Out daughter is one of the head aquarists at the aquarium. Everyone always gets a chuckle when we say she’s a marine biologist in Omaha. Great city to live in! Great zoo and aquarium!
Another wonderful video! Fingers crossed on the rebuild for the CV joint shaft! Thank you for the warning about the snakes! This wimp closed her eyes and Michael told me when it was safe! 😂 Rose & Michael
Congrats Bob! Carnivore 3 years here and wish I found this many years before. My two favorite things these days, eating well and traveling as much as possible. Will be on the road full time someday. Happy trails and best of luck Bob.
Echoing Bob’s story. 2 months carnivore: down 25 lbs, psoriasis reducing, BP down, cholesterol normal (first time in my life). Very thankful. I enjoy your videos and hope you can get your van fixed soon.
Saw birds there I’ve only seen in Africa! What a great zoo! The Lied family has done wonderful philanthropic works in Nebraska including the Lied Center at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha; where my late wife and I stayed during her cancer therapy. We were so wonderfully cared for there. Nebraska certainly has a lot to offer. Thanks!
Wow! That's a dramatic weight loss. Good for him! We've been recommended this zoo by so many people and now we see why. That looked like loads of fun. Great video!
Thanks for taking us to the zoo! I had no idea Omaha had such an outstanding zoo. I grew up going to the San Diego Zoo so I'm spoiled. So sorry about the parts problem. I hope Plan C rebuild works!
THIS zoo is now on my bucket list!! Thank you and Semi-Retired Bob for taking us along! Great video and photography, Carrie, as always! Bob, you look MARVELOUS!
Congratulations Bob🎉😊🎊 Sherri Praying you and Dave get this Van situation resolved. 🙏 Also, thank you for sharing this wonderful zoo tour....It is one of a kind 👍
They did a nice job! Bob was telling some of the history. There are two monkeys who escaped there little area ( they cannot get outside) but they are running free inside the jungle and he said they can’t catch them. That gave me a chuckle!
If you are willing to think outside of the box here are my two cents. I would encourage you to consider converting a Ford E-Series shuttle van. The platform that these are built on went virtually unchanged from 1992-2013 meaning there are tons and tons of them out there and there will always be parts on the shelf. As a body on frame construction is is significantly more stout then a ProMaster. This are the same platform that is used for ambulances to this day. I you haven't noticed nobody is using the ProMaster vans as ambulance's and there is a reason for that . Most shuttle vans are E-450 which is a super heavy duty one ton....they are built to last forever. Companies like Amazon buy ProMasters because they are cheap and basically disposable. Ford E-series from the E-250-E450 have the heaviest duty steering and suspension components in the industry. My ford E-250 has 8 lug nuts and my camping partner's Promaster has 5 lug nuts. This speaks volumes about how heavy duty the respective vehicles are. The Ford, by virtue of being front engine and rear wheel drive, ,has much greater ground clearance. When I go camping with my ProMaster friend she will frequently hop in my van so the we can scope out a rough road to determine if her van is able...it often is not. I have owned 6 ford vans including a Class B and a Class C camper van. My class B Ford Econoline camper van had 500,000 miles on it when I sold it to a friend. My current Ford E-250 spends half of its time going off road here in Colorado. That van is 14 years old and has never failed me. The Ford network has almost 1,000 more dealerships than Dodge.
I like your thinking! However, we don’t exactly have the money to start over or buy a new ( new to us) van. We would have to sell the one we are in. That means fixing the issues first…. It’s a possibility 🤷♀️
Long time subscriber, first time commenter. My husband and I (Promaster owners) enjoy your content. We have been keto and now carnivore for years. We are in our 60’s and feel terrific. Extremely active, trim, med free and no health issues! This way of eating is amazing. Hope Bob inspires more people to eat a proper human diet. I noticed Bob was wearing a carnivore T-shirt at the zoo. Keep up the good work!
Yes! We love all carbs but they don’t love us back! Dave is also highly addicted to sugar when he allows himself to be. He has especially noticed a huge difference in how he feels. So much so that he doesn’t want to cheat because it makes him feel bad. Thanks for following our journey! Maybe one of these days we will meet you on the road somewhere😃
@@oneadVANtureatatime It takes time. Took well over a year to wean off carbs, but once it is done it becomes not only easier, but most ppl I have talked to no longer want carbs mostly because they just feel terrible when they have some. Will change everything about your life, from feeling good to being able to do more. Stretch out that adventure time and ability for as long as possible! Good luck, thanks for all the adventures. I knew I recognized Bob, had come across him in carnivore circles before!
I thoroughly enjoy how well your selection of music flows so naturally with your filming adventures. This was a particularly 👁 popping video especially when you showcased the colorful jellyfish.
Thank you! I try hard to match music to how a place or situation makes me feel. Those jellyfish were mesmerizing…. I could have watched them for an hour at least!
Good evening Dave, Carrie & double ear rubs Roodle ! What an awesome adventure ! The zoo was an amazing place, looked like you & Bob had a wonderful time ! Wishing you lots of luck in finding what you need for the Storm Trooper ! Safe travels & keep smiling !
A little late on this one, I was working on the cap for my truck to get on the road. That CV axle should be able to be rebuilt as what goes in them is the CV joint and is generally not too difficult to fix. In fact it may be cheaper and just a good just to replace the CV joint. The rest of the axle is just a piece of steel tubing that generally doesn't go bad, but it's been a long time since I've dealt with one, like on a 1983 Ford Escort. Good luck guys and keep the good stuff coming.
We had it right axle rebuilt in Texas…. Unfortunately it did not take care of our initial problem of the shutter/ vibration at 40-60 mph. We are heavily leaning towards the torque converter in the transmission. We are driving it now until we can’t! Doing research but this might mean a transmission rebuild when it gets bad🤷♀️
Dave has hardly aged at all from that 20 year old clip of him and Bob till now. That is crazy that you wake up and find yourself next to lot full of Promasters.
Sometimes you need to think outside the box actually what I mean is outside of the U.S. you should check and see what other countries your vehicle was built in and see if you can order parts from them through a dealership or on your own. Good luck.
Yes! We just worked with a mechanic who goes to other countries where help is needed. Mexico is definitely a option… we need to look into that more. I wonder what the import fee would be…. Maybe that’s is the deal breaker.🤷♀️
Currently available cv axles. This past summer, I replaced my right side cv axle and my right motor mount. I got them both from Amazon. I just checked, and they still have some in stock. Have put over 3000 miles on since then, and they are doing fine. Hope this helps
Thanks guys for another great video. Good luck with the van. BTW - The Cincinnati zoo is also ranked as one of the best in the country. As we have said before you are welcome to come visit us and stay at our place anytime. Take care. Bill and Ellen Smith Cincinnati Ohio
Thanks Ellie! We think it has to do with the torque converter in the transmission. Could be a costly fix in the long run….. however, for now we continue exploring until storm trooper (our van) says “that’s it, I’m done”. We will face that problem when is comes
Love the zoo!🤗 Hi! To semi-retired Joe watched his you tube channel also. Hope your van gets fixed. Later from Southern New Mexico🌵🌶️ Nope not watching the snakes....like the rest of the zoo. Ive heard of rattlers being as long as 7ft and seen a pitchure of one that a friend had killed on his ranch by his house many yrs ago.😮
Really enjoyed the Zoo footage. It is so good to see SEMIRETIRED BOB doing so well. I subscribe to his channel , too. I hope the van troubles can work out somewhere down the road. Pet Roodle for us and bless you all.
+Anthony Hitchings that was our “we are desperate” plan! We were able to have the axle rebuilt but unfortunately it did not take care of the problem. We think it might be the torque converter with the transmission 🤷♀️ still looking into this. For now it is drivable and we continue west!
Yes! There are over 1000 cv axles ordered on back order! It’s going to be awhile before they get caught up. One dealer said they have over 100 cars waiting for parts.
if you 2 still in Omaha area and need a place to park come on over you are welcome in Glenwood 16 miles South of Omaha in Iowa plenty of space for you 2 to park for a few days

His transformation is remarkable!!
That zoo is humongous!! We only saw a small portion!
Sorry to hear about the challenges with the van. I’m sure you two innovators will come up with a plan. Prayers up for safety in the journey. ✌️❤️🙏

Fabulous zoo. Thanks for taking us along.
That jungle was super nice! They really went all out with their structures. 👍
My favourite part!

Awesome job Bob- I started carnivore in May this year. Love it!
Oh my…congratulations SemiRetired Bob… 👏
Dave has hardly aged at all from that 20 year old clip of him and Bob till now. That is crazy that you wake up and find yourself next to lot full of Promasters.
Same outfit and all!!😂😂😂Dave gets that “not aging thing” from his mom!

Maybe a junk yard for a better then you have axle? One with less mileage. Till a new one can be found. 🤷🏼♂️ just a thought.
We thought about that but we have no knowledge on how to remove it and if it’s in Better or worse shape than what we got🤷♀️
Some pull it for you. You could pay a shop to install it. Some junkyards will put it in also. Just a thought.

Yeah…. They can get big! And a cluster (den or nest) of them is my worst nightmare!! Where abouts in New Mexico are you!
@@oneadVANtureatatime Hola👋I'm in southern New Mexico Near the Gila Forest nearest town is Silver City.
Really enjoyed the Zoo footage. It is so good to see SEMIRETIRED BOB doing so well. I subscribe to his channel , too. I hope the van troubles can work out somewhere down the road. Pet Roodle for us and bless you all.
consider a junkyard axle and run that for a year or two or more

Having a van. It’s almost a good idea to have a small car to pull behind incase you break down and need to get around
Or at least a motorcycle 🏍️
With all those promasters, you could've stole one. Seriously, did you check junk yards?
Have you checked out junk yards for you part.
Junk yard would be a last resort for the part we are looking for. We found a shop who who has a guy that just rebuilds axles😃
Mopar employees are on strike so parts will be hard to get
Yes! There are over 1000 cv axles ordered on back order! It’s going to be awhile before they get caught up. One dealer said they have over 100 cars waiting for parts.

Thank you so much! We are moving west! We had a wedding I was photographing in Dallas Texas that kept us on the move.
