I can’t be the only one that thinks monitors should ditch including speakers entirely. It seems like a huge waste of money especially when my phone or $20 bluetooth speaker have richer, louder sound.

most 60hz monitors can be overclocked to 75hz
      I overclocked mine to 80hz
it's not a huge jump anyways
I'd love to see 90-100-120hz monitors become a thing as 144hz monitors are going for double the price of 60hz or sometimes even more and there's no middle ground for budget gamers

I use the LG 22MK600M and I'd say the colour accuracy is not the best for editing but it's manageable unless you're doing actual professional work. Also the LG monitors come factory calibrated, and while it's not the best calibration, it's better than nothing :)

I use a BenQ XL2411 144hz monitor for 199 on amazon. It's TN but when I bought it 2 yrs ago it was by far the cheapest intro to high refresh rates so I was surprised how cheap that is now. Not 144hz but still. Anyway the BenQ comes with a BEVY of extras you're gonna love! So unless TN is a game changer (HORRIBLE angles... I guess the monitor can swivel in any direction including full vertical or w/e it's called) I suggest a BenQ XL2411.

The best budget monitor is the AOC 24V2H 24". 75Hz, IPS, FreeSync, bezel-less plus it has a metal stand. It's $115 right now but I've seen it for around $105 most of the time on Amazon; also the 22" version is only $95 and includes the same features. The bezel on most monitors around the ~$100 price look antiquated. This monitor from AOC is sleek and looks like it's floating on the desk.

Better than 60 Hz are useful only for passionate and hardcore gaming but if you're watching movies or editing videos in after effects, NukeX, Houdini, etc or edit images in Photoshop you dont need a monitor with better one than 60 Hz. Even if you play games occasionally or older games you dont need a better than 60 Hz. So having an IPS monitor with freesync and an AMD video card is enough for multimedia content creation/editing. Right ? :)

I’m still trying to find the best 27” monitor between $200-250 for triple screen sim racing. Buying monitors especially with the added need of being triple screen friendly can be a headache with all of the different options out there.

I got the LG monitor right when the crisis began from a local store so I could work from home properly... meanwhile the crisis got more intense and now my wife is using the new monitor to work from home while I use the old one and burn my eyes...
Another point that annoys me about those monitors is that the inputs are perpendicular to the monitor, I prefer they'd be parallel, if I had noticed it prior to buying it I wouldn't have bought it.
