Hi Fordy, would these choices be changed if the pace of the runner was slower than yours? As an older (62) and slower runner, i am working towards 2:00 for a half marathon time but feel im not fast enough to be able to get the best out of the endorphin pro 4.? i currently use superblast's and Boston 12's for longer runs, but will need to change a pair soon.....
I have a mild addiction for running shoes. My rotation > Easy: NB Rebel V4, Tempo/Speed Work/Marathon Training: Addidas Boston 12, 5km/10km: Nike Vaporfly 3, Half & Marathon: Addidas Pro 3.
Did the Great Manchester Run in the Adios Pro 3, a PB time of 1:51:36. The shoes just carried me round all the way in pure comfort. No foot swelling or blistering. Fortunate enough to run alongside the Fordy Runs team representatives for the first mile! great to see the community in good spirits :-)
Everyday I use the Adidas Boston 12 and the Saucony Shift. I do all races up to and including the Half in the Saucony Endorphin Elite. Unfortunately I don’t do marathons anymore
Good call on the Velociti Elite 2! PB'd at the London Winter 10K in that shoe. Also ran Boston marathon in it, but over the longer distance something more forgiving would have been better.
Great take on the breakdown Fordy! Always enjoy the videos from across the pond. I’ve been wondering about the brooks even though it’s not a peba foam , may have to try it out. Also thanks for solidifying my question on the EP4. Recently grabbed them as my half and below shoe and wondered about them and if they are good at those faster paces. Got them out for a quick test and they felt pretty quick. Had the edge Paris , it was fast but also banged up the toenail in a recent 10k. Could maybe use 1/2 size up in it. Anyways keep up the great work!
Ran London 24 in pro 4 and loved it. Only downfall with endorphin range is I always get a small hole in the toe box. Have tried going up a size, lacing techniques but all failed. Must be my dodgy toes but yes totally agree with you. Can’t beat saucony endorphins pro 3 and now the pro 4. Great review 😊
Hi Fordy, love your channel. Was thinking it would be interesting to hear your non plated race day shoes for each distance. Hope the calf injury is healing!
Very interesting video Chris, especially throwing the UA in the mix, that was a surprise! My choices would be; 5k - Hoka Rocket X2, 10k - Asics Meta Speed Sky Paris, Half - either the Asics or Nike Alphafly 3, Marathon - Nike Alphafly 3. I reckon the Alphafly 3 could do all the distances pretty well too. Had Pro 1 and Pro 3 and neither worked for me so not tempted by the Pro 4 at all. Hope that injury clears up soon my friend!
I love seeing some love for the Brooks Hyperion Elite 4. Its real secret is how well it works for us larger guys. Did my 10K PB in mine. I like the Takumi Sen 10 for 5-10K, too. I just think the Brooks feels a little better on foot because the Takumi has the most annoying lockdown. When I get it perfect, it’s amazing. The problem is I rarely get it perfect.
Love the Rocket X2, love it for 15k & 1/2 marathon. Have really works for me. Running my first marathon in January considering trying Adidas Pro 3 but concerned about fit and if it will work. Older & a lot of shoes don’t work for me. Most shoes that work best Nova blast 3 ( Hated 2), Mach x, Rocket X2. Shoes that didn’t puma Devante Nitro, ASICS magic speed 2, Saucony shift 3, speed 3 ( IT band injury)
If you had to, would you consider running in the Meta-Speed Edge for a marathon? I have a marathon this Saturday, and I have the choice of either the Edge or Vaporfly 3? Thanks
I knew the pick for the all-rounder supershoe before I watched the video. It’s quickly getting that reputation as the jack of all trades. But is it also the master of none?
I had an extremely good ultra race in the Salomon Glidemax TR recently. It has a very wide midsole. Now this was at Ultra pace in nature which is far below marathon pace. I am a heavy runner. Do you know any carbonplated or other race shoe option which have a wide midsole?
Maybe a stupid question but when you say “race day” shoes, are you also using these when you, in half marathon training for example, complete a long run? And then using other “daily” shoes for other workouts? TIA
Hi everyone. Interesting description. For me: 5k=Adidas Adizero 8. 10k=Asics magic speed 3. Half Marathon=Brooks hyperion elite v4. Marathon=Saucony E. Pro 4/Nb SC elite v4. Like to Fordy. Have a good day.
I disagree with the Pro 4 working for all distances. I found it to be slow and wouldn’t consider it for a 5k, 10k or half marathon. The Edge Paris works much better for those distances.
Did my first half on Sunday in the Alphafly 3s, ran a time of 1:38:49 pretty stoke with that

EP4 are not fast they are more comfort than aggressive.
My picks are: Adidas Takumi Sen for up to 10km, and Prime X2 for longer distances.
Great list

If you call that an addiction of any sorts.....🤣. My current rotation consists of 21 shoes. You are safe my friend.
@@therangersinger They are only my road shoes that I currently use . . . ;)

Love this
I second the Adios Pro 3 for marathons, just so forgiving and comfortable, also fast for 5k parkrun and half mara which I got my PB wearing last year.
Asics Metaspeed Edge 5k, 10k & Half. Job done, that shoe is fast!
@@charliebendall3696 thank you for translating - I had no clue what he said after “Asics” :D

Any advice for half marathon stability shoes? Thanks a lot for the video as always!
kinvara pro
Saucony Tempus 👍
Saucony Tempus 👍 £99 at Start fitness. All sizes
Actually bought the Kinvara for my first half marathon based on fordys review and they treated me great.
Boston 11/12 , especially when they go on discount

Hi are you tried diaidora gara cabon waht do you think about it?
No they only send those to journalists
Would love to buy the adidas adios pro 3, but for a shoe that's been out a while and the Pro 4 is coming soon, why are they still around £220!!
Great vid fordy
Thank you

if i had to run the distance in a race i would pick these shoes... that make sense?
I guess so and I assume you will have done some miles in them to break them in and not just go straight for it
