With those odds- you must have found atleast 1 or 2 shinies

I wanna know the history behind Lucy & Yanma. I don't think she's ever said why it's her favorite, granted most people's reason is just 'I just like it' so maybe it's not that interesting.
I think she said it was because she liked bug catching when she was a kid. Whatever the reason is I know she explained it in a video once, I just don't remember which one.
I think she explained that she liked dragonflies as a child in her ‘Top 10 Overlooked Pokémon’ video.
I think she likes it because she use to catch bugs as a kid, and dragonflies aren't native to where she lives- so it's kind of a mishmash of two things she loved when she was younger; pokemon and catching bugs

You’re BRAVE I found a random shiny Koffing in the Safari Zone in SoulSilver once and those were the most nerve racking moments of my LIFE I threw everything at it praying it wouldn’t run and it took forever for me to finally catch it

Played firered years after my gameboy was gone on an emulator, managed to find a shiny rhyhorn. I cheated and save scummed tho to make sure I got it. Still have the shiny rhydon
I once found and caught a shiny psyduck in diamond on full odds in a casual playthrough. It was the first shiny I ever caught. Looking back I now realize how lucky I was to actually catch it.
I've had my fair share of Safari wins and fails, but none are crazier in my collection than my Chansey saga. 11 months, 5 shiny mouldy egg girls, 19 balls total, 4 failures, and finally, I caught it. I got the green Chansey to call my own.
Fun fact. The 4th Chansey stayed for 12 turns. TWELVE. Then it fled on a 3 shake fake...
This is why I try to avoid Safari Zones as much as humanly possible just in case... Yet somehow, I STILL managed to get a Shiny Noctowl in the Great Marsh on pretty much one of my only visits. Thank Arceus I caught it!

The very first shiny I ever found in any Pokémon game was a shiny Bibarel in Diamond’s Great Marsh. It ran away. I was genuinely confused as to why it was colored different and why it sparkled, but that’s what led me to learn about shinies

This year was my first Safari Week, my goal was to encounter 3 shinies and I did exactly that. I caught a Raticate and Exeggcute, and had a purple Slowbro flee from me.

I remember two years ago I was completing my shiny living dex on my cute charm glitched pearl save. It took 10 hours of searching and 7 failed attempts until i got that yanma. Even though 20!!!!% of them are shiny. I cant imagine doing this full odds, how horrifying.

I remember, I was was playing gen 4 for the first time, and I was in the safari zone, and my first encounter was a blue yanma.
the very first shiny I ever encountered was a full-odds mr. mime in the heartgold safari zone. I'm still mad that it got away, and also that out of all the pokemon it couldve been, it was a mr. mime.
I love how people have multiple shinies when I haven't ever gotten 1 :(

Now come to think of it, I think I have four d a shiny, a zubatin omega ruby but that was before I knew shinies existed and I never saved after catching it and sadly my ds died so my some and only ugly shiny zubat ceased to exist
the Safari Zone was probably the first place i found a shiny in- NOT COUNTING YOU SHINY GYARADOS AT LAKE OF RAGE! ...as i was saying, i was just trying to find a Chansey in LeafGreen version and came upon an unusual Rhyhorn. i had forgotten Shiny pokemon existed at the time because i figured they were a gen 2 thing only. needless to say, i chose to try to catch the Rhyhorn. it fled after the second ball, but i managed to find it once again and successfully catch it. unfortunately the cart stopped working days later when i was trying to show my find to a friend on the bus. i think the Rhyhorn was cursed.

Best way to catch a pokemon in Safari Zone- pretend you don't actually want it. Seriously, because I button mash through the text when I encounter a safari pokemon forgetting there's no no animation of sending out your mon, I always accidentally click Throw Ball and you can bet it will catch it if I don't want it.
I wanted you to catch it so bad. That was nerve wracking. I hope you catch one someday!

I found a shiny yanma on my first pokemon game, Y. I didn't even know it was a shiny for a very long time, luckily i didn't release it or anything. Still have it around, so pretty.
I once found a shiny Doduo in the Safari Zone in my Japanese FireRed copy. It ended up breaking out of 7 balls before I ended up catching it. Truthfully, it was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life despite the the pure jubilation I felt after catching it. That's why I hope never to find a shiny in the Safari Zone ever again, else I might get a heart attack. The best part is I wasn't even shiny hunting! I was just trying to find and catch a Kangaskhan for my dex!

My first shiny was in Pokémon White being Cubchoo… no poke balls. In Moon hunted Marinie but got Luvdisc and was like “ok sure might as well” didn’t save and gave up after wards might try hunting on raids. On another note wish shinies were recruitable on Mystery Dungeon DX but they’re only mini boss encounters.
For the first time in my life, I found a shiny. And guess what? It was a stupid Shuckle. A Shuckle!

my first shiny was a shiny shinx in platinum. i had found out about shiny chaining using the pokeradar and had spent months trying to get a long enough streak to get high odds and then just kept resetting radar until a shiny patch showed up.

On my first playthrough of fire red I found a shiny eggxecute the first on my safe file and that was my first shiny and the same day I found a shiny Pidgey the eggxecute was in the safari zone and I was scared it would run they were random encounters too

My longest hunt ever (encounter-wise, not time-wise) was in SoulSilver's Safari Zone. It took me about almost 12,000 encounters to find a shiny Nidoran♀️, which was actually what I wanted the most. Thankfully, I caught it first try. I don't normally like shiny Nidoqueen, but it goes perfectly with a Safari Ball.
