Bringing Dad's Classic Chevy Back to Life: 1957 Bel Air Story

  • We had a customer wanting to get their 1957 Chevy Bel Air back in running condition and preserve the patina look. EVERYTHING is original on this car and it has a long ways to go before it can run and drive. Iron Horse Garage get's the 283 engine tore down and put back together, better than it was from the factory.
There is a cool storyline to this. The father gave this car to the daughter when it was in very rough shape and sat for over 33 years. Last time it ran was in 1990. After the car is back up and running, the customer will transport it from Idaho to California, and surprise her father with his old car. All the kids get to go for another ride with the parents just like back in the day.

I'm the dad that got the benefit of both your shop and the machine shop's attention to detail. Thanks to you and my fantastic family I will have a memory that will last forever. I can't believe you and my son-in-law and daughter accomplished this in such a short time. Thanks to all who were involved!!!

Great job! We appreciate all you did and working with our timeline! Seeing how happy my dad was these past few days was so worth it. He had to get in and tinker around with everything and has watched this video several times with a huge grin on his face. My mom was so emotional...she loved having all of us together and seeing how happy it made my dad. We can't wait to put it in a few car shows and just enjoy some riding around in it!

I was 15 years old when I first drove it and my brother taught me how to drive that three on the tree! I’m now 65 years old. Seeing his face light up was priceless. Thank you for getting the car ready so quick so our family could share the memories together.
