What fantastic cows. I've been watching your channel, and I've never seen them here in oregon. They seem s friendly and docile. Definitely a sign of a good caregiver
Thank you. There is a lot in how you handle livestock and how they respond to that handling. My type of cattle are in America but like here they are not as popular as the grey type zebu/Brahman. Thanks for commenting👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺
What a great and touching video! Made my day. I've got an orphaned deer fawn behind the house I've been looking after. So small and by itself. Anyway, all the best as always and God bless you all!
Thanks John, I imagine orphan deer are tiny delicate looking creatures, like an aristocratic goat😂 but that might be Disney talking. All the best with the fawn👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺
Rob that reminded me of my farm life especially that Maggie. We had a farm in the south west aust , We had pet Maggie s and they become the boss in our case. Great to see you getting good at picture taking.
Great video Rob, I have 2 bullocks that were both bottle calves and are now pets which isn't good policy I know but they keep the grass down, always good seeing what your up to with the animals
Pets have there place, it’s easy to have pet cows especially female ones because you can justify it with calves😉😂. But the longer I travel on the roller coaster of life they are also a great reality check about what is really important and that is the moment, which is all most pets care for.
Great any video Mate. Just a little help and no doubt you are feeding mince to the maggie but run it by a vet and they should help you out with what else the bird needs regards vitamins etc. The vet visit should cost you nothing as it's Aussie wildlife and you are looking after it. I was the local animal and injured bird go-to person to help mend these critters.
keep going block you will get up to pete s numbers yet just keep going and going you have good content and a loving family good luck. and keep trying you will get there .
Thanks Col, I’m not competing with anyone. I really enjoy Pete’s content and his attitude to life in general. I watched a lot of his channel when I spent my first extended stay in hospital. His definitely part of the reason I thought I could do my own channel. 👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺
Yep we had one as a kid as well. It was a female and eventually went off doing female bird things. I think if it was/is a male the chances of it hanging around are a bit better. We already have super friendly magpies so will be interesting to see what happens
@@mountainblokemoments Some one complained to the council and they spent weeks trying to catch it, funny as all getout. It used to sleep on my bed head and pull my hair when Mum and Dad got up in the morning. Just another kid in the family, great experience.
@@unclemarkyeatonshill5803 makes you wonder what they had to complain about🤷. They are such a feisty bird and really only do what they want, like a cat with wings😂. It feels like an honour when they give you some loving, grooming your eyebrows or in my case pulling beard hairs out.
I did not get a good look at the magpie but I think it is a male, the white cape on the back of the neck is bigger on the male and therefor smaller on the female.
White cape at this stage is not very pronounced or distinctly white. I’m not sure you can tell on a fledgling, once all its chicken downy feathers grow out, hopefully will be able to get a better idea.
@@mountainblokemoments I've got a mate in melbourne who I call Cooch, his mrs, Aunt Dolly, the kids pongo, Rangi and Spit. And the kind hearted lad in return calls me Wal. Her favourite game was to catch the cat in the pillow case tied to the clothes line while it spun around. My kids found it funny but the dragon used to spit fire and brimstone when she caught them. I ageer with the kids.

Hi Rob, great video mate 👍 beautiful looking calf.
Thanks Brett👍🏼👍🏼
Have been watching you for a while, love your farm and your beautiful animals, love Alis when you are working on it. 👌
Thanks Allan, I appreciate the comment I’m sure I’ll get back to the Allis once I get a few things sorted.👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺

Good on ya Rob, good vid mate, hope your going ok 👍
Going okay, still regular doctor visits and bloods but I just take each day as it comes👍🏼

Glad I could give you a little trip down memory lane👍🏼 magpies are like cats with wings I reckon they have some serious attitude that’s for sure.
Dr Doolittle aka Rob, ❤the wee heifer is gorgeous you need to name her! you’ve got Maggie the magpie. Hope your feeling well👍🏴
Thanks Alasdair, will see what name the poddy ends up with I generally wait for a name to come along that fits their personality.

That's a very good way of putting it thanks Rob
Salut from Brunswick Maine US. I was hatched in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada in 1952
Up up the Canada goose 😉😂
Sheep! Really, worked with them a few times in my younger days, what a pain in the arse 🙃. But the two young ones look great 👍
Mainly got them for eating 🍽️ 🥩. Trying to keep the grocery budget under control😳
@@mountainblokemoments now that sounds like a good plan 👌

I’ve been told/googled that feeding to much mince is not good for them. I give it a little mince but it is mainly eating soaked dog biscuits.
ok best of luck

We had a live-in magpie for about 6 years, it didn't think it was a magpie, made a great watchdog. Now they make movies about it.

I don't want to see a man standing in a paddock waving his hose around.
Never touch the yellow snow.
