Hi Nikolai, There is no way to use simplified reps to exclude assembly features. You can create a "part" simplified rep and then swap the master version of that part for your user defined simplified rep of that part. Excluding a feature in a part simplified rep is like suppressing it. It will also exclude all children of the feature.

Is it possible to create a rule that sets parts to a user-defined rep? It's straightforward enough to exclude parts completely, but I would like to set all parts containing "Rep_A" to that rep.
Hi, it works like a charm. But why do I need to evaluate rules when I add something which falls into the set rules? I am working on large assembly with nearly 70-100 parts.
Enabling rules after their creation applies those rules to new objects as they are created / added to models. Evaluation of those enabled rules happens without user intervention, often at regeneration or screen refresh, so there wouldn't typically be a need to manually force the evaluation.

But, what if I'm working on a user-defined representation where I have excluded some parts/ assemblies, can I maintain this representation regardless if new parts were added later on. Please help. As it's really hectic to return back to the representation to exclude the recently added parts.
If you create a simplified rep with “Exclude” as the main rule. Select the components you want visible manually and set to “master”. Now if any parts or assemblies are added they will be excluded automatically. If you use rules to display your components you want visible, those rules are evaluated against any newly added components and could include them if they conform to the rules set. Manually setting a components display ensures only it is displayed. Hope that helps :)
