    Just found your channel, I use to just love Crappie fishing when I was still able to get out and go, I'm almost 70 yrs now and disabled, but what I wouldn't give to be able to go Crappie fishing again. Enjoy what you get to do everyday and going fishing is just a bonus. When your my age you'll look back and smile at the fun times you had out on the water. I could fish everyday from sun up till dark, my PB count in one day of catching crappie was 70 something, my husband and Father-in-law were with me. We'd go over to Wheeler Dam in the winter to catch Sauger or some call them Jack I think. Great tasting fish, but Crappie will all ways be the best tasting fish fried iv eaten, with some slaw with vinegar/oil dressing, and beer hush puppies nothing better. They'ed eat them as fast as I could fry them lol. Wish you the best Sir, catch one for me. Love your channel.

    Mr. Ken your videos make my mouth water. I hope before I die I could fill a chest of Sac-A-Lait . There just no place on the north shore that I find fish like that. I have traveled over those waters many times and wished I could fish those waters. I don`t know that area and always wanted to fish there . I only hope that I get a chance to get the boat that was given to me running before my body gives up on me. God has Blessed me another day on this earth so I can at lease watch your videos. Thanks and may God Bless You Sir.

    I just don’t understand that they want stack like that in shallow weather here northwest LA on Caddo lake they go to 15-20 and hold on brush tops ! Blows my mind how they are stacked in 5 ft of water !

    • @kfred
      @kfred  4 роки тому

      It’s has to be the current that puts the fish shallow here in the Basin, plus we don’t have the real deep water other than some of the channels.

    • @kfred
      @kfred  4 роки тому

      Michael I have tried them them all and for what I do it’s perfect. I use the 8.6 Tomahawk Apache fly rod from Walmart for less than 30.00 . With a small spinning reel I can throw all day without wearing me out . They are super lightweight .If I am casting its my go to. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    WhatMake is your Speck Rod??

    • @kfred
      @kfred  4 роки тому

      Jerry I guess the reasons I use this rod are:The 8.6 length helps in casting that little jig and small float as far as possible. It helps in playing the fish, they have a hard time shaking the bait.The rod is very lightweight so you can cast all day without getting wore out. The last reason they are inexpensive. I do love some other brands out there but I like the price of these. I know in a couple of my fishing videos, I talk about the rod and where to get them. Thanks for watching!
