most 60hz monitors can be overclocked to 75hz I overclocked mine to 80hz it's not a huge jump anyways I'd love to see 90-100-120hz monitors become a thing as 144hz monitors are going for double the price of 60hz or sometimes even more and there's no middle ground for budget gamers

I use the LG 22MK600M and I'd say the colour accuracy is not the best for editing but it's manageable unless you're doing actual professional work. Also the LG monitors come factory calibrated, and while it's not the best calibration, it's better than nothing :)

Gregory Dim overclocking can be done on your cpu ram gpu most components to push it pass the normal base of the component for better performance like overclocking a monitor that’s 60hz to 75hz
I use a BenQ XL2411 144hz monitor for 199 on amazon. It's TN but when I bought it 2 yrs ago it was by far the cheapest intro to high refresh rates so I was surprised how cheap that is now. Not 144hz but still. Anyway the BenQ comes with a BEVY of extras you're gonna love! So unless TN is a game changer (HORRIBLE angles... I guess the monitor can swivel in any direction including full vertical or w/e it's called) I suggest a BenQ XL2411.

Viewsonic 1080p 165hz 1ms, best $300 monitor I've ever owned. It takes a little fiddling with settings on game mode and 1ms mode enabled, but once it's tuned in... Yum!
Recently my monitor died. It was a generic BenQ 21" VGA-only office monitor (I had to use an HDMI to VGA adapter with it). To replace it I bought the Iiyama G2530HSU-B1. 1080p, 25", 75Hz, TN panel with FreeSync. I splurged a bit, but I think it was worth it.
I would also recommend Samsung's LS22R350FHUXEN. It has really thin bezels and also has: - 5ms response time - IPS panel - 1080p, 22' display - amd freesync - hdmi and vga port - cable managment trays I got it for 88 euros
The best budget monitor is the AOC 24V2H 24". 75Hz, IPS, FreeSync, bezel-less plus it has a metal stand. It's $115 right now but I've seen it for around $105 most of the time on Amazon; also the 22" version is only $95 and includes the same features. The bezel on most monitors around the ~$100 price look antiquated. This monitor from AOC is sleek and looks like it's floating on the desk.

Better than 60 Hz are useful only for passionate and hardcore gaming but if you're watching movies or editing videos in after effects, NukeX, Houdini, etc or edit images in Photoshop you dont need a monitor with better one than 60 Hz. Even if you play games occasionally or older games you dont need a better than 60 Hz. So having an IPS monitor with freesync and an AMD video card is enough for multimedia content creation/editing. Right ? :)
I have the Acer, and it was fine when I had an AMD card, but it's unusable with Nvidia. I have Freesync disabled everywhere, and it still flickers like crazy as if Freesync were enabled. Replaced it with a 144 Hz MSI IPS, and I'm much happier for it.

I got the LG monitor right when the crisis began from a local store so I could work from home properly... meanwhile the crisis got more intense and now my wife is using the new monitor to work from home while I use the old one and burn my eyes... Another point that annoys me about those monitors is that the inputs are perpendicular to the monitor, I prefer they'd be parallel, if I had noticed it prior to buying it I wouldn't have bought it.

with the prices of 75hz monitors I never recommend 60hz ones any more as dont see the point of them and think 75hz should just become the default

Only for color oriented work should that be a problem. There are also color settings for most monitors and windows.
Budget ips is normally about 95ish% on the srgb scale. Not bad if you ask me

Both are back down to $90. The Acer also has a slightly larger version (23.8 in) with a 1ms response time for $110.
The acer looks like it has a higher peak brightness and crisper you can even see it through the video so imagine in person
