Thanks for starting the unit on the ground that's the proper way!
safety first;) Thanks for the comment
Love the noise only Stihl makes
old, good 2 strokes. My old Yamaha Aerox scooter sounded similar
Piotr Cierkosz yep, it sounds like a bike, with that metal clanging noise. I’m slowly changing my garden maintenance equipment to stihl product
Good job
Tank you
You didn’t show it ,but you got the petrol cap back on … well done
what about changing the uber complicated strimmer spool flex??
Was the head spinning before you even pressed the throttle
How do you install the cutting head and shield? 😢
Does this trimmer have a "bump feed" or 'tap'n go' style of head, ie you bump it on the ground to extend the cutting line ?
you can simply bump it or extend by hand if you want to extend the head's lifetime. However, I have it for almost 10 years now and no issues at all
You need to clean the grass off the fuel container to avoide getting grass clippings in the machines fuel tank.
You are right. Thanks for comment:)
Thanks for not hating me :-) I Just bought FS 50. Very good machine, but I have trouble with the autocut head.
Absolutely. And you make sure mix is correct my measuring the oil to fuel ratio when you fill fuel can. Red color has a wide range of ratio. Lame
Those fuel caps can be troublesome to use when they get old.good little strimmer though
Hi, can you explain how to mix the gas... and put like name and picture of fuel additive to add to gas and what kind of gas. Thank you
It’s quite easy
Get your 5 litre jerrycan full with fresh petrol or gasoline. Then look on the machine itself or the manual for the ratio of petrol to 2 stroke oil. If it’s the universal mix, it will be 50:1 so 50 parts petrol to 1 part oil. That would mean for 5 litres of petrol you’ll need 100ml of 2 stroke oil. If the machine needs 40:1 ratio then divide the amount of fuel you have in ml by the ratio so for example, divide 5000ml by 50 or 40 depending on the required ratio then that will tell you the required amount of 2 stroke oil.
Good video!
Does the trimmer always start at full throttle on the first start? Mine starts at full throttle / full speed and I need to pull the trigger once and then it goes into idle. Is that normal?
Hi yes it does. We have the same one
what did you mix?? you didnt explain what to mix
Do you have a video to re wire the SF40 as I find it very difficult to do? Thank you.
is this strimmer suitable for large garden? i am ambivalent.
It is designed for small gardens. However, I used it for my garden (around 400sqm), my parents garden (400sqm), sometimes my grandmas garden(2000+ sqm) and neighbours gardens to earn while studying.
Have it for over 10yrs and it's running like new
He didn't even put the cap back on before starting it.
Thanks for pointing that out. However, it tends to loose after couple hours of work and guess that was the issue. I admit should check it before start.
Because stilh in their wisdom changed the design of fuel cap, and its a right pain in the arse,
Never full over the grass...is dripping
true:)
bearly heard you
Couldn't hear shit with the engine running..
It is quite noisy, that's why I've added subs
Rubbish
