Amazing how guitar- esque his bass sounds. Its like a guitar with the low end punch of a bass. Pretty obvious statement lol but still
Its true tho, i came to check out this live performance to see if i can find out how his bass has this rich sound. Maybe its the effect units, but i dont know much about (bass) guitars and effects, only drums.

I'm a dinosaur but this is some of the best hard rock I've heard since the 70's
most musicians i saw live concerts of pick up the pace when they have to play in front of huge crowds. Royal blood on the other hand are so freakin good on point with the tempo, which really helps to keep the groove of the music. In other words: outstanding musicians
It just happens that they play along to a click/metronome. Great musicians nonetheless.
A lot of bands increase the tempo to make the songs sound more energetic. Most of the time by only like 5-10bpm or so

I just heard this song out in public today, and it's the first song in a long time that actually made me wanna look up what it was.
There's definitely a 'Cliff Burton-esque' sound coming from that bass. Proper job.

There is definitely a backing track . They are brilliant but the fact it's just bass and drums with some effects doesn't bulk it out enough. Where are the backing vocals coming from? The drummer isn't singing.

I was there best live act I've ever seen
damn I really hope these guys become the next great rock band. Not some generic band that's gonna be forgotten in a couple years. Idk why, but I kinda think they have the potential for it. But that's just me.

James Wood they need to start experimenting with more instruments in the next album tho, coz three albums of the same stuff is a bit dead, like imagine trying to listen to 30-40 royal blood songs consecutively, not as good as with other bands........next album will be meh if they don't extend there writing onto new effects or instruments.

I tend to agree with OP, their set-up doesn't necessarily allow a wide area for experimentation. Given that their current formula is working, I don't think they can stray from their current sound a lot.
Maybe it's because I've never played any instrument and am not any music enthusiast, but to me all their songs sound different, only like 2-4 are similar.. But none are the same
