Skywing 48" Edge 540 unboxing and initial thoughts

- Purchased the Skywing 48" Edge 540 as my next step in learning to fly 3D/Freestyle Aerobatics. This video is the unboxing review and I reveal the power and electronics I'm planning on using.

Me too. All the reviews state its an awesome 3D plane.. I think the primary reason is its so light.. The wing load is gonna be crazy.. I'll be done with the build in a day or two. It's a pretty easy build. Stay tuned.. - Will
I bought the Flex extra. Bought a TH 32" and was looking at this plane!!!! Great to see Im not alone in my thinking!
I think this will be that next step plane from the Eflite Ultimate and Crack Yak... She's not a quality plane like an Extreme Flight, but I understand the Skywings fly really well.. We'll see..
I got the crack yak xl....it's sweet cuznits like 900g flying weight w a 3s 2200....ad I motor and popped it so it flies like a full fuse bird and not like a slow fly reg crack yak....it tumbles and rings out better than my extra....I also have a PA addiction x which is amazing but next is to get a 60 skywing or ex flight
Tory, You know the path I'm on.. I'm getting comfortable with the Crack Yak and now its time to get a real 3D / Freestyle like plane.. Then I'll go for the 60" EF.. Sure hard to keep all the planes in the hanger happy... Too many planes.. Not enough time.. - Will
Thanks for this, very useful. Can anyone comment on why the Skywing is so much cheaper than the Extreme Flight Edge 48" ? Is it just more carbon fibre on the extreme flight?
The Skywing is made from Balsa ply and foam. The interior formers are foam and its covered with a thin depron/foam material. Its a wonderful plane, but my next Edge 540 will be a more robust build like an Extreme flight.
