- Check out this late afternoon trip in the Atchafalaya Basin. It was an awesome bite fishing in one of the most beautiful places in the country. I caught plenty of fish to fry and I show cooking them a couple days later at the deer camp.Nothing like fried whole Sac-a-lait on the bone.Anyone interested in my Jigs you can contact me by Email kfishfred@gmail.com

He also shares what he has learned with others. God bless him for sharing our culture! Never speak ill of a Cajun and never speak ill of any man. We are all brothers. What a life!

Where in Louisiana do you fish. Louisiana is on my bucket list to fish.
Hard water time in late October here in Wisconsin . Not thick enough to walk on . Early ice we slay them and white bass , perch and gills . Cold water fish up here have used up the yellow fat that makes them taste bad if you don't Fillet it out . Crappies in summer are like mush even if you throw them in an ice chest !
Another good day on the water for Mr. Ken, good mess of fish. I can almost taste-um. Stay safe and good hunting, hope you bag a big'n !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks David ! I really appreciate that!

Thanks Kwam ! I appreciate you watching and commenting on my videos
Do you use your electronics to determine which cypress trees to target? And have you noticed a difference in how the crappie relate to the trees based on season and weather conditions? There is a shallow lake here in my home state (Mississippi) that is full of cypress and tupelo gum trees and I’ve read that it has a good population of black crappie. I’m going to try it late winter/early spring but with some much wood cover the fish could be anywhere
I have no electronics that tell me if they are on the trees. I just check a bunch around the lake. They love to get on them in late February and throughout March. At least here in South Louisiana. Thanks for watching Matt
That lake is pretty as a post card, thanks
It is beautiful out there! Thanks for watching!
I have just subscribed and enjoy all the videos so far you do a little bit of everything but I really like the part where you catch clean and cook people shouldn't fish if they don't eat them, I grew up where you went fishing for something to eat not for fun
Thanks Joe ! I appreciate you subscribing and for the kind words.
Nice Ken as always....
Thanks Troy! I appreciate you watching and commenting
Nice video Kendall. Can’t wait to get out there this season

I have never seen this technique before. Very cool. What time of year does it work best?
Joe I catch using this technique 10 months out the year. Usually December and January are my slowest months and I am usually hunting at that time: Thanks for watching!
What type of rod is that Ken?
Thanks Mr. Frederick, hello from Gainesville, Fl. I really enjoy watching all of your videos. You and your down home personality always deliver the best in southern gentleman and the great things that our Lord has provided for us to enjoy. I will be writing you to order some of your custom jigs. Bill Buckley thank you sir
Thanks Bill ! I really appreciate the kind words!
What side of the bridge do you go to to find the sacalait? I’m new to Henderson’s Lake. Help me out! Thanks🎉
I do well on both sides. The fish are always moving. It depends on water depth, water clarity, and water temperature. Thanks for watching
My name is Ken. My life is dope and I do dope stuff.
Lol!
Really enjoy your videos. The weather in Illinois is getting a little nasty so I'm thankful to have videos of my favorite hobby to enjoy. I retired about a year ago and spent most of this year on the water.

The fish were shallow. . I was fishing in 2 1/2 to 3 foot of water. Thanks for watching
Nice bro
Thanks Cole! I appreciate you watching!
I'm kinda thinkin not a lot of girls subscribe here lol. Maybe after a little while they'll catch on. I know we cook..... and I know some of their men go hunting. And a heck of a lot of girls go fishing and hunting and are damn good at it.
"Here ye here ye All girls with a cast iron skillet apply!"
There that should do it, they'll be flowing in like honey on a hot day!
Lol! Thanks Valerie! I appreciate the support!

Where you at in Henderson when I cross the Basin the water low
Hutch the water did come up a good bit from a few weeks ago and now it’s falling again. I could see the bridge from where I was catching .
@@kfred ok.. thanks for the reply
Do you rather 1/16 or 1/32
Rhett I made my own mold that is right in the middle. However I do use a 1/16 in some cases Thanks for watching!
Hi gang, are Walmart hair jigs any good?
I have never really noticed their hair jigs. I am sure they would probably work. Thanks for watching!
None have the green head,, I have some from Acadamy didn’t really much good with them either.. I been watching you guys for a while to...
4# rod n line?
I use 6 pound test most of the time with my jigs. Thanks for watching Pete!
@@kfred Thanks 😊
Nice! What kind of float you use, never seen one slide like that. Wondering how you rig it?
Thanks! The line goes through the cork and you peg it at the depth you want. It is a 1 1/2 Sigar float. Check out my other fishing videos , I give all the information on the corks and show more of my technique.
New subscriber here. Just found your video. What a cork master! I will check more your video to study how you check the bite through bobber. I am from Houston, I am quite surprised you are catching them at 2-3 feet deep. Not sure what the water temperature is, it must be comfortable for crappies to stay so shallow.
Lol! Thanks Man ! Yes please watch them all! I just went subscribe to your channel! I appreciate the sub and watch
So float and jig is killing I went with my dad live scope with minnows and jig and didn’t catch crap do you know the waters where they at blows my mind 🤦🏻♂️
Lol! You’ll get them next time! Thanks for watching!
Have you been catching lately cause we haven’t been goin and by the way I love your videos.
Thanks Joncaidn! I filmed this last week, I am sure they’re are still biting. Thanks for watching!
@@kfred your welcome

No I wasn’t tipping. Thanks man ! I really appreciate that.I probably won’t make the Illinois trip this year, but I wish.
Are you lunching under the interstate or at pats
I launch at Kern’s landing on this trip. Thanks for watching Robert!

Ken how deep do you think they were holding ?
Justin these fish very shallow. The water was only 2 1/2 foot in some of these spots. Thanks for watching!
They moving back to the trees some?
Most of the fish I caught were shallow next to bushes and trees. Mainly on little Points. Thanks for watching Joe!
