Given the fact that she is ("technically at least) Canadian its not surprising that Mylene's English is as good as it is but her speaking English is such a rarity so its good to hear. She's also got a very dirty laugh !!

She was only 8 when her parents moved back to France, so it's very unlikely that she already spoke English back then. If she did, I guess her level was extremely basic. Besides, she said in early interviews that she understood English better than she spoke it. It should also be noted that according to Jean-Claude Dequéant, one of the reasons why "Bad Girl" (the English version of "Libertine") was never released is that Mylène's English was not very good. She really became fluent after spending a year in California, working on the album "Anamorphosée".
Who cares. The woman is 60 and is still working, super successful and people love her and what she does. Her impact on people’s lives is positive and she lives her life by her own rules, without causing harm to anyone. Who gives a damn about anything else

Its more impressive because she moved and lived in france from a young age
