      Glad you found the video helpful.. Appreciate the comments. btw, I would reinforce the landing gear structure in the fuselage if you can. I posted some info on RCGroups about it. Thanks - Will

    Great job/ video. I will build the entire plane, leaving the stabilizer elevator and rudder for last. I find its just easier to handle and swing around without damage. I just started doing it this way after 40 years lol

      Thanks for the comments. Always appreciate it... I think your build sequence has a lot of logic.. Have fun with this plane.. I sure do... I just wish I could fly it as well as some of the serious 3D pilots... - Will

      @@SteffenRC get hold of a good quality flat foamie and beat the crap out of it. They are great for learning 3d and almost never break. Your skills will skyrocket!!

      @@alwaysflying6540. I’ve had a Crack Yak for a year or so. Great plane, but my brain and hands just don’t process quick enough. 😀.

      @SteffenRC ah i see. Well, 3d is getting very repetitive anyways lol. Scale aerobatics are where it's at:)

      @@alwaysflying6540 ha. I found the flat foamy is an outstanding trainer. You gotta become proficient with that rudder to have fun. Most pilots only use their rudder while on the ground.. 😀. My biggest issue is fear of damaging my planes. I need to get over that on a few planes and push myself.

      Thanks Earl.. Should be a fun next step for my 3D journey.. I just hope I don't pile her in too soon.... Just need the weather to cooperate for maiden...

    The price at NorthWest RC for this plane is $165, a smaller version 38" for $115, and a 48" pattern plane for $158, all having an ETA of October. Just in time for winter build projects.

      Gotta tell you, I really like my 540.. I've learned a lot with her and she'd goes to the field quite a bit... When I get another, it will be a larger version. I know its a bit more, but bigger flies better.. Right??😀. Thanks for commenting. Appreciate it. - Will

    Hi SteffenRC, I just recently purchased and received this plane yesterday, father's day!. For and affordable servo I am considering the servo's you installed on yours and wanted to ask what you think of them so far. Are they what you expected and are they good fit and doing the job for this airframe? Thanks so much for your great build and flight video's of this great plane. Greatly appreciated, Best, JC, Mineesota.

      JC, It's a wonderful plane and can do whatever maneuver you are asking it to do... The servos I'm using are still going strong. I have an occasional issue with servo flutter (servos try to center and flutter) on the elevator and rudder while its on the ground, but it hasn't caused issues while flying. Appreciate the comments.. - Will

    Great build video Will! This is really a useful video for anyone building their first 3D ARF. The quick detach wings are awesome aren't they? Did you have a chance to fly it yet?

      Thanks Adam. There so many little details. Haven’t flown it yet. Weather isn’t great. Should have the maiden in day or two.

    How have those servos worked out for you? I have one coming and im picking servos now but dont want to spend 50 bucks each lol

      They are still working. However, they have a bit of a centering jitter when on the ground.. They work great in the air...

    Are you using regular CA glue or some kind of foam safe CA for hinges and gluing the horizontal stab?

    • @SteffenRC
      @SteffenRC  7 місяців тому

      I used a foam safe CA on the build..
