    I watched this interview years ago. Had to come back and watch it following the sad news. Warney meant a lot to the cricket world. Thanks for the memories Shane.

    He was so honest about his mistakes and humble about his success. Flawed but human as we all are

    Always knew he was a great cricketer but since his loss, having watched the interviews with Leigh Sales, Tracey Holmes and now this I didn't realise, even with his failings along the way, he was just a really good bloke ... talented beyond compare but still humble and self effacing ... if there is a God, in today's world, there's so many he could knock over with a heart attack and we'd be screaming with joy ... as it is we've missed out big time ...

      Interesting question, if you had to pick one player from any era to strengthen your side, who would you pick:-Bradman, Sobers, or Warne?

    • @alisher126
      @alisher126 Рік тому

      @@captpicard6894 ❤️. Would pick Shane any day of the week. Think he could bowl half of any team out...plus I am biased. I lived in London in the early 90s, and watched him in his pomp. Warnie gave so much pleasure - you know if he was on, Australia could come back from any position!!? Since he retired, and subsequently passed, never really had a thrill for cricket again. One in a billion, God given talent, and his own Aussie grit!!! Tc

      @@alisher126 totally agree, with Warney in the side even if all the batsmen failed and he was bowling to a total of 150 or less to win on the last day of the test, you always felt he could get 6-30 and basically win the game single-handed.

    What a brilliant interview by both parties - the best in history at their trades. Brutally honest and a wonderfully personal insight into the mind and personality of the greatest bowler that cricket has ever seen. Bravo and kudos to both men. Parkinson reminds us all of what the art of interviewing is all about, as compared to the fatuous publicity shows that masquerade as interviews today.
    Just compare this to any episode of Graham Norton's drivel.
