- IT FINALLY HAPPENED. FIGMENT IS BACK. And I am here for it! From the announcement of Figment's EPCOT return at D23 last year, to his debut at the Imagination Pavilion today, I have been there to bring you the news. Dreamfinder Dan. King of Figment.

As a cosplayer, the fact he's only meeting for 10 minutes at a time must mean this costume is a torture device.
You know what costume was NOT a torture device? Dreamfinder. Let's make everyone happy and bring him back.
I did fursuiting for about two years, and even in just a PARTIAL, I couldn’t handle having the head on for more than 10 minutes at a time. If I suited at a convention, I would find the cosplay lounge or headless lounge right off the bat. If I was at a non-convention event, I tried to find a safe place to take the head off so I could cool down and HYDRATE, because holy heff, those heads get HOT very very VERY QUICKLY.
And I’d imagine top heavy costumes like Figments have to add extra strain on the actors shoulders, neck, and back, combined with the heat and humidity.
Heat migraines are very much a thing. A very DANGEROUS thing.

The sheer amount of love Figment gets is so fascinating to me as a West Coast native who'd never even heard of him until a few years ago (especially with the popcorn bucket fiasco of 2022 haha), but it's cool that he was brought back and I'm happy for everyone there that was super excited to see him again! He clearly means a lot to so many, and I love when characters are able to do that for people. That being said, the line is absolute insanity so fingers crossed it won't be as long in the future 😅
The crazy thing is that they cut off the line at 5 hours
I’ve noticed that figment is a little more popular than Mickey, but then again, that’s an understatement. But all that aside, I’ve always loved figment!

His Popcorn Bucket sold like crazy and the line to meet him was longer than most of the rides in the park. That’s the power of Figment for ya, folks. That said, HOLY CRAP THAT COSTUME IS MAGNIFICENT!!

It would have been something if they surprised everybody if Dreamfinder showed up unannounced to greet guests along with Figment that day.
I'm going to Disney with my parents for the first time in 17 years this November, and Figment was a huge part of my childhood visits! I'm so glad to see him get the love he deserves!
If Disney did this story RIGHT (read: The comics and Dreamcatcher lore) they could create a HUGE franchise. They seem to struggle adapting attractions to films, but I think Figment is like Mickey, in that his origins are not well-known, but he's a beloved character people wait in Duffy lines to greet. Seems ripe for a film.
The sheer amount of love Dan has for Figment is 100% wholesome. I love every second of it.

Now all that’s left is a little bit of imagineering for the imagination pavilion and the grand return of the iconic dreamfinder.

It says a lot that the Figment meet and greet had a 5 hour queue while the ride had a 5 minute queue

As a person who’s worked customer service, that poor cast member at the ride queue who responded to it being crazy outside with an emphatic “Yeah.” Man, I felt that in my soul, buddy.

Whoo! The crowd was so HYPED UP and I LOVE IT! We were all so happy to see Figment getting the attention he DESERVES!
Love the recent resurgence of Figment's popularity in recent years, spurred on no doubt from the emphasis on classic EPCOT nostalgia and videos from you (Dan), Defunctland, and Expedition Theme Park covering the original attraction.
As a lover of dragons since my youth, he was always an enigma as Imagination was the only ride in Epcot I didn't get to ride when I was young and was sure that it would be at the top of my list to ride when I went back last year. He's childlike, he's cartooney, he's magic, he's purple (my favorite color).
Props to the cast members that helped out with Figment's first day back in Epcot. Those lines looked mighty long!

Haha this is why I love the figment fandom. Epcot people are my favorite niche of Disney fans by far (but maybe I’m a little biased)
It was an amazing meet and greet experience! You captured it perfectly! So cool
I met Figment back in 2008, I remember not knowing who he was but being fascinated by the idea of a character that’s just original to one of the Parks. He didn’t have a long line or big hype, I didn’t see a ton of merch either, he was just there and we could walk out without waiting. My younger sister absolutely hated him bc she didn’t know who he was, and she thought he was “lazy” because he didn’t sign autographs but had a stamp instead of using a pen - she still resents him to this day and I like to send her Figment news about how much people love him now and she gets livid about it 😂 I’m happy he’s getting lots of love lately 💜

Truly amazing! Figment is such an incredible character and it was a real shame that he was retired for so long but now he’s back! Wow Dan this was obviously one of your very best days at Epcot I’m sure. You look just like a big kid again meeting your friend Figment up there! It makes me so happy. I was kinda hoping they would bring back the older costume from the 2000s.
Maybe that costume doesn’t exist anymore or it’s falling apart so that’s why they did a new one.
It was said in the video that the original costume was genuinely hazardous to the cast members wearing it, so the change is certainly welcomed.

If the eyeline is in the red band on his sweater, that head piece is a heavy helmet. That maybe why they have to take breaks more often. It also looks kinda thin, like there is no room for cooling but I don't know...only Disney knows, but kudos to more breaks for cast members.

I've heard that there's a movie about Figment the Dragon produced by Seth Rogen with Rob McElhenney being the director of the movie. So far we haven't heard anything about it since 2022.

We just missed you! We went in the 14th! We did the ride and saw Figment come out of the Dreamport, but we couldn’t wait in the long line to get our picture with him.

I love Figment
I just got back from Florida and the last park I went to was Epcot. The last ride I went on was Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. And before me and my mom got in our seats, and the guy that basically tells you which seat yoy get in noticed the Figment plush I got after riding Journey Into Imagination with Figment. He was also a mega fan 😄 he was nice
