  • The latest slot car released by POLICAR and it's part of their home racers series.
How well does the "budget" slot car go.
Thank you to ARMCHAIR RACER for sending me this incredible slot car for review.

That slot car guy I like your videos. I will actually like if you can show us the vents on the body and what is actually functional vents and what is not.
As part of the hobby that I enjoy the most is making the vents work, opening the intakes and place grids on the intakes.

Nice review Trav Regardless that the car is a budget car choose either no lights or if you have lights do it correctly.I understand certain cars don’t have them to keep prices down like BRM etc and I’m happy they do that but if you are going to have them don’t do it half a**e

I kinda agree but I'm still pretty happy it has some lights, I try and look at th positives in most things but that's just me 🤣 but I understand where you're coming from

It’s budget because it’s a reliveried Chinese AGM slot car. AGM also manufacture the Policar track. They do go well though.

I would say the price would also make it a budget car. But you are right it absolutely goes well

We have asked Slot.it for a response which is below and explains the differences between the two models.
"It is true that the body comes from a mould from AGM, the company which makes the Policar track for us. The moulds for the track are fully owned by Policar.
However, in order to improve the quality of the cars, we have invested in a specific chassis which is unique to the Policar version.
We have done so, in order to use our own Slot.it shaft, rear bushings, plastic wheels and tyres, to create a very smooth running model.
The motor is also upgraded to around 18K RPM @12v, compared to the AGM one.
I agree, it goes well, maybe unsurprisingly given the use of the running gear from Slot.it and Policar.
The price difference is due to the parts and the investment in the chassis but, also, to the complexity of the decorations.
We've kept the AGM pickup which we find very fitting for the average home user. "

I have been looking into these as they cost the same as the Scalextric start cars but are way better in spec. I have the Scalextric start rally car and that is really nice to drive but it requires a lot of modification to run without a magnet, the motor and bushings need to be glued and the body floated. This looks better and is way more performance focused.

Good review Travis. Some reviewers suggest loosening the 4 chassis screws to increase a slight body roll to improve cornering on this model. Your thoughts on this body roll tuning?

The easiest way is to loosen screw which I agree with them..you can also shave the body but that could also hinder you if you take too much off

When you did the preview video I hoped it was a fast car. Glad to see it lived up to its expectations. Way to drop the ball by not hooking up the lights though lmao. I’m sure it messed with the over all performance of the car. Lmao

Do you need to solder the wires or do those connectors work with the Carrera chip?
