May be small, but not every even modern ARPG has this detail. - 100% free cosmetics for items: done purely for ingame currency, and actually super cheap. You pay only and only for the game itself.
I started playing Grim Dawn as an option for Path of Exile and Diablo 3, but currently, it is my main ARPG game with more than 3000 hours played. I really enjoy it a lot.
I picked it up a couple of months ago. Love it! I have searched for arpg genre games the last several years to replace D3. POE was always on the top tier lists, among many others, but I rarely saw this….which is weird. It’s an excellent game in its own right, and a star among arpgs.
I bought Diablo 4, played it for maybe 5 hours, got bored. Then I launched Grim Dawn. It's SO much better. Actual quests, more immersion, more hotkeys for the spells, vibrant color palette, everything is just so much better.
my first build was Chaos Witch hunter (Occultist/Nightblade) phantasmal blades as my main attack combined with sigil, you can truly make any build you can think of
The soundtrack of Grim Dawn is simply amazing. If you have any appreciation for VGM, especially something darker or somber, please check out the work done by Steve Pardo here. High recommendations for "Story Told", "Lonely Moon", and "Foot pf Earth" especially.
Dont forget the best mod of all: Community league! Base game with a ladder, new endgame grinds and bosses to fight and balanced new items. Season 4 (starting on the 17) adds a whole new act, a new dungeon and scaling dungeons
Great game but enemy scaling mechanics is kinda overdone imo when it doesnt really matter if you farm exp or rush through. I still consider it best "new" arpg game and its gonna be 7 years old soon... we need more quality games like this!
7) Side contents may respond to what class you're playing. Order of Death's Vigil and Coven of Ugdenbog won't give me a lukewarm welcome because my subclass was Inquisitor, yet I can join those two faction with no issue. This little detail made me feel like I'm a part of the game. 8) you can play with 1 class or even no class thru out the entire game. 9) It's better to waste $65 for the base game, a game mode, and 2 expansion, and then take your time to become a god, than playing Diablo Immoral, which you must play at least in 10 years straight like a god damn full-time job or spent over $500k to become a god. Which one you're gonna choose?
Grim dawn was probably one of the last games ever made were the developers actually cared about product over marketing and it has payed off for them. This game is a hidden gem and is aging like a fine whine that more and more people keep finding out about!
@@nandofgh I’m glad you’re enjoying it! I have over 700 hours in and it still fun. If you like the setting and atmosphere of this game hunt showdown is another gem I’ve come across but it is pvp pve! It’s 15 bucks on steam atm and I can’t stop playing this one either!
Yeah i mean many people said its best arpg rn and as well they said seems like devs of this game really love their community so. I am playing it and really love it
All 3 main DLCs are a must-have (Ashes of Malmoth, Forgotten Gods, Crucible). The Steam Loyalist Items Pack DLC is purely cosmetic transmog look for your items, you can get it later just to support the incredible indie studio behind the game. You can also hop at my Twitch streams where I'm playing GD often - www.twitch.tv/sinitarg
Hey man, great video ! I was wondering though, what the other class you're rolling alongside with your inquisitor is ?! The build looks extremely powerful !
@@SinitarG Thanks for the reply, its much appreciated ! And i look forward to seeing your builds, especially this one if you still play it. Or feel like showing it off.
The thing I love about Grim Dawn is that you can be one-hit at any moment, no matter how strong and durable you think you are. Lost dozen of hardcore characters in all of the difficulties
@@awfulfalafelwafflerofl2800 Some builds yes but some won't be 1-hit but still doe very fast. It's good because you don't want the game to be too easy, it would take all the fun out of making good builds which is the whole point of the game
my only problem is the static map. makes rerolling a new character seem less fun because the map is exactly the same as last time. if thats not a problem for you though I totally recommend trying this game out. its definatly one of my top 3 favourite arpg's out there.
It's less fun running into wall after wall, it adds up in a arpg same with armor repair item space and stash space ect. For me the geography across the big and small map in relation to the compas is spot on. Its easy enough to get lost again on a new play though but have some navigational prowess is more fun. And things like gradients over and under passes, side areas bridges all look fantastic with the rotating camera to find secrets. There are some only 3 players world wide have found. Imo differnt game ideology but grim dawn is better for me, tho I like both for different reasons.
I have like 900 hours in the game on Steam and probably 1100 on xbox. While I prefer the comfort of playing the game on xbox, it is definitely inferior because you can't install mods for the game. I definitely don't use a lot of mods on the pc version but I got so used to them that it's hard playing without them.
Remember how games used to be? Before microtransactions, egregious monetization, pay to win, games-as-services, and turning players into payers? Back when studios consisted of nerds wanting to make great games and not just business sharks wanting more money? Grim Dawn remembers.
Yeah true. I love this game. Though i am really bored from games and i have depression which take some of my life powers too but i am planing keep to play this game its so fun
Do you suggest this game even if i dont really like the genre? The only game of the same kind i've ever played is Sacred Gold Edition, which i still play from time to time. But the other ones, Diablo, Path of Exile... they fail to amuse me. Is this the game that you would suggest to show the beauty of the genre?
Well, I won't say "ofc I do!" when you're putting it exactly like that, ahah. Sacred is great yes, I still replay it from time to time myself. As for you question once again - I can only say that, if you just love experimenting with the character builds, Grim Dawn, as I've mentioned in the review, is probably the most fun game of them all by far. Try yourself and see. You can also ask for some advice in our Discord :)
add dawn of masteries and you can play as characters in all of the other RPGs, only Grim Dawn has this flexibility. never come across a game with this capability.
It's a wide question I think, but for sure, it's noticeably less repetitive - already only because locations are hand-drawn and has no procedural generation.
Your pronunciation of the word "grind" is unique (and wrong) but it's understandable since you have the correct pronunciation of "grim" in "grimdawn". Use Google to see how it's pronounced :-). Awesome video + 1like & sub.
Using Vortex you will only break your game :P And you don't need a mod manager to begin with to install just a few mods where installation is as simple as drag and drop. Also, it's strongly recommended to get GD mods from the Crate forums directly, not from nexusmods. Some mods are being furtherly updated only on forums, while nexusmods version are outdated.

*Me, playing Grim Dawn since launch*
Hmm, yes, let's watch this video
That’s when you know it’s good
Tried it earlier this year and been playing it since. Such a great underrated game. It deserves much more coverage/recognition in the arpg genre.
Grim Dawn was amazing, I would say easily the best ARPG of its time, thank you for giving it a review in 2022
My pleasure!
Gona play this shit today. Had it bought for over 2 years with all the expansions but didn't plat it yet. Now is the time I guess.
Okay, lv. 31. Playing on Veteran mode and this game is just amazing.
The "spiritual successor" to Diablo 2 that fans have been pining about for years.

How do you have more than 120 days in one singleplayer game?
Easily, in this case :P

1000 hours already, still like it so much.
A note about the monster infrequints (MIs, that are target farmable), you can see the monsters using the item if they have it to drop.
I never noticed that - nice!
Great Game! 850 hours here!
That's some solid numbers! Already with mods or still without?
@@SinitarG No mods, i did play in a grim dawn league recently though. Theres info about the league on the official forums

I've never played Grim Dawn but it sounds like it'd be a good game. 🙂
Somehow this game flew under my radar for so long. I'll definitely try it soon

This game is so addictive and start to make sens at act 2 imo. The first act is where I think a lot of people would give up

Already have 500+ hours of game play and still playing when I have free time, also you can play with other 3 players together
