It actually looks good; the smaller rings coupled with the sloping top tube gives it a gravel bike appearance, a little more robust. The square taper parts are vintage and still functional.
@@BruceChastain Yep, I live in Clermont and we have some nice hills. Best is Sugarloaf Mountain. But you are going to find some great climbing in Colorado. I'm originally from Maine where where we have hills and mountains.
The 36 is too small. You'll need at least a 40 or 42. I now run a 38 and is too small for group rides and for when I want to go fast downhill or even on flat terrain.

3:00 To get more leverage, I always use a 60 cm stainless steel pipe fitting perfectly over the Allen key, and I put my foot on the pedal. Perfect.
yeah I've actually done something like that before too.
Eu queira ter uma deza bicicleta 😥😥😥👀
is there hills in florida or what? tried a MTB crank on a roadbike but the catenary was subpar...
I'm going to Colorado soon, so that's the only reason for doing this. If I were just to ride in Florida, totally no need.
@@BruceChastainWant hills in Florida? Come to Central Florida (west of Orlando). We have hills. Not mountains but respectable hills at 12% grades
@@ArmandGirard yes I've visited some of them, really really wish I lived like in Clermont.

I'm thinking about doing a follow up video in a few weeks to talk about if 36t was too small.
why not put a three by on the front ?
I wouldn't mind doing that, but I don't have one, and the shifter is a 2x.
38 ftw
I feel like that would be a great ring size
