I think this is among the best videos to come out of Carl’s! I learned so much. Painted crash var, hold and silver leaf. Gas cap with primer syringe, unique paint for that year and pin stripe detail to Belen’s the two paint color boundary’s. Matt & Brittney’s voices are so distinct, each a verbal character narrative about this great old motorcycle. Excellent!!!👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉.
Love it guys! Such a great paint scheme, definitely better than the green and silver in my opinion. The 36 and 37 are the only ones I consider owning! Best shape I’d say. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to the tech stuff
That is fantastic news. Congrats. 38 was the pinnacle of harley. It has been a slow burning descent since then. If you need any help or advice, email the shop
That's one beautiful Knucklehead. Never seen that paint scheme before but it really works well together. Love all the little details and differences you point out in your videos. And always real cool music too.
What a great job you have done with that good looking Knuckle. I had the chance last year to buy a restored 95% + original 46 EL. I take it out for a ride every few weeks and love it. Merry Christmas to you all from Down Under.
Thank you so much for posting such informative videos! I had no idea all those special features for the early Knuckleheads. Sure wish I had a priming gas cap for my XLH!
lol that’s exactly what my husband said! The riding shots sound mostly windy lol but I promise we have a short video in the works with us kicking the bike over for you! It’s a dream boat for sure!!! Such a great handling machine and just purs! lol I tried starting it with fish slippers on so be on the watch for the kickstart video! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🥰✨
Man, I'm sure enjoying your videos! Thank you! Can I ask how much you charge for building one of these beautiful knuckleheads? I need to start saving my money!
Hi! It can be confusing. Dale Walkser from The Wheels Through Time Museum has a son named Matt & Carl Olsen of Carl’s Cycle Supply also has a son named Matt. Both Matt’s are best friend and were groomsmen in each others weddings. The baby boy is Matt Olsen’s son. Confusing I know but what can I say, Matt’s a popular name! Thank you for the kind comment on the knuckle! We here at Carls Cycle Supply are family owned restoration shop and it’s what we specialize in. Matt Walkser and the Wheels Through Time Museum have an amazing UA-cam channel on here if you haven’t seen his videos yet, you should search them up! They always are doing such great work too and such fun things!! If you havent subscribed to them yet, you really should! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@carlscyclesupply ...thank you for the lengthy comment guys, I appreciate that. I definitely have been subscribed to wheels thru time a long time now, I watched dales TV show back in the day when I used to watch TV. Nothing good on there now. I subscribed to your channel too man. I love these older harleys. I watch tatro machine alot too, he is a wizard with this stuff, as well as Billy lane, and indian larry, rip, is all I watched growing up and still do.
It makes me kind of sick because I missed out on the old bikes I've always driven motorcycle since Young I had many different kinds but the only Harley I had was a 1956 125 I bought it a garage sale for 75 bucks and it was in beautiful original condition I sold it for $300 back in about 1993 but missed out on a 1947 Chief full dress that was in a barn I was painting,😢 I was a barn painter in Wisconsin I didn't have the money for it it was in 1994 the old farmer parked it there after the war and he would have sold it to me I was poor never had a bank loan in my life and I had a wife and four kids we were living in a log cabin in the woods I built
LOL they’re so proud of their harley that they’ll never admit they’ve been behind all along, 1. Motorcycle, 1. American motorcycle, 1. Superbike with OHV in series, 1. Fastest, 1. World-touring, 1. Whatever - The europeans have done it before, and later we know all the japanese kicked everybodie’s bottom. the Knuckle is a great, a killer bike in the US, the first time Harley leap-frogged Indian by a long shot opening a new era, while already ringing the bell on Indian’s decline. Europeans continued in wars, racing and in day-to-day live with more practical and performant bikes. You just need no Bus on 2 wheels to pick up your bread at the bakery. It had been proven on the global circuits until the late 60s early 70s. Indians made an impact initially, for a short period. The vehicle war was won by jeep over motorcycles of any kind. That pack was lead by the R75 easily, thus HD/Indian tried to figure their versions of it. The R75 still stands, as a R1300 and HD coming to stay far behind in pain aimerica.
Hey GiancarloBenzina. This is Brittney, I’m still recovering from a concussion but I have one thing to say. That’s cool and all about those R series bikes but did they have pivoting foot boards or pegs on their bikes in the 30s, I think not. lol got to keep the trivial rivalry alive somehow!
GiancarloBenzina pretty obvious you didnt understand the video , so ill explain. Its all about restoring a beautiful machine / piece of American history by a very knowledge family who is willing to share there knowledge with anyone who would like to listen, even fools like you .
Wow it’s beautiful…
Thank you kindly 🥰🫶
Nicely done,Greetings from Tampa Florida 😎

About at what serial number did the notched early '36 gear cover change to flat sided?
Hi Northerniltree, 1165 is the earliest mid cam cover Matt has seen but have also seen notched cam covers up into the early 300s
Looks fantastic...do you make and restore for sale?
nice bike. will this end up in some rich guy's collection or in a museum?
Nope just a guy who loves old motorcycles
that sounds good.@@carlscyclesupply
