Basically Opera they can make a normal conversation a master piece, I can imagine those guy talking about constipation while doing service
The arias in La Boheme between Rodolfo (Pavarotti) and Mimi (d'Amico) in "Che gelida manina" and "Si, Mi chiamo Mimi", respectively, and of course "O soave fanciulla" are some of opera's best. Here, Pav is 51 yrs old and still has the singing power of a 25 yr old!
Fiamma d'Amico's performance here is, imho, so under-rated and not appreciated as she is paired w The Maestro. But....but, this aria by d'Amico is one of the best interpretations I've heard. And her voice is gorgeous. Its not forced at all and she modulates between highs ans lows beautifully that you fall in love with her as she captures your heart. She's so feminine in this role, so vulnerable, that she pulls off the best Mimi I've seen and heard. Here's to you Fiamma d'Amico.
Bellissima regia ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Pavarotti diction was precision, incision shaply define. Che bravo bravo molto bene-!!!!
Despite Pavorotti's brilliance, we surely cannot overlook La Stupenda Fiamma's touching performance as Mimi that is a match for her Rodolfo!
I agree completely.
What amazes me here is that Fiamma was born in 1964. That makes her 22 years old when this was recorded, thirty years junior to the great Pavarotti. How intimidated must she have been to stand along side and yet hold her own against this global talent.
"Sì. Mi chiamano Mimì" this part always gets me
Look at that smile on Pavarotti’s face at 29:57 or so! That’s not in the script - that’s him fascinated at how well she performed - « I’m supposed to be the star here but she beat me at my own game and I’m DELIGHTED! »
The surge of desire surrounds me
Thank you so much for this content
It doesn’t get any better than this! Thanks.
Thank you .. Great Boheme

Maybe the best recording of Pavaroti in this stage of his career
A very young Luciano Pavarotti he has a very powerful voice the perfect Rodolfo what a beautiful opera La Boheme is the Ultimate love story the music is sublime

Clap and shout whenever you want? Take pictures (with flash) whenever you want? What on earth is happening here? Have all the ushers gone to sleep?
I was thinking the same thing. This isn’t a three tenors performance
...that's an hysterical observation and so very true...)))
That's how opera was traditionally watched, especially in Italy (minus the pictures)
That's what audiences are like in Italy. I think the spontaneous applause and strong, extroverted reaction to the singing adds to the experience
Well, as a Chinese myself, it's regrettable to see that the Chinese audience at the time could not follow the modern concert etiquette as those in the West. It feels as if they were still living in the nineteenth century. However, I can assure you that people there now have much better manners than decades ago.
Is this the version he performed in China?
I don't now,
but it's a wonderful performance.
Greetings!🤗
Yes, it is!
