Keep going, it is the journey that really matters. every time I have a painting that doesn't work out I ask myself what I learned. If it's not a keeper, I just paint over it again.
I love the way your abstract figures each seem to have their own character. What a great exploration, and also enjoyed your overview of the painting process.
Thank you. It was a really fun exercise, maybe it’s time to do some more :) I hope you’ll check out more of my later videos and let me know what you think. I’m always exploring with different subjects and styles ❤️
Not crap, not garbage. It is an expression of your desire to create and connect. Explorations is the most important part of my art practice. Going beyond a pretty picture… thank you for sharing your journey. You have inspired me today!
Agreed 👍 Also the good thing about doing 100 of them is that you will maybe find a few gems that you can then develop into a larger scale work of Art. Plus by painting and not focusing on a specific outcome you will learn different things about what works and what doesn't. And those mistakes are more important than anything else.
So inspiring love everything you said. Here’s a quote that I love that relates … “We don’t create a fantasy world to escape reality ;We create it to be able to stay “ Lynda Barry.

barbara henninger Thank you. I hope you will try making some. If you haven’t seen his videos, be sure to check out Bob Burridge’s figure painting videos. I’ve learned a lot from him.
I found your thoughts on the Why of creating art really interesting, and the idea of making art that's not necessarily for sale, but simply to be creative hits home for me.
Awesome. I’ve been getting super distracted lately as I’ve started talking to galleries and various people about selling my art. It was really about to start affecting the work I make - I think I’m close to getting myself re-centered and back in a good mindset, but money changes everything and not always for the better.
@@RLDSTUDIO sadly so true. If I made a picture board of art I LOVED and a different picture board of art I make, the disconnect is mind-boggling. I'm going to fix that!!
I love painting figures also I'm nowhere near as good as you are but I think there's definitely a market for those if you did those on some good sized canvases there's definitely a market
Thanks! I've ended up actually selling some of these, so people seemed to really like them in person. Which is good because all these paintings are stacking up in my studio :) Keep working on the art - it gets easier with practice :)
As an artist myself art for it something inside of me that I have to do. It comes as naturally as breathing. By that I mean making art. I'm not saying all my art is wonderful just that I feel a need to do art. Your pieces are beautiful. Keep going from your gut. Always create what you feel. Have a great week.😊
Thank you… I love that philosophy. And I feel the same way, I just have to make art… it’s what I do :) I have sooo much video content that I haven’t even edited yet… I work full time but paint at least 3-4 days a week.
Hello....although I prefer realistic and classical paintings but recently I discovered the beauty of such abstract figures of yours and others , and I am fascinated by your techniques. Well, art is so deep to combine two different styles in its majesty.
Thanks. Since I did this video I've started dabbling in realistic art. If you are interested I'd love it if you checked out some of my later videos painting realistic subjects... I've done some birds, bugs, barns, shark teeth and more. I'll be sharing some videos of more surrealism paintings with realism mixed in... soon :)

I tend to gravitate to abstract art. I can do realistic pieces, but l don't prefer doing them. I think, for me, it is because I am a perfectionist and I can't stop until the piece is "correct." I don't have that with abstract work.
I think this is a great insight. I think it applied to me as well at the time of this video and I didn’t fully realize it. I’ve started challenging myself to do some realistic and surrealistic subject matter and have been really enjoying it. If you are interested I’ve made a bunch of painting videos on realistic subject matter since. Ones that come to mind are a cowboy trinket, several shark teeth paintings, golden scarabs, pearls and butterflies and there are a lot more. I find the more I paint the less concerned I am with perfection. It’s a great relief and now I’m open to playing and exploring with both styles. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much. You can do it! Once I started taking art seriously and practicing almost daily I saw huge improvement. Do not be afraid to try and be willing to make mistakes. I love Bob Burridge and have learned a lot from his videos for sure.

I think you make beautiful art and maybe you do underestimate yourself by saying that others find it cheap and terrible. That is their judgment and says nothing about your work. NEVER sell your work for less because of someone else's opinion. So STOP telling yourself AND others (in publike) that you don't do it for the money or whatever.

Not abstract
All art is an abstraction, it’s an abstraction of reality, time and truth.
