f*ck i hope they give him a role of like the old veteran coming back to say how do we fight kaiju in the originins when the new characters of the 2nd and 3rd movie will be at low mental
A fourth option is that he and Mako got married, had a kid or two, and Raleigh bowed out to be a dad. They were looking very well bonded and may have gone down the road that the Cherno Alpha crew did.
That might be true, but at the end of the Pacific Rim, the two never kissed. Instead, they touched foreheads. I took that as a sign that they were friends but not romantically involved with each other. It was a nice director's trick where Guillermo del Toro was basically saying that he's straying away from the typical romance in action movies.
I feel like that was just him trying to avoid the romantic trope of the whole "kiss when the day is saved" kinda thing. He also purposely shot the kwoon scene with the intention of making it like a sex scene. Before he decided to do that one of the options was of Raleigh and Mako bonding by making love in the drift (Charlie Hunnam said so in an interview).
He's MIA for years, then return with a hybrid Kaiju-Jaeger. BOOM! We got ourselves a new evolution of Jaeger in 3rd movie! Now Jaeger will be more powerful, faster, agile, and possibly could regenerate or transform into other powerful form.
Akiran Drake That's exactly what I wanted to be. The potential story plots will be much broader and I am sure in the realm of G Del Toro unique visions. Especially considering the Kaiju franchise seems to become Legendary Cinematic Universe.
The heroic sacrifice death works. I like the idea that a sudden Kaiju appears and Rayleigh, as one of the only pro Jaeger pilots left, is scrambled to take it out. Maybe with a couple of rookies to back him up, or he was taking a newbie on a training exercise. Then he gets to awesomely take out some new more powerful Kaiju, possibly saving the rookie (Boyega's) life in the process and going out like a hero whilst giving us a solid emotional dynamic between Boyega and Mako. What him being in some way her Brother, but also him owing his life to her Partner. The potential is great
he's off training new jaeger pilots in another region, retired from active duty but still able to pilot a jaeger of his own. frees him up to return in a third movie.
The precursors and the kaijus killed his brother, his commander and mentor, his woman and fellow pilot. I think he's done with this war. From the first one you could see that he was traumatized from the battle where he lost his brother and he didn't want to fight anymore.
Thats actually what they wanted to for Alien 3 originally, Segourney Weaver was exhausted after doing both previous movies back to back and wanted a break. It would have been a two part movie with Micheal Biehn's Corporal Hicks as the main character and Ellen Ripley in a coma, only to wake at the end or at the beginning of the second part. They didn't, obviously, go with this in my opinion better idea, and instead eventually went with what we got... I like that idea to be honest, put him in a coma or have his butt sitting i a precursor prison on the other side of the Rift.
Depending on the number of years that have past, maybe Mako and Becket had a kid, he went off to save the world again, died in the process, Mako comes back without him, the rift is temporarily closed for a few years, then boom, it re opens, releasing newer, more powerful and faster evolving Kaiju into the world, so they need to scramble as many Jaegers as possible and thats where the story begins.
i dont think mako died when the copter she getting on fell, and my assumption, raleigh was being kidnapped/taken by the precursors that's why Jake Pentecost said human will go into them, maybe for save raleigh and use raleigh's knowledge about the weaknesses of the precursors then do revenge on 'em
Do you mean the guy on OUR right, or Raleigh's right? Because it looks to me like there are TWO guys, one on each side, looking directly at the camera.
Personally? I'd like to see that, as "The Hero who Saved the Earth," Raleigh is off trying to manage the political aspects of the Jaeger program and his presence remains, but is limited to correspondence with Mako. This leaves the option of Charlie returning for a film 3, should he no longer have the schedule conflict.
In this case, they probably want to have the option to bring the character back in another sequel, so killing him off sounds like closing the door to a future possibility. He could be tasked with something important but unrelated to the actions onscreen (other characters might even refer to him and what he's doing offhand), he could be incapacitated by illness (radiation related maybe?), or maybe he left the program and is living a civilian life.
Maybe he is in a hospital where he needs help because of his past, fighting the kaiju. having visions of the drift inside a jeager scared him for life.
Watching the 2nd Pacific Rim movie, I've seen the faces of the fallen Yeager Pilots, Mako Mori included, on that wall. And, for the record, Raleigh Beckett's face clearly wasn't on it, which explains that he DIDN'T die!!!! I say a 3rd film had better be in the works!!! Show of hands anyone? Or, as Raleigh would say, "Fifth notch on the belt?"
i mean in all honesty i would assume they would just retire him from combat when Raleigh and mako first drift together he says "i hope you dont mind im going to take the left side my right arms kinda shot" hence when gypses right arm gets cut off in the first fight with knife head. then at the end of the movie when they are fighting at the breach gypse's left arm gets cut off and left leg becomes crippled. i would assume the same thing would happen again and Raleigh would have permanent damage in both arms and his left leg now. and if you dont believe me during the movie you can see on his right arm the damage and scarring that the electric shock from the suit left on him from the knife head fight.
retiring from combat would make much more sense since in the last film his left arm was damaged in the battle between knifthead and then later in the movie his right arm also suffered the same fate. just saying
Thing is: they don’t even talk about him as if he didn’t even exist. I’m just waiting for the anime to show up on Netflix like we were promised. But I hope we get a snip of Mako and him
Robot Gamer yeah on Netflix if u type Pacific Rim it has a black box with the name and it says it’s an upcoming anime so I’m excited but I thought it could be out by now but maybe the end of 2020
I hope that they don' t kill him off and just have him being doing something else, maybe just going off to take care of personal business (he had to have parents and his brother is gone). I'd love to see him re-unite with Mako if they make a third film though, they had such a great dynamic.
Personally, I forget about the sequel and just like to pretend he and Mako got married and lived peacefully like everyone else because the kaiju are now dead, the end.
Going missing would work. I hope they don't kill off Raleigh, otherwise I will NEVER watch a Pacific Rim movie again. It would be a cheap copout and make a lot of fans angry, much like how killing off main characters in Alien 3 or Independence Day Resurgence was cheap and made fans angry.
Kurt Schultze with Independence Day though they kinda had to kill him cause Will Smith didn't want to come back. Charlie on the other hand does want to return.
I think him disappearing would be the better option cause it gives a lot of possibilities to what will happen near the end of uprising to whatever future Pacific Rim movies they plan to make in the future
Raleigh succumbs to late onset mental fatigue brought on by solo'ing Gypsy Danger early in the first movie. His ability to drift is severely diminished and is retired from combat. He goes home to be a family guy (Plays Guile Theme as he walks off the base).
I've actually wondered how Raleigh just up and disappeared, so, in my own little AU, he's still very much alive. Ranked to a Senior Ranger Pilot like Herc and Stacker were (If that's a thing) and had remained in contact with Herc, and Mako until Pacific Rim Uprising. Even gave him back his brother, and Mako from Uprising, to pilot a 'Mark 8' Jaeger... so yeah. (I know It's only Marks 1 through 7 usually, but like i said: 'My own little AU')
The same question I'm wondering what happen to sam witwicky(despite shia not wanting to do the franchise anymore) there was no mention about what happen to him or carly in age of extinction and probably not in the last knight and there's no way i buy the fact that bumblebee would up and forget about his best friend.
Me and my brother jokingly commented that Raleigh got drunk, passed out and then somehow drowned. However, considering that there isn't any proper explanation, I've began to accept this as canon.
It would be cool if she returns as a commander in chief or something, while Raleigh is in retirement. Do you know if Mako will still be piloting, though?
Or the characters find a monster that is unbeatable and seek out Raliegh and comes into the battle with the old gipsy danger and continue the battle from there
Really don't like the choice of John Boyega... I don't think he's a very good actor... -_- I think Michael B. Jordan would have been a much better choice but unfortunately I think the raging dumpster fire that was the Fantastic Four remake might have ruined his career lol.
Evolved Turtle Productions no he isn't he's nothing more than average at what he does People think he's so good because he was in a fucking star wars movie Honestly I don't even remember what his role was that how basic he was
NakedAvanger I said PRETTY good. No need to get so worked up. Besides, I know this will come as a surprise to you, but people have DIFFERENT opinions. Strange, I know...
Vulgar Xrated boyega is a terrible actor! His take on Finn was so flat and pointless, like Rey, made me hate Star Wars and what it's become. Guy has no clue how to not look like a derp. Oh well, another descent movie ruined.
he moved to another base where he's in command. building bigger, taller, better and maybe flying jaegers. and training new pilots for those new jaegers
I was excited for this until I heard the name John Boyega. He might mature into a decent actor in the future, but companies casting him in blockbusters simply because of his Star Wars fame will likely suffer overall on account of his poor acting skills.
iSweat-Axion They probably chose Boyega because he's still like insanely popular, probably knows nothing about the plot, and they will probably ruin the movie as a whole
He died of cancer from radiation from the explosion of gipsy danger, and a reverse. Also the 2 times he piloted a jaeger alone. Proof in The Pacific Rim Uprising official movie novel.
my favorite idea is they explore the long term affects of the drift and what happens if one pilot dies and one survives while linked (like him and his brother) and his character develops a split personality disorder, the other personality being his dead brother, and so he is unfit for service. because theres no way that wouldnt cause severe psychological distress. failing that i think they should do something so underwhelmingly borning and unrelated to the plot of the movies adding a bit more of the real world into the story. like he is out doing groceries or something and as he leaves the building he gets hit by a car or one idea that fits with the plot a bit he gets night terrors from his experiences in the war and eventully gets so wound up he avoids sleeping because he is afraid of the dreams and is just too emotionaly and mentaly unstable to take part in the next war. i really, really want to see them explore the affects all of this would have on a persons mental health. cause look at how messed up vets with ptsd are in todays warfare, could you imagine the toll a war with the kaiju would take on a persons psyche? anyway thats just my 2 cents. thanks for the read, hope you all have a great day/night.
I think it'd be a shame if he was killed off with just a passing comment. Eg, Mako staring into space, half looking at Gipsy Danger, "I wish Raleigh could be here now." That would actually really piss me off. Hopefully Uprising is a success and Charlie comes back for numero 3.
A couple of research I did he died because had cancer (in the movie) because of the breach, it gave him some nerve damage and then had cancer so that's how he died
SPOILER! He obviously has PTSD from losing his brother the way he did and his breakup with Mako put him over the edge. Its a well known fact that he is having inpatient mental health services before being cleared for active duty again. Not only does he suffer from PTSD, but he also suffers from major depression and that is leading him to have suicidal ideations. Whether or not he will be cleared is yet to be seen, but we can be certain that he will make a comeback after hearing of Mako's death. I bet their children are just darlings!
We already know why the Kiju are back. They literally said there’s two stages where stage two unleashes the Kiju to finish the job. Highly doubt one nuke was enough to stop them for good.
Hmm... mako died from a helicopter crash Now what will happen to Raleigh? -sneaking in the PPDC tower all the time without a single person seing him -sleep -eat -drink -get dressed -eat snacks -get drunk
Well 10 years happened after they closed the rift in the first movie so anything could have happened. A character does mention "Raleigh" In the movie which leaves me with a ton more questions
Only idea I can think of is both Raleigh and Mako had a child together. Both wanted to help the corps but cannot leave their child alone. So Raleigh decided on his own decision to raise their child while Mako goes.
How about he dies of cancer? Maybe all that radiation from the explosion as he escaped the kaiju's universe via escape pod. Just as Staker, he got the cancer because there wasn't anything protecting him against that . The reason why Mako won't have to suffer from the damage due to exposure will be because Raleigh gave her his oxygen .... just my theory .
I think Raleigh was probably stationed somewhere else after the first movie, and throughout the time between the first movie and uprising, he probably had a somewhat romantic relationship with Mako, and he just wound up missing.
He went in a time machine and was reborn as King Arthur...
I like how the comment is just “funny”
I thought he left to set up a motorbike gang?
Well it could be a possibility
What
Wkwkwkw
Raleigh did pilot gipsy danger alone twice... maybe he got suspended because of nerve damage
Gurito43 That is what I would go with.
Twice? I only remember him doing it once at the beginning.
Raven he didn't pilot it at the end all he did was activate the nuke he didn't move it like he did in the beginning
That and how much radiation did they get exposed to in that thing....maybe just maybe he died off from all the damage to his body.
He was just unconscious
Retire is correct. During episode 5 of Pacific Rim: The Black, his entry on the records of solo piloting Jaeger says his Retired.
I was gonna comment this
f*ck i hope they give him a role of like the old veteran coming back to say how do we fight kaiju in the originins when the new characters of the 2nd and 3rd movie will be at low mental
Yea but that was set further in the future
Actually, the actor quited for the second film since he's already in another film, but maybe he can get too the third film if its actually possible.
@@Creminson The real question is, what the fuck is going on with him and mako Mori? She gets to be seen in uprising but not Ralph? Blasphemy! Heresy!
In the second movie after Mako died, they showed us the memorial spot and there wasn’t any photos of him so he isn’t dead I assume
Then he's mentioned in pacific rim the black
He is, in fact in PacificRim acention the novel witch breiged the first and second move together, reveals theat he died by kiajunworld radiation

What?! Well that's stupid😬
“You’re squeezing me too tight. I couldn’t breathe.”
At the end of the first movie it seemed like he and Mako were a item what if they had a falling out and he left the Jager program while she stayed.
I ask google and it says that rayleigh died of cancer from the pacific rim uprising prequel novel
Personally? I'd like to see that, as "The Hero who Saved the Earth," Raleigh is off trying to manage the political aspects of the Jaeger program and his presence remains, but is limited to correspondence with Mako. Well, I know that this video was made before Pacific Rim: The Black, but in that show, he’s listed as Retired. So, hope?
In this case, they probably want to have the option to bring the character back in another sequel, so killing him off sounds like closing the door to a future possibility. Nobody knows what happened to Raleigh because there was no second movie, idk what everyone’s talking about
He joined a motorcycle club in California
I don't think Raleigh died in either Pacific Rim film, more like retired after the first.
Maybe he is in a hospital where he needs help because of his past, fighting the kaiju. having visions of the drift inside a jeager scared him for life.
Dres2000 r u making him like tony stark????

It’s been 10 years since the first movie. But great guess
The most amazing part of this video is learning that there are people out there who gave a toss about Raleigh Becket in the robot MMA movie.
Watching the 2nd Pacific Rim movie, I've seen the faces of the fallen Yeager Pilots, Mako Mori included, on that wall. iSweat-Axion They probably chose Boyega because he's still like insanely popular, probably knows nothing about the plot, and they will probably ruin the movie as a whole
not necessarily he isn't the worst actor and he is poular but he wont ruin the movie
He is a bad actor Pacific Rim is my favorite film but i think he should not be in it.
In my pacific rim book say he died because of the radius from the anteverse
He was a very boring character in the first movie. The other characters are just much more interesting, even the Russian pilots were more interesting
kuglefang How? especially the Russians?
AwesomePerryMe XD the accent XD
well...everyone must've got their own oponion
kuglefang no
The Russian Pilots Sabotaged Gipsy Danger because she's american
he went for a mission to infiltrate the aliens, got trapped, and then he was the one who opened back the gate. xD
I like to think he & Mako settled down. 1 boy named Stacker. 1 girl named Yancy.
@NightmarePZR Yeah. A girl named Yancey.
I like the idea of him just not being there at the time.
When the beginning of the movie started jake said its been 10 years since we won the battle so it happend 10 years in the future
I reckon he and mako got together after the first film
It would be 15 years into the future
They could say that exposure to the anteverse gave him some weird anteverse based disease and that kills him
I might have thought that Raliegh was piloting the black and orange Jaeger. That would've been awesome
We already know why the Kiju are back. They literally said there’s two stages where stage two unleashes the Kiju to finish the job. Highly doubt one nuke was enough to stop them for good.
If they're planning to make or produce pacific Rim 3 they should bring back the original Gipsy pilot that would be great
Hmm... mako died from a helicopter crash
Now what will happen to Raleigh?
-sneaking in the PPDC tower all the time without a single person seing him
-sleep
-eat
-drink
-get dressed
-eat snacks
-get drunk
Well 10 years happened after they closed the rift in the first movie so anything could have happened. A character does mention "Raleigh" In the movie which leaves me with a ton more questions
Fighting Kaiju is f**king dangerous. May be Raleigh Becket just wanted a break from combat. He almost got killed last time.
Raleigh experienced solo piloting in a jaeger twice, so I think he's out of shape to be back since bc of the damage that solo piloting did to him.
Only idea I can think of is both Raleigh and Mako had a child together. Both wanted to help the corps but cannot leave their child alone. So Raleigh decided on his own decision to raise their child while Mako goes.
He isn’t healthy enough to pilot a Jaeger since he has piloted one alone twice so far.
He returns as the ultimate Kaiju.
Best option is to retire him from combat so that if they want to bring him back in another movie they can and fans won't be mad or nothing
But finally.
There's no any sorts of info given for our guy how he gone missing.
Its sad when you you find out he just died from radiation pensioning.
I think railegh was testing gipse avanger until a died from a mission.
How about he dies of cancer? Maybe all that radiation from the explosion as he escaped the kaiju's universe via escape pod. Just as Staker, he got the cancer because there wasn't anything protecting him against that . The reason why Mako won't have to suffer from the damage due to exposure will be because Raleigh gave her his oxygen .... just my theory .
i think he retired because he fought many kaiju there are kaijus that Gipsy danger fought but they didn't show all the kaiju that Gipsy danger fought
I think Raleigh was probably stationed somewhere else after the first movie, and throughout the time between the first movie and uprising, he probably had a somewhat romantic relationship with Mako, and he just wound up missing.
