Further research shows that this car did also race at Watkins Glen but this is the Road America version. Slot-it's website says:- Jeff Courtney Racing Team raced the Maserati GT4 in several races of the US National Championship 2018. The model reproduces the main sponsor’s Kenda livery, as it was seen on the car driven by Jeff Courtney at Road America.
Thanks for adding vent detail like I asked. Really appreciate it. Over here in South Africa we mainly get carrera and scalextric but can special import other brands. I used to have a slot.it ferrari f40 totip lemans kit but got so busted up back in the days when beer was a essential part of slot racing. One of my favourites. One of my other faves was the front mounted engine rear wheel drive m3 grt from fly that I brought back from the UK. Also beer slot racing brought an end to that car. 2 classics lost forever.
Your review helped me decide to order this car from MrSlotcar in August for my birthday. The plan was to visit the shop, Unfortunately covid travel restrictions have blocked it such that l still haven't been able to collect it as l live in a Melbourne suburb about 30km away.
Did yours come with push on front rims? My sons wheels fall off constantly so had to use the spare rims on the front with the screw to stop them from falling off all the time. It is certainly a quick car out of the box though.
That's a very good slot car, Travis. A longer wheel base always helps. I suspect, but don't know, that you could have attacked the track a bit harder - too early braking at the end of the long straightaway and then too late back on the throttle? I find a dozen warm up laps helps to get a good throttle feel and therefore a 'zone' cadence in finding the limits? I suspect there's a < 9.6 sec in that car OOB and on that track and that you can do it. Let us know if you can? Cooler ambient temperature sometimes helps. It's been 31C where I live (12 miles south of Silverstone) this weekend and performance certainly drops outdoors in the heat of the midday sun. Otherwise, thanks once again.
G'day mate and I absolutely agree this car is very good. In regards to warm up laps I do put a couple down to get a feel of the car but all my tests I do need to be fair, out of the box and into 5 laps. I completely agree there is most definitely a low to mid 9's for this car but it would be fair to say every other car I test would also have more time in it given the chance. I think you have given a great idea for a video where the viewers choose the car and slowly we modify it and see how much faster we can go. Mate thanks for watching and as always any feedback is wanted and listened too
Nice one - what was the verdict on the spare wheels? From memory it ships with plastic wheels and they have added alu wheels for you to swap out - is that correct?
That’s a very cool video 😎 thank you for the information. Just like to if the car comes with front lights and brakes lights too. Can you please include the name of the chip. All the best
Well done! Packaging 'errors' can be a point of collectability in slot cars, like most items, it really comes down to how desirable the car is. Great video! Keep going!
I don't think the error on the packaging is unique to your car. Mine has it too, so it's likely to be a general error. A surprisingly fast car, thought it should equal the DTM cars from Slot it but this is more Group C performance.
Thank u, I will wait. Another question. I am new to Carrera and slots. I just bought and set up double victory 1:24. Love it. I also bought new Mercedes AMG, blue one. If I wanted to race competitively, would I ever replace engine? If so, how do u find and decide and figure what runs on system? I am a novice. Really enjoy ur videos, very helpful.
G'day John and thanks for watching mate. Great set you bought. If you are wanting to race competitively I recommend checking in with your local track to see what rules they are running, this will then allow you to practice at home with the legal setup. If you don't have a local track there is plenty of online slotcar forums available with threads about racing setup and rules. I personally would have a few racers with the stock cars and slowly upgrade the car starting with tyres. 😊😊😊
When talking about the size of the car may be compare it to another car most of the viewers know Similar to you showing the different size of 1/24 to 1/32 scale Cool review
Great idea, I think I say in the video I was going but I didn't 🤣 It's hard with 1/32 as some companies stay with the +3 range and some don't so I think I will use a model in the future that I'm confident is close to 1:1 of the original... thoughts
A fantastic car like all Slot It cars. But not widely available in Australia through my local suppliers. Also means newbies end up with cars not as good as Slot It.
Thanks Travis for your review. After a bit of research, it would appear that this car did race at Road America as per the plinth. For brief details see here:- racer.com/2018/06/24/christensen-takes-pwc-gt-win-james-sweeps-gts-races-at-road-america/ You will need to scroll down to near the bottom.

Love the videos mate! not enough slot car content in Aus so keep it up. The Slot It cars are crazy good too, especially this beast.
Thanks mate 😊
Best cars out there. Love the slot-it range.
I'm a big fan
@@thatslotcarguy I’m bout to get the gt40 hopefully

🤣🤣🤣 beer racing.
Man south African that is amazing, thanks for watching
@@thatslotcarguy slots and beer is like socks and shoes. You can slot without beer just like you can have closed shoes without socks. But hell no!
🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@thatslotcarguy That will be my first venture into having a slot.it car.
I don't think you will be disappointed
Hi Travis wow it flys , the car got faster fantastic work today regards rhys watsonia
Our summer's gone now but yours will be on the way :) Have you thought on how to 'notch' this Masa into the low nines on your track?
Sadly this cars has gone to its new owner...was my 1k giveaway car

I don't think it did
What a rocket, great upload mate.

Aluminium is the spare
I believe that's correct. The fitted rear wheels are plastic.

OK, you may have sold one here -- I was kinda waiting on the GT3 release, but what the heck...
I maybe doing a giveaway 😉

Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe .. .
Thank you legend ☺️
Awesome video car show man
why the intro music so loud bladebla have to move my beer arm to reduce then bring back up on blabber ????
The program I use sometimes renderers the music to whatever level it wants 😭

I do believe the first batch will have the potential error
How can you modify it for Carerra digital system?
In the video I show the universal chip for Carrera, I will be doing a video on this topic very soon

It is a shame but hopefully these videos create more interest in Australia which in turn hopefully more shops will stock
and take magnets out not proper slot racing with magnets
Each to there own I would say mate.... But let's be real here I'm testing the cars as purchased so I'm not testing them as a race car 😁
