Well, this is actually quite a touchy subject. Some people say that some lift is created by downwash thanks to newton's third law and some say it's created by the pressure difference. Some say it's a mix of the two. Others say these are just 2 ways of computing and understanding total lift on a wing. The difference in pressure is generally the most common description and understanding of how an airplane creates lift so I chose to present it this way. However, I might make another video explaining downwash and how that can be used to understand lift on a wing. Hope that helps!
@@LuxPlanesAh, thanks for the reply. It is no doubt true that what you say in the video is true, I just wrote this comment because the book 'Stick and Rudder' by Wolfgang Langewiesche explains how planes fly and says this is the main reason for lift. It is a really good book on not just how planes fly, but on how to fly them. Despite it being from the 1940's it's still very accurate today. It has 250000 copies in print and I do recommend it. I'm not 100% sure what the real reason is, but it is a really interesting topic and probably all the factors mentioned by him and Bernoulli are the reason planes fly, however I think the explanation of Wofgang makes most sense. I think it's a great idea to add the downwash theory into one of your videos. Good luck!
No you are wrong its both the you can test it by taking a narrow sheet of paper putting it under your lips then blowing harder over it. What will happen is the paper will flow up as there is a low pressure zone above it and there is no change in air pressure below it. However most lift is generated this way depending on speed and the attitude/speed the airfoil is design to work at. For commercial airlines generall you can say its both methods but for military aircraft that are designed to fly at higher speeds its the method you explain. This is the reason why aircraft like the SR-71 or F-16 have generally mostly flat airfoils that look the can almost be perfectly mirrored from top to bottom
Explanation: so an airplane engine produces thrust but lam going to be talking about the basic engine the turbofan. It works by the toothspone which makes the blades spin then comes the Tevins by taking power from the air to the toothspone and the air goes to the combustion chamber which is were air is mixed with fuel and is ignited and makes a blast of both energy and air which makes the plane move 😊 Like for pt.2

the main idea is actually the same way! the rotor blades are shaped like wings, and instead of needing to move forward to get the air flowing over the blades, it just spins them around, creating the same lift force! i could make a video on it in the future! thanks for the idea :)
learn more: lift of a wing is calculated and if the lift isnt more than gravity the plane wont fly, meaning you cant just shape a foam board in aileron shape that could make it fly

No. The main reason is that the wing pushes the air down. The counterforce pushes the wing up.
