My grandparents were both born and raised in Knott County. My grandma was out working in her flower bed one afternoon when my grandpa happened to be driving by. He though she was beautiful, had to stop and talk to her and the rest is history. My mom was born and raised there too, along with all my aunts and uncles. I have a special place in my heart for Knott Co. and especially Hindman. This is probably my favorite song by Sundy Best.
My Granny and Papa were both born and raised in Knott County and Granny still has her old family home in Hindman which didn't have plumbing when she grew up. She got made fun of in school because she had to farm her family's land. All the ladies were interested in Papa because he split his time in a much larger town in southern ohio and he had his very own pickup truck. He only had eyes for Granny though, and came to her house while she was farming and asked her to prom. They had their 60th wedding anniversary a few years ago and are still going strong, they visit Hindman still several times a year. Love you granny and papa.
Sundy Best seen several times with my baby girl I'm grateful for that in the most way. True soul music I never will ever get tired of listening to. I miss you all!
