The types that did too much coke? lmao

He's a UNION worker ... notice the belly?

Depends on who you are. A shady seller who blames customers for mechanical problems? Definitely. A victim of bad business practices? You want this man on your side...
Peter agreeing to split the repair cost is him being incredibly generous.
This customer is a dirtbag. The thing worked fine when it left. This idiot sat there and messed with it all day like a maniac and it screwed up somehow. You aren't buying some brand new thing. To act like an asshole about the situation just shows how low class he is.
Better to eat up $200 in repair than to try to repair your image if this fat dude decides to tarnish your reputation online

Dude! Who in the heck tries to claim warranty for a 100 yr old GAMBLING machine at a pawn shop?
You gave this guy way more credit than he deserved. You're a solid dude and businessman.
The slot machine was messed up tho …
shut up! he paid 2k for a machine that immediately stopped working. You are a damn liar if you say you wouldnt be upset
Except the guy was 100% right. Did you watch the video? I'd be pretty pissed to if I paid 2k for a machine that is broke.
What kills me is he calls the machine refurbished but then we hear the story of the machine and it was restored more than 30 years ago. It has been used for god knows how long without ANY known maintenance done on it. That would seriously fucking bother me to only learn that info AFTER buying a machine I was led to believe was recently restored.
@@xPRODIGYxGAMER EXACTLY, I worked in a pawn shop for multiple years and I know the customer is right here.
The deciding factor is that the slot machine worked fine for a few tries when he brought it back and then went to glitching. So it’s clear the customer didn’t break it when he took but rather it’s off and on glitching. To post this customers face on a scamming channel is sick. Leave this guy alone
@@chrismihigo3113its not clear and you have failed to articulate why is would be clear.
No way that guy thinks a 90 year old slot machine comes with a lifetime warranty from a pawn shop. He 100% took advantage of a business that needs to keep everyone happy.
Agree he just played around with it too much and it broke, thats the issue these guys too often get away with this behavior. If he bought it on ebay "Sold as is" and there you cant even test it, nobody would argue that the seller is responsible to fix it... He tested it in the Store and it worked, that should have been the conclusion. You bought it and its your issue now.
@@byCheytacthey probably transported it very poorly. Slot machine parts are fragile. Everything from springs for the slots to the coin mechanism one bad jolt and parts can snap or bend
It hadn’t been a lifetime, he’d just bought it. Should last at least a week, right? He paid a lot of money for a “restored” slot machine. It should work.
Here's my thing, who buys an antique slot machine to sit there and play with it , you buy stuff like that mainly for a display/conversation piece , yeah you want it working , to show people but I'm not gonna be sitting there with $50 worth of quarters playing it .
@@Pluralofvinylisvinyls Yes, in that case: TOUGH LUCK!
Shop owner IS NOT responsible anymore! (and especially if the goods were transported twice(!) in who knows what way.)
However, if you have a decent human being as shop owner, he will try to fix it, look at it, or whatever, and try to make the customer happy. But the shop owner DOES NOT NEED to do that by law!
As with all sales, if it says "As Is" and he literally got to try it, then it's HIS problem. You are too nice...If he is threatening to sue you he will lose in court for buying something sold "As is". My guess is that he may even know what's wrong with it now and just wants to get you to pay for it. What a JERK! And threatening to sue you and yelling at you is NO way to begin a negotiation.

What exactly does this make the guy a creep? Just an average business transaction with a faulty item.
@TickleMyPickleOkay apparently selling an item to a pawn shop is creepy 😂
its the business he's in. A lot of scumbags and lowlifes who are trying to rip you off come and go in the pawn shop business.
The desire for money.
I suppose its differwnt when you own your own business..its his stuff. Its like selling things out of your own house, very differrwnt to working for someone else at minimum wage.
For a man to speak the way he did on your voicemail without even having spoken to you is ridiculous. You're a gracious and kind gentleman, Steve! Thank you for being a good person!

No it definitely the lever with the spring not moving to lock position fast enough. Likely lubrication that turn sticky over time. You can see it when he has the back open and works the mechanism.
Yeah. He opened it up for sure, broke it, then called around for cost to fix it. Then had the idea to haggle the antique shop to pay half of the cost. Well his idea worked !!!

Buy it back. And refuse future sales to him. Great diagnosis on your part too.
From my 20 years of sales and services in computer repairs, not to put that guy in a category, but he reminds of the type of people that would buy a computer completely repaired (and I know the computer is 100% good to go because I take pride of my work) and come back a couple days later saying its broken. I would point out to them this wouldnt happen unless it was dropped or knocked over. Then trying not to admit it, they would try to go half on the cost to fix it again or pay for the part needing replaced. Something tells me they were rough with it or something got loose in transit since it is an old machine.
What I would have done is ask this guy if he wants to return the slot machine and get a partial refund or keep it because it's an antique and sold as is. Especially if he was told that during the transaction. Customer isnt always right.

He is clearly on drugs
Im not so sure, If you're asking $2200 for an item, you're saying/inferring its in good working order. $2200 is the price of a perfectly working machine. This situation reminded me of when I was in car sales. I had a customer who was so nice, deal went smooth, everyone’s happy; next day check engine light on a year old used car with 5k miles on it. We took care of it at no cost, but it really sours a nice interaction
I sell used items much the same way that you do and I am impressed with the way you handled this situation. Making the customer feel like he or she was treated fairly is always the best thing to do even if it costs you a little. An unhappy customer can really hurt your business, but most importantly it was the right thing to do and that is what life is all about. I’m sure you got the issue resolved easily and turned a potentially negative exchange into a positive one. Bravo!
Honey’s face …she is gorgeous. And Ruby? Well she knew the video trick was all about timing. And she nailed it. No magic needed though, you are all special.
Respect brother. You're a helluva business man!
You have to make it good either fix it or refund it to keep the integrity of your business
90 year old machine purchased from a pawn shop should always be sold as is - caveat emptor
When you put in the quarter and it worked... His jaw dropped lower than the handle! I would give him his money back and sell it to someone else. That guy will be calling every month.
Pete is a people person, he was being fair to a customer, and a happy customer always brings you more business, nice customer relations Pete! This is why you are successful in business and on youtube!
Kick rocks, but you're a good dude. More patient than i could ever be.
7:00 that is THE most fair thing, tbh
