The most hilarious thing is that right after mutavore came, the precursors developed a flying kaiju that could go OVER the wall. And a buff strong kaiju with an emp on its back that could cripple a city/ dig through the wall, due to the shovel like hands it had. The wall was just a waste lol some thing to keep the masses busy while the rich people went to a "safe zone" XD
It really was straight up just so that the rich could be safe. They didn't want to put money into the method that was obviously better. They just wanted to do something to placate the masses while they focused on making sure they were safe.

I actually agree with the answer from The Flame Elemental, we actually see this shit happening in film, in the other hand, I'm not buyin that AK missiles are too expensive, I mean, they built a freacking wall arround the pacific ocean, and they built at least 43 giant robots
You know, they had the technology to build energy based weapons that seemed very effective against the kaiju. Couldn't they simply mount the same type of weapons in turret form on the walls?
okay first of all....plasma cannons are more effective in neutralizing the kaiju blue as mentioned in to movie IS TOXIC and the anti-kaiju missiles that are mounted on striker's back is HIGHLY EXPENSIVE AND SENSITIVE by just at it's size.....so tactical nuclear missile which seemed to have no effect on the weakest kaiju by strength and armor (Trespasser). There are really a lot better ways to kill the kaiju rather than the Jaegers as well. Laser guided pentrators/bunker buster bombs would be able to get through the thick skin of the kaiju. But instead of explosives, use a nerve agent that would effect the kaiju, not not native organisms. They know enough about kaiju biology for something like that. Of course that doesn't make for nearly as fun a movie. sm
Building a wall at the deepest part of our ocean is more impossible than making giant robots. Also it wasn't until relatively late in the war that we had the penetrating power to really damage Kaiju. Although these weapons could have been mounted on land and on ships they fail to do one important thing, keep a Kaiju still or relatively contained to get a good hit and/or keep it away from populated areas.
I take it you never heard of modular construction techniques? What is done is that you build large sections of the wall on the surface and then lower them into position. Modular construction is how they build most large ships today. It would take some special equipment, but the technology exists if you want to spend the money, and it would be a LOT cheaper than trying to build a wall around the entire Pacific Rim which is tens of thousands of miles. While the kaiju’s hide is tough, I very much doubt that it would be tougher than 20 feet of reinforced concrete which is what the GBU-28, GBU-37 bombs used by the US military can penetrate today. A few modifications might have to be made, but the concept would work. But logic isn’t the point of the movie. Big mechs punching huge monsters is. sm
The thing has actually dealt death blows to kaiju's were the jaeger's special weaponry. From the Tresspasser incident, I can see why the military minds back then didn't think that their conventional weapons could do anything. But stuff has obviously advanced by the time point of the movie. Having a lone Striker Eureka holding off the kaiju threat is not smart, nor economically feasible. Having a fleet of bombers to rain down Striker's chest munitions is. The movie just completely ignores conventional warfare by that point, because they had giant robots. But they actually had failing giant robots. If the Jaeger program was doing well , then screw whatever complaints I have. The movie is about giant robots vs giant monsters after all. But thats not the case, and amongst their thought out options, none of the logical ones appear.
@@deeya I mean, while building an undefended wall is the DUMBEST thing possible, I do agree with you that it does not take into consideration how conventional arms would advance and be combined. Now I understand that by this point, its catch as catch can, but I think all three options combined would be best. A coastal wall, properly defended, would work. What about heavy gun emplacements around cities? Basically fortresses with heavy cannons and missile launchers. If the Jaegers are able to literally punch them to death, then heavy duty ballistics must do the job. Cheaper than building and maintaining advanced machines like Jaegers. I think that would be the logical course of action IRL. Like fortress worlds in WH40k.

Instead of develop a jaeger why not a network of super weapons placed on the wall to rekt any kaiju before it could get even close... i can imagine lots of rail guns or big ass cannons like the gustav or some shit like that, maybe some triple 460mm guns like the yamato has... maybe complemented by the develop of new era battleships! HELL YEAH FUCK JAEGERS THIS IS WAY MORE COOL
I believe he's referring to the Gustav railroad gun used by the Germans in WWII, which was a naval gun mounted on rails for attacking cities. Based on the first Kaiju attack it would most likely be useless. However modern battleships and missile cruisers using railguns and anti-kaiju missiles could have been built to defeat Kaiju. Also the main point of the Jaegers is to engage and stop a Kaiju from going any further, preferably before it hits land. If a Kaiju is fighting a Jaeger at sea or on the coast it isn't damaging cities and killing people.
If you bothered to listen to what they say in Pacific rim you would hear them say how the kaiju blood is toxic and blowing them up was catastrophic on its own. Thus why jaëgers usually punch instead of only using blades and missiles.
okay first of all....plasma cannons are more effective in neutralizing the kaiju blue as mentioned in to movie IS TOXIC and the anti-kaiju missiles that are mounted on striker's back is HIGHLY EXPENSIVE AND SENSITIVE by just at it's size.....so tactical nuclear missile which seemed to have no effect on the weakest kaiju by strength and armor (Trespasser). Have a plane fly high above the kaiju, and drop Nano bots with high powered saws and laser cutters that will work their way into the kaiju. Ways in side include: cutting the surface skin and working in more, through the eyes, mouth and more. They would be deployed in mass numbers and be covered in protective plating to keep them from taking damage unless stepped on by the kaiju, once all the affects of the nano bots have kicked in, these effects include: loss of eyesight, majorly destroyed organs, ripped flesh, ect- a jaeger will be deployed to “clean up” the kaiju and the nano bots will evacuate the body through the feet area while the jaeger deals with the kaiju, effectively weighing the beasts down more.
If nuking(thermonuclear tipped tactical missiles) a kaiju is environmentally unfriendly then since they can be damaged through conventional means then why cant they just neutron bomb them(emits very less radiation makes the bombed place suitable for life)
I don’t see why they would make a wall, wouldn’t the precuserers just keep sending Kaiju through the breach and then all of the kaiju would smash through it at once?
So the war "keeps them out " so more can come at there timescale and just hang around till the three at the end come and what happens? Just if it had mounted defense like anti kiju missiles , could of works , but why did they not gang up on everyone as they came through , 5 V1
Well okay, considering how they didn’t know the precursors existed they most likely thought the Kaiju would destroy just to destroy so if they stopped them at the rim, then they would be fine. Flawed yes but I bet considering their options it was easier then fighting constantly. The issues with the Jaegers were you had to build the Jaegers, then upkeep them and their weapons and find drift compatible pilots. All that is time and money that could be used on something else. Someone said use Striker Eurekas missles on the wall, although a conventional solution just Strikers missiles alone were completely outrageously expensive imagine putting those things on walls would cost. Other people said some other forms of artillery we currently have, but keep in mind that under the first event nuclear became our only option. The Jaegers although not practical or conventional would work better in the long run, at least with added support of long range weapons from planes. Kaiju blue made it so they relied more of Plasma based weapons to limit spillage, having a Jaeger which is big enough to fight the Kaiju while also making big enough wounds to hurt and kill it while limiting Kaiju Blue spillage is nice. That and as the viewer we should know that they would have to use decently small planes with smaller weaponry, with the addition of Kaiju most likely learning to fly much sooner. So our flight option may be a lack of option quicker then I think we give credit for.
In universe op-ed piece explaining reasons for the wall. We’ve all seen the pictures, and yes, they are inspiring. Coyote Tango bravely finishing off Onibaba with one conscious pilot. The flash and crackle of Cherno Alpha’s Sparkfist. Lucky Seven standing toe-to-toe with a two-hundred-foot monster in Hong Kong Bay. (What names!) Does your kid want to be a Ranger? Mine does. She’s nine years old and doesn’t remember a time when the word kaiju didn’t occur a dozen times in every news report. The Rangers are heroes to her, the way… well, there’s where I lose the thread. Because there has never been anything like the Rangers: a group of maybe one hundred people who hold the entire fate of the human race in their hands. But hold on a minute. Is that really true? What if the Rangers are really just holding us back? What if we’re being programmed into believing that it’s okay to lose slowly rather than take a shot at winning once and for all? What if our reliance on Jaegers, and on the visceral thrill of watching one of them beat a kaiju into hamburger, is distracting us from something that might actually work? Because let’s face it, folks. The Jaeger program isn’t working. The kaiju keep coming, faster and faster, and there’s no way we can build Jaegers fast enough to keep up. Not forever. Kaiju are big. They move slowly. Let’s just get the hell out of the way. Build the Walls, pick up all those millions of people from Shanghai to San Francisco and move them inland, and spend those trillions of dollars currently rusting away in Oblivion Bay on something that might actually work. The Rangers are heroes. But like all heroes, they’re bound to find that time has passed them by.
They may as well have Horton behind their major cities, and then pushed them somewhere else, instead of building giant, useless walls for monsters made to smash man-made objects to dust.
This video is literally just you reading word-for-word the Wikia article about the anti-kaiju wall... pacificrim.wikia.com/wiki/Anti-Kaiju_Wall Plagiarism and copyright infringement much? Heck, all the article required you to do to obey copyright was just give attribution (CC BY-SA), and you didn't even do that.
The wall is a dumb idea to combat kaiju but jagers are also a dumb idea since there based on human anatomy which can't be easily scaled to that size and aren't optimized for warfare, also their main attack is punching which means you need to get up close to the kaiju. instead, they should use swarms of drones each one being about the size of a car and being powered by a nuclear reactor outputting about 250kw, they would have small plasma canons and high powered lasers. A single drone won't be able to take out a kaiju but a swarm of a couple thousand probably could, and since their so small it would be hard for them to be destroyed plus they could easily move out of the way of any attacks. If one gets destroyed they could simply send 100 to replace it. another thing they could do is if a kaiju is near or in a city, the swarm of drones could grasp themselves to the kaiju and use their thrusters to lift them away they could even fly them to the edge of space and drop them on to a desert. It would also be cheaper than the jagers as let's say each drone cost half a million dollars and 2,000 are needed to easily take out a kaiju it would only cost $1 billion compared to the jagers which can cost hundreds of billions of dollars to make and billions each year to maintain.
They only had enough resources for one of the projects. And since the Jeagers were being destroyed faster than they could be built, the wall got the funding.
Can’t they just build a Defense system like install sensors then when the kaiju is in rage the defense systems are missiles big guns and artillery if it works opinions of people goes up and if it works they can take the jobs of defending the city and if the UN continued the jaeger program with the defense system it will really work now this is how it works sensors detect the kaiju then the defense readies for the attack while the jaegers are used for the frontlines that way the damage of the city is minimal and it leads to two ways of victories one the kaiju destroys the jaeger but the jaeger did a massive hit on the kaiju weakening it so that the defense systems do the finishing blow number two the jaeger kills the kaiju but there is a 20% chance that the jaegers would win and a 90% chance that the defence systems will win and a second use for them if it works perfectly the jaeger program could build new jaegers while the defense system defends the city
So stupid. If you don't kill the Kaiju as they appear, their numbers will obviously build up. What happens when you have dozens of category 4s collecting out there and they decide "Aye, whatdya think is on the other side of that wall?" and decide to smash through it? Rip everyone.
no correction, kaiju's are just monsters made by precursors right? and precursors are Colonists as mentioned in the movie.... they would NOT think of anything beyond the wall they just want to TAKE OVER EARTH as colonists
Fatality Craft You forget, it was explained that the Category's 4s very purpose was to completely exterminate all life on the planet. So the Kaiju would make it their business to demolish the wall and anything behind it. They are intelligent, after all.

4nchoa -The Gustav is anti tank, I don't think it will be powerful enough
Les Salazar plasma weapons make this a non issue.
okay first of all....plasma cannons are more effective in neutralizing the kaiju blue as mentioned in to movie IS TOXIC and the anti-kaiju missiles that are mounted on striker's back is HIGHLY EXPENSIVE AND SENSITIVE by just at it's size.....so tactical nuclear missile which seemed to have no effect on the weakest kaiju by strength and armor (Trespasser). In all saying plasma cannons that were built in gipsy won't be added to the wall all due to...Civilians being like 100m away from plasma cannons that when go on full power (the battle between Gipsy and Knifehead) makes a huge discharge of not just light but radiation
I don't get why they didn't take thoes missile launchers from striker urekas chest and put them next to the breach
Saeid Radder Very expensive and the Kaiju adapt to anything like that. They can't adapt to the Jaegers' brute force.
Hey past me, just here to call you a dumbass because how in Guilliman’s fucking gallbladder is a missile supposed to fire underwater?
If nuking(thermonuclear tipped tactical missiles) a kaiju is environmentally unfriendly then since they can be damaged through conventional means then why cant they just neutron bomb them(emits very less radiation makes the bombed place suitable for life)
What was trumps plan? Have the Kaiju pay for it?
Why not attach a spinner with blades attached to it like swords on a helicopter roder blade and install them on top of the breach?
崔佳豪 Kaiju Blue is acidic. Not a good thing to do.

That’s sarcasm, isn’t it?
(What names!)
Does your kid want to be a Ranger?
Wait... this wall is wall maria from Attack on Titan but for kaijus!
PRAISE THE WALLS!!!
Wait wrong wall..
Attack on titan abridged
Why would they think a kaiju wouldn’t Attack a wall???
They may as well have Horton behind their major cities, and then pushed them somewhere else, instead of building giant, useless walls for monsters made to smash man-made objects to dust.
How about a wall made out of Jaegers.
This video is literally just you reading word-for-word the Wikia article about the anti-kaiju wall...
pacificrim.wikia.com/wiki/Anti-Kaiju_Wall
Plagiarism and copyright infringement much? Heck, all the article required you to do to obey copyright was just give attribution (CC BY-SA), and you didn't even do that.
Bro just use plot amour
Can you make videos that aren't just 2-3 mins? Please. I'm just asking.
Wouldn't the kiju just build up until they break through and it would be a swarm of kiju
Why don't you just build a wall and have jaegers patrol it
They only had enough resources for one of the projects. And since the Jeagers were being destroyed faster than they could be built, the wall got the funding.
Can you do Mutavore.
This isn’t pacific rim uprising. Please don’t get people confused between the two very different movies
Let's face it, walls are a attack on titan thing...
i cant believe they thought that would have worked...
walls similar to these are usually to keep people in not things out
We seen in movie a many jaegers been destroyed so I thinking who stooped all this kaiju then? Soory for my english
If the wall work, there will be no dramas.
The wall can't even handle a kaiju, then why do they even build it
The wall was just stupid unless they were planning on putting anti kaiji cannons on top of it I'm just stupid
If a missile will hurt the kaiju, then build more A-10s.
I'm just here to read the Trump "Build the Wall" jokes
love the movie but that part didn't make sense at all
should have built it 10 feet higher
I wonder why there is a need for a video like this. It's a wall. What needs to be explained about a wall?
A rousing success at being a failure.
trump wall> kaiju wall lols
It's big

Looket pwintsess, yore daddy bolt that wall it's such a pwitty wall oooh,!!!
Read word for word from the Pacific Rim wikia.
The wall failed? It wasn't a true wall. #notmywall
First great wall of China, then anti kaiju wall and now, trump wall :D
Some guy:What should we do for the Kaiju getting stronger
A other guy:keep using robots
Some guy: That’s dumb
Trump guy:We will build a wall and make the Kaiju pay for it
LOL Trump is in the movie
I'm glad they shut the program down.
If kaijus can burst through that wall
Then let see if they can bursts Trump's wall
The was a fucking bad idea, building more jaegers was a good idea
They expect the wall to stop Kaijus? lol it can't even stop Mexicans
I know it's a movie but the wall was a very stupid idea
this is where trump got his idea for a wall.
Trump Wall!!! We will built that WALLLLL!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe trump should invest on jaegers
The idea blows so much🤦🏿♂️
The UN in this movie is as useless as the UN in real life.
Finally
The person who thought of this idea... hmmmmmmmmmm Donald Trump duh
Where's trump?
Donald Trump saw this movie and decided to do it in real life
This is donald trumps wall
anti kaiju wall sex
Copy this for the Trump Wall. Yes, we can!!!!
Trump are about to prove it.
