Armix/kraum has a really similar utility package to niv mizzet with both card draw and creature removal in the command zone. You trade effectiveness in both of those for an extra color and easier casting, but it’s a very interesting similarity
One very small thing I wanted to point out is that because armix's ability says give -x/-x to target creature defending player controls they can't redirect the ability away to Amy creature but one of there own. If they only have the 1 creature they won't be able to Deflecting swat or misdirection at all.
Man that deck is right up my alley! I might have to start building this, I love the versatile/"midrangey" Grixis playstyle. Great break down guys and im looking forward to seeing more from this series
SECRET RANDOM BONUS OF THIS DECK: Armix and Kraum can bond over being misfit children. Breya is Armix's mama, Ludevic is Kraums papa. Look at em now. That proud moment when your children become top tier.
People seem way too high on twister. I do not understand why some decks play that card when they do not try to be the fastest and they do not even run payoffs. They seem to remember only the times when they could drop their hands after going first. Very interesting list and awesome discussion. I will put boots in my malcolm deck.
I love partners. I wish they would finish the cycle of Partners they started in 2016 so that all the colour pairings have equal choices ATM some have less than others. Cool combination. I recently made a fun Cleric Mardu deck with Ravos and Toggo. Commanders with repeatable removal abilities are amazing. I have one other weirdly paired partners deck, Akiri Line slinger and Tvesh Szat, doom of fools. I found it super interesting that the deck originally used Tymna but would run out of gas and than I switched Tymna to Tvesh and now the deck always pops. Crazy how a single card can really change the deck :P
Have he tried Corpse Dance instead of Shallow Grave? It has the upsides of going infinite with Dockside? Also better in a grindy game. Great idea for a video, I also think that people are way too entrenched with the Ddb that it's suffocates creativity and prohibits evolving our meta.
intrigued to build for this but the overlap between cards to my current main deck is a bit high, i will look into armix and potential partners tho. great video i will follow you
I will definitely be building and testing this list! Nice work! Curious what your thoughts are on trying abrade in the list? If nothing else, it helps in the mirror LOL
There was a version of this on the ddb earlier but I guess it got outdated. Either way as I had this commander pair during the mlc I can definitely vouch for their power :) I also love how kraum compliments armix since without draw power armix falls of hard over time
Hey guys, how about DRC or Ragavan? Rag helps armix//rituals into big spells and DRC filters wins and has GY synergy. You also get more consistent access to your sac creature spells.
@Mikeyjh72 right on, I made the comment half way through. I understand why, but I feel like if the cute entomb shallow grave stuff isn’t someone’s play style, DRC could be a solid add. Doing similar stuff with citadel as necromancy. I’ve been considering a swap to this deck but hadn’t found anyone as a good resource til you came around! Thanks guys!
@Mikeyjh72 no doubt, I haven’t liked it in blue farm much. But I feel like sometimes trashing an extra artifact, could be incidentally good. Along with the game ending potential of citadel and trashing your lands while you’re going. I’ll be testing it for now.
It would be nice to see you run through sone mulligans quickly at the end to show what kind of hand you are looking for beyond T1 Commander and the thought process :)
@Mikeyjh72 Thanks for clearing that up - Thrasios sounds fun! I wonder if there is Grixis Armix polymorph list out there, as they both utilize rocks as part of their strategy…
I just started into Cedh and have started diving into new content creators. Your videos are full of information and have started making me question some of the choices in my deck. This is a really cool series and I look forward to seeing more unique decks.

Yo Ian! I just piloted this deck today. Armix is a powerhouse! Thank you for brewing this masterpiece!
All the credit here goes to Mikey. He is a really bright brewer!

Love the thumbnail bruv ❤️
Haven’t finished watching but two of the absolute best people I know in cEDH together? I know it’s going to be lit

I thought my 11/11 Shabraz was safe until Mikey played his Dockside...
Really dig this series! Always great to hear from people about new decks on the rise before they make their appearance on the DDB. Hope to see more!

LETS GO
Well I guess I have to throw this deck together now
Great video both. The deck looks amazing, good job Mikey.
Love these 2 good bois. Now I'll leave it to the imagination if I'm talking about Ian and Mikey or Armix and Kraum. 😉
I'll take either or both 🤣

How would you keep killing DS to use corpse dance againnnnn and again on it? I’m missing something
This deck is friggin cool, i just built this with a few differences from mikeys list
Is there a place I can watch some game play of this deck ? It looks so sweet!

Is there any game play of this exact list anywhere? Also I need to have this in my life
Ian AND Mikey? Awesome stuff!
This deck is my bane. Really good deck guys, try it out.

Been watching a bunch of cedh games and was curious why people don't play deadly rollick for removal
Definitely playable but it's mostly the high mana vost adding up for ad nauseum decks
Bring this series backkkk
Wow baby faced ian lol I just stumbled on this one thought it was new for some reason!
Confused. I saw this in the MLC.
Did it fall off? Was it brewers corner?
It was and it fell off
Oh yeah booooy!!! Great series
Blue farm who?
.
.
.
.
This list looks like it TEARS majority of the current meta up!
Such a cool deck!
I wonder if this list is what put Zack from PwP on Grixis CounterTop 😹
@Mikeyjh72 Thanks for clearing that up - Thrasios sounds fun! I wonder if there is Grixis Armix polymorph list out there, as they both utilize rocks as part of their strategy…
@Mikeyjh72 Agreed. I wasn’t thinking Armix Kraum, rather Armix X. But the infinite many outlet plus access to blue is tricky.
Seems like he went back on his time twister ideology, and the new list has dramatic reversal with no scepter...but why?
best dudeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Hi Mikey you're cute
@Mikeyjh72 come one over. san diego is great =)
