Dude, the explanation on music that is "more forward" and "competes with the game" is a genius way of explaining how I've always viewed indie and Japanese OSTs, compared to the more "safe" or "backgroundish" or "movie-like" music of modern AAA Western games. Thank you!

Thank you guys for continuing to develop my favorite game series! Risk of Rain 2: Seekers of The Storm is now my most anticipated project in the gaming industry, since I have already played 1000 hours of RoR 2 (this is my longest gaming time)! I'm looking forward to further news and Release Date of the upcoming RoR 2: SoTS, from the description this Expansion №2 sounds even more interesting than SoTV was! And I also hope for future content support for RoR: Returns!
The new maps look so great I hope they add stage variations to every map later on
@@mymousebroke8258Probably, Day and Night are Stage variants only for Verum Fall, but definitely there will be completely different stages, as was in SoTV! Perhaps there will be a mod that adds a day/night cycle, something like StageAesthetic. I definitely like the theme and atmosphere of this new Expansion! It's possible that SoTS has been in development since the beginning of this year and it will be released early next year

Risk of Rain 2 is one of my favorite games of all time and just beat my first (easy mode) run in Risk of Rain Returns. Absolutely one of the GOATs

You guys need to create a survivor based off the composer/artist who did the soundtrack for RoR 1+2. Their music is legendary. The survivor should use an electric guitar/piano and other musical instruments to deal damage and help heal/buff the team 👍

I remember buying Risk of Rain, 10 years ago in High School. Played it for hours and hours and hours. Then bought it another 3 times for various platforms. I'm so happy to play Risk of Rain Returns, and Risk of Rain 2. One of my favorite series ever. Thank you for all the memories this series gave me.

5:15, honest thought here, i think that risk of rain 2 pretty much perfected ror1 formula, but a big part of it was definely the jump to 3d, im convinced that the game would not have reach the heights it is today if that didnt happen, now thatxs not to say ror1 formula was bad, quite te contrary it was pretty darn good, but by applying it in 3d it definely fill the gaps it needed to be the masterpiece it is today.
I was there when the original launched and we had to do Hamachi connections in order to play, it was frustrating to set up but the game itself had a charm and allure that keeps going to this day.
Not yet sure of what to think about the gacha game, feels like a cheap cash grab.
The way I see it, the DLC and everything being done Inhouse feels like a genuine attempt to continue ROR's legacy, whereas the Gacha feels like the fast money move to satisfy shareholders and assure them that te expenditure on the IP was the correct choice, I hope the gacha game will be the only one, Since once the money from the main projects starts rolling in, the shareholders/company will be less likely to have to justify it with cash grabs like this. But a companys greed can cause many problems, heres hoping it doesn't here
The gacha game is dumb as long as the gacha mechanics stay away from the mainline games it's not a big deal imo

Since ror returns dropped, I haven't been able to put it down. As someone who joined the franchise late, thank you for releasing the remaster around this time. Now I don't have to feel any way about skipping cod this year

risk of rain was something id come back to throughout my adolescence and early adulthood. I first played ROR1 near launch, i was 13 years old. I'm now 23, hyped as all hell to have Returns and an incoming RoR2 DLC, and have even contributed art to various ROR2 mods and sprited my own for ROR1 (Inquisitor).

One of the best games ever made hands down. The passion and love is a strong recurring feeling throughout all their games. In its essence a true gamers game and I will never stop playing it.

My favorite Risk of Rain moment was trying to beat Mithrix every run when 1.0 for RoR2 came out. Glad to see Providence in Returns is a familiar experience.

Where can I communicate bugs to the devs? Playing with my friends last night on the new risk of rain 2 console update we ran into at least 6 bugs and it litterally ended our 3 hour run
I think the biggest thing I'm looking for from the next DLC is some new and fresh enemies - and I'm not talking some crap like the Blind Pests and Larvae.

I love the franchise, Hopoo, Gearbox, etc. But this video truly shows the difference between indie devs and devs owned by publicly-traded companies. Hopoo: "we wanted to make a game that we wanted to play." Gearbox: "we want to make a game that pleases the fans." Neither are wrong. But you can truly see how these separate mentalities affect game development and the final product.
