Man, I knew LRG was a mixed bag, but jeez. Yeah, they've got a few home runs like Arzette and (hopefully) Gex Trilogy. But between the employee fired for clashing political views and now this, it really is a pity.
Even if these worked on 3DO, this is a huge scam. I'm glad you made a video about this topic.
Really crazy
Limited CDRs lol. I first started to have a issue with this company when they released the DOOM classic collection
Video game bubble is going to burst again
I hope so, lotta titles I’d like to pick up
I quit buying from them when they fired a girl for posting a harmless conservative leaning twitter post.
Same
What did the post say?
SAME. Really showed their true colors.
@@dc9662 The community manager basicly said that she's excited to play Hogwarts Legacy, and she was also following Ben Shapiro on twitter. She was then labeled as "transphobic" and LRG fired her.
That is why I decided to never buy from them. The agitators were also mad that she followed Libs of Tik Tok. Not anything she tweeted, just who she followed.
Stopped buying from them when it took 2 years to deliver a game that they estimated would deliver in like 6 months.
Would it be a bad idea to start a new company that does pressed licensed repros of CD based games both rerelease and homebrew as well as replicating wobbles on systems like the PS1, Saturn, Gamecube, and PS2?
If you haven't already watched the mrixrt video, The Truth About Limited Run Games, you really should.
Yikes!! I've put music albums out on CD-R before, but the $2.00 price reflected the quality of the music and then"pressing"
I've got both Intellivision DJC albums (one of the protos, one of the productions)... i never opened them yet, hope it wasn't a cheapo CD-R... with the way DJC is, its probably a flamingo turd inside. I hoping there will be a volume 2.
My copy of D is en route. I am not happy to see this. I may be done with LRG.
If true, that's very disappointing. Now I gotta think twice about getting that Rondo of Blood release they're planning 😐
how could they possibly think they could get away with this when their customer base is a bunch of nerds🤷♂️
"Picky collector nerds" at that, LOL.
This may be some kind of slightly underhanded budget cut tactic on LRG's part for games that don't get sufficient pre-order numbers prior to cut-off dates. They may not set out to use CD-Rs initially, but if there are only a couple hundred orders for a given game, the sales revenue won't be enough to afford proper disc pressing (you have to remember that pressed discs are now a luxury and an "inconvenience" for all modern media, so they're actually more expensive to produce nowadays than they were thirty years ago). Still, this is the kinda thing where transparency on the publisher's part can be tricky, but they could probably put a little more effort into properly disclosing the fact that customers are getting glorified bootlegs...
After what they did to a certain conservative girl, I have not purchased any game from LRG. WF is just as complicit for keeping ties with them.
I stopped buying from them years ago. Will never purchase from them again.
Ridiculous
Wouldn't be surprised, Limited Run is a terrible woke company
"Woke"?
That word has officially lost all meaning.
@@SomeOrangeCat Come on, we all know what it means. The one thing we have in common on both sides that we're sick of hearing about it. Considering all the ideology does is further divide people and is woefully unprofitable in a commercial sense, perhaps none of us will have to put up with it for much longer.
@@mediamoshpit Unprofitable? You mean, like Barbie?
@@theodorerelic2718 One movie does not a trend make. Every other movie on the other hand... That being said, while Barbie wasn't my jam, I'm very glad women/girls got their movie to go along side our endless parade of Joe-Former fare. I remember how much those meant to me when they were new.
