Victor is such an incredible actor. Notice how he verbalizes, with emphasy and charisma. His accent too is truly iconic❤
I do really love the vampire armor design. It´s delightfully distinct.
For me it's the best fantasy armor I have seen so far, followed by Gondorian armors in LOTR and Lannister armors in GoT

What I love about this movie scene is that the vampires actually responded to the ambush swiftly and dealt with William swiftly with low casualties

I liked the power dynamic in this series.
Just cause Marcus was the original vampire and the physically most powerful one doesn't mean he calls the shots, because he turned Viktor, who had his forces and which only listen to him.
Marcus really should've chosen better.
His brother was out of control. If left unchecked, the Lycans would have spread at a rate that outnumbers Vampires, to the point that all humans would become Lycans. Unlike Vampires, they don't need human blood. So for Lycans to spread unchecked, would mean they would consume the world, leaving Vampires with nothing to feed on. One also have to keep in mind the world population at the time too, which was just a few hundred million people, which is tiny compared to today. And since Lycans do need to eat something, even for humans they are a problem because they would need a ton of livestock to survive, a lot more than a normal human. That means a world of Lycans would be very difficult to keep fed, they'd essentially eat everything in sight and pick the planet clean, making the planet barren, ultimately dooming themselves. Vampires however were the more restrained kind. So Viktor wasn't a particularly evil person, he just knew the ultimate consequences of unchecked Lycans and Vampires alike.

Victor always standing on business, man ego is over the roof even if he was old before turning.
Viktor had to fight for all he had and him being highly intelligent and doing that made his ego giant. Its kind of understandable. He did it from his own mind and it wasn't given to him. People who get power not because of them having pretty privilege, skin or etc should walk around like that because you have no clue how many people wanted to see them fail. Viktor's case and point amassing all of this from being a warlord
Victor really want to end william here but because Marcus dont want his brother to die he just wants to imprison him.. And victor cant kill marcus and he cant imprison him because some other vampire can kidnap him and turn other vampire against victor.. Hes a strategist so he just want to imprison the rabid brother..

I love how Markus never showed his true power/form in front of others to let Viktor play the top dawg. He could have easily killed him.
Yes and no, full power vampire Marcus was more powerful than Victor and could have killed him one on one, but he could´t kill him because he was always alert, if he tried, Amelia and the other vampires would have killed him instead, he lost the political power play

@@akpevbeNot quite. The whole "Kill Marcus, kill us all" was a lie Marcus fabricated. And that lie becomes very evident by the end of this movie when Selene kills him and the rest of the vampires are fine. Marcus did that so he didn't have to risk the vampires turning on him.
The reason why he even needed other vampires in the first place was because he needed help trying to quell William and the lycans his rampage produced. He especially required Viktor because Viktor was a warlord when he was human. I'm sure he also recognized that because of his combat experience, along with his newfound power, he would still be a noticeable threat to Marcus. (Think of how Viktor was still able to overpower Michael when he was a hybrid, even though hybrids are supposed to be stronger than all vampires and lycans. Because Viktor had centuries of combat experience.)
But yeah, vampires were just a means to an end for Marcus. And I'm sure he just wanted a failsafe to make sure that his creations didn't turn on him. So he told them this lie when he created Viktor and Amelia .

If only Victor was more pragmatic. He should've killed William regardless. That way, if his progeny did survive, that would also mean Victor could deal with Marcus and really be the original vampire while still keeping his daylight slaves. For a time anyway until Lucian is born.

Marcus is the source, the original vampire. Yet here, he seems a little submissive to Victor because he need Victor to utilize his army in dealing with the werewolves that can't be controlled. Despite Marcus being the strongest vampire, he alone can't control with the werewolves by himself so he turned Victor and his army into immortals. Marcus isn't interested in power by this point, he was only trying to save his twin brother and slaughter the animals. He cares about humanity as well, that's the purpose of army of Victor.
I knew i remembered a version of underworld evolution where the opening credits had quotes from the first movie as part of the background sound

The strongest warrior can be slain with a single arrow. Anyone can be brought down if they are caught unawares.
Victor being given immortality by Marcus to gain access to his army makes no fucking sense to me. Marcus is an immortal warrior, why didn\t he just kill Victor and take his lands and armies for himself? And we never get any real information on why Amelia was turned at all.
Imagine this: Best warlord all over the continent, new guy comes in, kills your boss, and tells everyone to follow him. He doesn't sleep, he doesn't eat, he doesn't loot like your old warboss, you kill him, he doesn't die,he kills everyone then he goes on to another warband and does the same thing. Markus wanted a quick army, doesn't matter if the army doesn't follow him as long as they follow Victor's orders,, plus the lie (the "If Markus dies, every vampire dies") propagated basically controlled them.
Marcus was not as bitter in the beginning. He needed Victor help because his father was to busy protecting humans. Through the years he realized he made a mistake trusting victor.

Having Michael in his Hybrid form actually fighting back and it taking a group of Lycans to even bring him down. Then it would have made more sense to why they caught him.

Marcus’ vulnerability was his love for his brother. Victors army was loyal only to him, so any move Marcus made against Victor meant William would die.

Did you not watch the 2nd installment?? He literally broke through a stone wall with ease. Destroyed Kraven and his minons in seconds. Fought Michael to a standstill then impaled him (he could have killed him) Where was he simped??? He hold back because his brother William was secretly hidden by Viktor using Selena's parents to build the tomb. Didn't you watch the movies???

@@BlankName88 Viktor was a great strategist/general and he had a large army, this was the main reason markus turned Viktor and joined forces with him why he didn’t just go and build his own army idk I guess it was easier to just find someone who already had everything he needed nevertheless, Markus’s biggest advantage was the lie that if he died all of the other vampires including Viktor and Amelia would die too as such they never laid a hand on him but on the other side of the situation because it was a lie Markus knew better than to test Viktor’s patient too much cause he knew Viktor if pushed to that point would risk killing him even if it would lead to his own death a fate which despite being more powerful Markus wanted to avoid at all cost

A vampire is strong enough and fast enough to deliver a stronger charge on foot, more durable and doesnt panic when it encounters strange smells like those of a werewolf. A vampire on a horse is more vulnerable by far.
Hate how they nerfed vampires. Speed, strength..... nope, as soon as they fight a werewolf they are all of a sudden as powerful as a human. Plus the last two of these movies were borderline unwatchable

It's obvious that you have that mentality of a teenager who just came out of watching True Blood or Vampires Diaries haha no vampire here moves at human speed, what's happening is that they are fighting with THEIR EQUALS IN STRENGTH AND SPEED. selene the main girl can take down alot of humans and they cant even see her moves and she is a young one. but with lycans she need to be smart because they can see her in his vamp speed.
Watch the movies and learn the lore instead of watching clips of it. The werewolf you see here is pure blood, they are literally made by the first wolf, they are clearly going to be stronger than vampires made by the third generation of vampires.
Everything here has context, you have to see everything. the last 2 movies where trash yeas but the lore her is too good.

In this show lycans or were wolves were the same thing they all originated with William the white lycan and original once turned lost all humanity and were unable to shift back. but victor began to use them to gaurd him and his people during the day then one of them was turned into a lycan while pregnant and the baby mutated inside her becoming the first lycan able to change back to human and from him a new line began of lycans that could shift form. That was Lucien by the way.

If Marcus was the first Vampire and if he dies all the vamps die, why would he be taking orders and callig Victor Lord??
Marcus lied to Victor, going with the old "I'm the original. If I die, every vampire dies." Victor didn't really want to test that theory so ge didn't try and kill him outright after being changed. Not that it would have helped. Marcus would have killed him easily. However by then, Victor had changed his whole army and nobles to vampires. Marcus was outgunned at that point.
Sure, he could perhaps takes 50, 100 maybe 200 vampires down before they took him as he's stronger than them but he would eventually fall. And Victor wouldn't need to kill him then. Just lock him up like William for all time.
Marcus chose to be smart and live long enough to find out where William was imprisoned and who had the keys than let himself be taken out by Victor and his army
