where he shouts "HELP ME!! HELP ME!!!" I think thats kinda cool and if you watch the movie now its kinda of a little horror movie/Science fiction!!!
Good to see you think that! But what would you have called it if Wayne were to have ate Nick & Nick entered Wayne’s stomach & was not chewed but just swallowed whole after entering then Giant Wayne’s Giant mouth?
When I saw that scene! I’d say to the scene! Eat him Wayne! Eat him! I want to see him in your stomach. And as they showed Nick screaming NO! I’d say! Yes Wayne! Eat him! Please! I want to see Nick enter your stomach. I for one would be open to play the part as the 5th kid shrunk back then to falling in Wayne’s cheerios with Nick. And if Wayne doesn’t eat Nick! I’d open to him eating me & gulping me down! So they could quickly see a scene afterword of me in Wayne’s stomach. Even if Nick lucky to not accidentally follow in my footsteps.
Allow me to pontificate: This came out when I five. I remember seeing the trailer on tv and thinking it was some bizzar cherrio's commercial. All it showed was the boy in the spoon and wayne's mouth opening wide and it ends right there... Finally, my mom took me to see it and I remember being freaked out when this part came up because I didn't know how Nick was going to get out of this alive. I was scare, nervous and worried all at once. How I relieved I was when quark stepped in.
That was magic! But however. I only wish a scene of Nick being swallowed whole by Wayne & his sounds as he was entering Wayne’s stomach would not only be scary! But it would be a funny clip too. I was a child myself when that movie came out. And it would’ve been cool for me to be a part of that movie & shrunk with those 4 kids. And maybe during the cereal scene! I would’ve loved to have played the part of dropping in Wayne’s bowl of Cheerios with Nick. That way if possible! I’d risk saving Nick from being gulped down by Wayne as he scooped me up & was about to eat me. And maybe also just let him put the spoon in his mouth with me in it. And be swallowed whole. That way while I entered Wayne’s stomach! I’d know as I was in there I risked myself to save Nick. And should Wayne swallow Nick too! I’d bet Nick would thank me for trying to save him by risking myself beyond Nick’s arrival down into Wayne’s stomach. Where we would wonder what we could’ve done to get Wayne’s attention.
@@gabrielgiraldo6798that’s true! But if it were to be real for a person to be that small & in another person’s cereal! That would likely to have happened by accident like it almost did on that movie with Nick almost getting eaten by Wayne. And also if it were real! You could yell & scream at a person normal size as loud as you could. And no matter what & no matter how loud you were! They would not hear you because you’d be the size of a bug while that person you would try to get attention to would stay normal sized.
@@tigertim620 Shrunk & gulped down! Sure! As long as it was a certain friend or Star or Athlete I idolize the most! But that would depend on who of them’s bowl of Cereal it was!
It is scary! But it is hilarious at the same time. Alternate scenes would be cool too with Nick being the victim of being Wayne’s Breakfast without him knowing. Like maybe a scene of where he fell into Wayne’s Orange Juice & he drank the Orange juice and just without knowing washed Nick down just like that. I love the alternate scenes where Quark doesn’t save Nick in time & Wayne eats him. But as he by then was trapped in Wayne’s stomach with no way out whatsoever! I just wish they could film that! Even if it could’ve had Nick animated while rotting in Wayne’s stomach. And I also wish I would’ve known from there what he’d think to himself as he was trapped in Wayne’s stomach before he began to vanish in there. Either way though! If that were to have happened & Wayne was finished with his Breakfast! It would be interesting what he & Diane would’ve done afterword while wondering where the kids were & unaware Nick was vanishing in Wayne’s stomach! And meanwhile! The other 3 kids would probably wonder how to explain to Wayne after he found them Nick was never coming back because Wayne ate him by accident.
That is true! But if you were shrunk down to that Size Nick was! Those Cheerios would be regular sized to normal sized people but the size of inner tubes to those as small as Nick. There could’ve been no easy way for Nick to just escape from that bowl. I bet though it would’ve been possible that should there have been a scene that Nick was never Scooped up by Giant Wayne’s Spoon! He would’ve likely at the end became Wayne’s breakfast anyway! Because I’d bet after all the Cheerios were gone & Nick still remained in what was then just milk in the Bowl! Wayne would’ve likely drank the rest of that milk which would wash Nick down in seconds! Which would get Nick to descend down into Wayne’s stomach seconds faster than him being eaten with the Cheerios.
Not just this but seeing a giant bee up close, scorpion, ant, butterfly, dead fly, dead flea. The fascination I have with this movie is hard to explain. I'm obsessed with knowing how insects would look, sound, and behave at that size. Imagine how loud crickets, birds, and dogs would be. Rain, dust, snow. How would a worm or ladybug look? I'm extremely fascinated and terrified by this.
@@aaronflowers8881good point! But also! Should you have been gulped down by another man while you were that small! How long you had to last after entering his stomach before the stomach acid dissolved you.

Terror is right! And it would’ve been good if Nick was gulped down & him descending down in Wayne’s stomach. And then! The real terror would happen after Nick was finally trapped inside Wayne’s stomach with no way out. As it would be very hot in there & wet & slimy & all the Stomach Acids living in Wayne’s stomach would soon fully vanish him to where there would be nothing left of him.
@@tigertim620 you know I am! It would’ve been fun seeing him in Wayne’s stomach & how he’s react & what he’d say or think to himself after his arrival down there! That no doubt was my favorite scene! And I’ve heard if you could be shrunk like that for real & you were eaten by a man after you fell into his cereal! There would be no coming back! Even if he just swallowed you whole. So I still could only imagine how Nick would be thinking while he still could remembering afterwords because he was that small that Wayne could not hear him & after he was in Wayne’s stomach with no way out! And I’m sure if that scene would work! Nick would be thinking after entering the stomach! I wish I was to have been heard! Now it is too late for me! And I could just imagine too what the 3 other kids would be thinking too knowing it was too late & Nick was a goner. They probably would be thinking! If only he could’ve heard us or Nick! But what else they’d think before Wayne finally saw at least 3 of them is a question too!
Yes! True! Nick seems to have lost his grip very easily! But I’d bet that’d be what he would be thinking & wishing there was a way for him to have not lost his grip that easily should Quark have not saved Nick & he was gulped down. And Nick would likely have wished on that more after entering Wayne’s stomach before he ended up dissolving & vanishing in Wayne.

I cannot eat breakfast cereal anymore because of this scene!
Same! The first time I saw this scene, I didn't eat cereal for an entire week.
Just look at the cockroach with cereal carefully and if there is nothing strange you eat the cereal, but if you notice something moving then you have a very small insect in your cereal 👀
"Oh look, it's Nick"

Correct.
This movie is horrifying.

As horrifying as this scene is, just think of how awful it would have been if Nick’s dad actually ate him. Not just for Nick himself, but for everyone- _especially_ his father, who’d then have to live knowing that he literally killed his own child by crushing him between his teeth.
It's just a movie for kids,

Amazing
The worst part is Wayne didn’t even brush his teeth after waking up since he goes straight from the attic to the yard to the kitchen. Poor little Nick copped some gale force morning breath lol.
Maybe he brushed them the night before. I love how he’s clean shaven right after she wakes him up. Only in the movies!
That’s your biggest concern here?😂
Lol never thought about that.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

@bill bixby i used to run out of the room and come back when it was over 🤣
Very good question.

Or you know, he gained a Vore fetish.

This made me want to watch this movie
That part where Nick yells DONT EAT ME!! Was a homage to the 1950s The Fly where he shouts "HELP ME!! HELP ME!!!" I think thats kinda cool and if you watch the movie now its kinda of a little horror movie/Science fiction!!!
Which would be fine if the horror angle was intentional, but this is also supposed to be a family movie so it kinda feels out of place.
Good to see you think that! But what would you have called it if Wayne were to have ate Nick & Nick entered Wayne’s stomach & was not chewed but just swallowed whole after entering then Giant Wayne’s Giant mouth?
NO, DAD!
Who wasn’t at the edge of their seats at this scene?
Allow me to pontificate: This came out when I five. I remember seeing the trailer on tv and thinking it was some bizzar cherrio's commercial. All it showed was the boy in the spoon and wayne's mouth opening wide and it ends right there...
