I’ve had two SL400’s. 2014 and 2017. Looking to get a Grand Edition before the hard top is phased out. Big fan, obviously!

Particular Improvements And Advancements Aimed At A Very Mature Classic Definition Of Incisive Good Taste.
Everything was going just fine until he said that the car doesn't have a backup camera and you can't get one. Seriously? I know it has something to do with the trunk and all of those moving parts, but there have been advances in wireless technology that would alleviate issues like not being able to see out of those enormous C pillars. A wireless camera would have easily done the trick. My 2015 Infinity Q40 has a backup camera. C'mon Mercedes...
In the US the car has a back up camera. Is the law over here.
Why no reversing camera?

@@twfinc6855 If you can afford the SL, you can afford the GT. The GT has a convertible model as well. If you've ever driven an SL, it's more sporty and luxury. Not like the S-Class, so naturally it's the evolution of the SL.
FirearmTutorials .com yes it's true but I don't fit in the GT convertible... The gt itself is almost like a crossover, but I get your point on the GT-c... Unless of course you're referring to the GTR and not the new GT that is just out... The cheeky are is definitely more of a sports car.. they're getting more and more models and it's getting easier and easier to get them mixed up... The GT was the sports car now the GT is a four-door sedan in 2019...
@@twfinc6855 Hmmm, I was thinking about picking one up when they reach the 80-90k range but I haven't actually sat in one. Figured it would be similar the SLS which I did fit in. I'm 6'4" how tall are you?
@@FirearmTutorials Im 6'5" tall I fit just at the limits but its good... mirror is high enough that I can see under it and have good visibility.

Are we going to ignore the atrocious looking central control that's just taken from a 2012 CLA and C class? Or the taillights also taken from the CLA250! They literally scavenged for whatever parts laying around in their inventory to build this car, it's sad. Don't get me wrong, I love Mercedes, especially the S-Class, but this SL is garbage.

The car looks nice but the problem with the sl is it used to be a crazy mercedes. Now its literally one of the cheapest sport mercedes with the gts, gtr, gt63s, s65 they all way more expensive. Its pretty much a cheap benz now🤷♂️🤷♂️

Anyone who buys an SL right now has to completely stupid. With alternative MB offerings such as the S Class Cabrio with a current and FAR superior interior, and the AMG GT roadster for a sportier option, there's no reason to buy this with a 10 year old interior and dash.
The only glass roof metal hardtop convertible has an unmatched experience top down at speed. I do prefer the R230 for the power roll bar and V12.
The SL is just a very classic, and the metal folding roof is very rare.
Not everybody buys a car for the cute dashboard 🙄🤔
