Miss my hometown like crazy, lived in dix hills for 4 years and Deer Park for 20. Can't wait to come back and visit. You drove past the block that leads to my house :D I'm legit 60 seconds from DPA. Too bad it's turned into a kinda scary place. I bet when I come to visit I'm gonna run into atleast 20 people i know especially if I go to Tanger. Class of 2010 homie 😁
I live not far from shop rite of deer park though there used to be a waldbaulms in that building it went bankrupt and was replaced with the current store shoprite
Interesting to see the house where I was raised in this video (visible at the extreme left @ 2:30). Deer Park has certainly changed considerably since I left the east coast in 1983!
One thing I'm sad about nowadays is when i was younger you were able to drive through the west side and see kids playing wiffle ball, kick ball, two hand touch or tackle at May Moore. Now there's never anyone outside. Kids only chill inside (not to sound like a grandpa but) playing video games and shit like that. I remember in the summer or on break how eager we were to get outside. I'd leave my house at 7am and wouldn't get home till 9-10. Later if I had a ride. We'd walk DPA, walk into Dix hills to other people's houses praying you had a ride home. But yeah it's sad man. Sorry for the rant but I hope people can relate
