The fee also includes utilities, parking, and trash. So, technically, he's paying 400 and change for a safe place to park his home in an area convenient to places he frequents. Sounds like a win to me. Since he doesn't own the lot itself, he has no property tax or land upkeep costs, which is also a savings to consider. Beautiful tiny. This was a great tour.
If you paid for this in NYC same cuteness and size. 7 million dollars or $10,000 month rent. This is luxury living. And such a responsible choice. Great job! 👏
True. Find the hairline crack in a molar. Must rule that out. Don't give up. I'm from Seattle, went Kona, now back in my childhood weekend town, Cle Elum. Next stop, South Sound. 😎Hi Jen, you're channel is by far the best.😊
I’m still amazed that it’s 24’ long. It is a well designed 24’. A tub too. I love that his sliding door doesn’t look rustic. That opening side light was a great addition!
Legal pathway to a home you can actually pay off and move when you have to. You give owners a bit of money and you occupy a spot that is basically a parking area before. Excellent use of in fill space. ❤
I'm sorry you got sick😢. Having it built at least gave you a home to pay off🎉. Your builder did you well👍. You decor is homey😍. Thanks Jenna,😊! JO JO IN VT 💞☃️
Truly serene and well planned out tiny! Feels very spacious. Luv the various blues used. I built a ‘trellis’ for under my full size hybrid loft mattress out of 1/2”x3/4” pine. I have the longer boards running head to toe then shorter on top side to side. That way the air from an open window at the foot can run under. I also have an auto-immune disease that convinced me to go tiny. In July it will be 5yrs living with Lyme and 2 strains of Bartonella. Blessings to you! I’m less than a yr living tiny. 🏡☮️💟
Im glad you made a tub fit even if smaller and you have a shower. ❤ Not one for walk in shower with all that glass (have to clean often). I always imagine if i was in shower and someone had to use toilet and there is no privacy, i would still hang a curtain on the inside to pull in those situations. Just add a shower bar.
I love your Tiny House Jon. Congrats on it. So glad you have a convenient rental spot for it - well deserved. So sorry to hear about your autoimmune diagnosis. (You probably know that gluten free, even grain-free and sugar free is advised. I have a slight thyroid issue. Reducing stress has been good. Also 'unpacking' (with the help of a good counsellor if you are inclined)any and all stressfully periods in one's life has been very helpful for me. Very best regards, Jon. Blessings yo you. G Ire
This is a beautiful home. I would definitely think about getting a railing for that staircase but that's because I'm a klutz LOL Maybe one of those clear acrylic ones so you don't feel to hemmed in? IN any case, I love what you've done with the place. You obviously thought it through really well.
Beautiful home. I can see why you feel good when you walk into your space. I particularly love the exterior and your shower tiles and the beams were definitely worth it. It’s upsetting to hear that getting diagnosed with an autoimmune disease had a bad financial impact though I think it’s unfortunately pretty common. Since you seem very motivated to take control of your health I’ll share that fluctuations in my blood glucose levels cause flare-ups in me. I didn’t realize the correlation until I put a continuous glucose monitor on. Symptoms which seemed totally unrelated to blood sugar subsided once I changed my diet. I pay very close attention to the glycemic index of everything I put in my mouth. None of the many doctors I’ve gone to ever suggested trying to regulate my blood sugar. I hope I’m not being overly intrusive but your comments about your diagnosis really resonated with me.
I suggest a pull down screen and projector for TV. There are plenty of moisture protection underlayments for a mattress that are thin... look to ones used in a van. I wouldn't take a chance. I like your general aesthetic. The space looks comfortable and well thought out.
People with boats use a plastic web that allows air circulation under their mattresses. Try bc Fisheries Supply in Seattle (maybe there’s one in Tacoma too)
@7:30 - Re: TV mount - Televator! You need a televator. They come in smaller dimension RV sizes that will suit your tiny home well. Lots of folks build custom cabinetry or shelf storage around them. Congrats again on your great home! We enjoyed your tour video. Thanks for the inspiration! :)
Really fantastic build. I'd maybe have dropped the celing in the kitchen, bathroom to give another 6 inches head height upstairs? Love the lay out and decor though ❤
A solution for your TV...I just bought this today from amazon. It's called Perlegear Mobile TV Cart, Rolling TV Stand for 13-50 inch TVs with 30° Tilt. It may work for your needs and it was only $39.99
Their is something you can do for your TV. You can use that mechanical bar that’s used for TVs inside a unit and remotely you raise the TV when in use.
There should be an articulating arm that does that somewhere, or even a tv lift that people use in their cabinets or lofts. Not sure where those are since that's not my wheelhouse (I use standard desk mounted arms), but I have seen them in other tiny spaces! I'd personally mount it (or a computer screen) where the scroll/calendar is so it could play double duty, tv for entertainment and then a 2nd monitor for work (while also being a better ergonomic height). You could also find one that would let you turn it portrait mode to save space too. Just my opinion. Hope you do find one!
Beautiful home. Love the medicine cabinet in the bathroom! I also want a bidet but will need an outlet for warm water. Hoping to buy a tiny house one day but not many places to park them in Northern California.
Lovely home. I hope you find a reticulated arm system for the tv mount. Or a projector screen on the large window in the lounge would work also. Roll it up when not in use. You say you would've liked to have plates on the shelf above the oven. You could get a shelf that is longer than the one with the fruit basket and books on it. Or just add another one beside it. That would allow your plates to fit and be accessible height wise. Then a lot of the items on the top shelf could go where your plates are now. Allowing more of a decluttered and functional space. And for someone like me that also doesn't like visual clutter I'm surprised you don't have doors on the storage under the stairs. You could've gone with a stackable washer dryer system. To get away from so much time washing your sheets 😆 If you use storage containers all the same colour above the couch to put your items into it won't look so cluttered either. Just a couple of tips for storage to be minimised in a small space. Nice to see the medicine cabinet behind the door and the towel rail on the door also. Utilising all the vertical space in the bathroom. If you can buy some slats for under the bed or steppers you'll only add about one to two inches of height to your mattress but it'll allow air flow under it so you won't get mould. I like the plants above the couch on the shelves. Nice home and it looks cosy 🙏😊
Hello, have you seen the film you can put right on the glass, you put it on like wall paper, but you use water not glue, you can see out but no one can see in. You have a very beautiful home.❤️🇨🇦
What a cool chill guy. Love the life he has created even with his autoimmune. I have autoimmune issue to. Wish I had built a tiny home before I got sick, but it was 20 years ago so just didn't work out. Happy for him though. Really great he can cook his own food there. So important. I hope you can get a dog or pet, fun!
Find a piece of furniture, or make one, that hides the TV and has an elevator that will raise it out of the furniture when you want to watch it, and hides it when you aren't. You already have the TV on the floor and you can customize it for your TV. I have seen these work and know someone who made this type of unit out of an old piece of furniture.
Love your ideas and taste with the home …. I have a friend who has a tiny home ….. and his fix for the television was a drop down screen with a projector …… mostly for him to watch his sports on and Netflix . Great for saving space on walls and countertops . They also don’t use a lot of power and can be run on electric solar generators . For when there is power outages . You may want to consider something like this ….. projectors and screens come in all sizes and can be hidden away when not in use is desired . Thanks for a great video . I love the idea of a tiny home if I ever decide to move back to the states . But always worry about where to put one and the costs of living in a community . I’ve seen a few where they started inexpensively and then skyrocketed from community organization costs . I’d hate to place one somewhere and then have the inconvenience of moving down to high costs in the future . I’m curious if anyone has run across these issues . Anyway . Thanks again .
Wow, imagine having your savings swallowed up by medical bills. It's good to see a tiny home in an urban setting and well done to Tacoma for relaxing the zoning laws to allow this. I feel that the space is too small and compromised. Who knows what Jon might have been able to build if hadn't got sick.
A very nice Tiny Home you've created. Well done! For your TV why not have a cabinet with motor build in which sits the TV and with a remote the top opens up and the TV ascends!. You see them in hotels. Good luck and take care!
Great tour! Suggestion for your tv- how about a simple H-framed easel maybe with a proper support to set the tv on would probably look cool! I will be checking into the builder! Best to you! Nana in WA 😊
Maybe you can put the tv next to the oven, removing that shelf and ading a bracket. Then you can hang your japanese picture to the above shelf, in front of the tv whenever youre not watching it
They're finding a correlation between auto immune disease and C-PTSD, aka, complex or childhood PTSD. It's not widely known, at least I don't think, that extremely stressful events make your AID flare up intensely. I found this info by watching, and this is her real go by channel name: The Crappy Childhood Fairy. Her channel helped me understand a lot, like dysregulation when you get so angry you feel drunk, she has helped a lot of people. I'm not affiliated with her, don't know her, nor do I gain anything by mentioning her, other than knowing that maybe I helped another person. I'm just a hermit trying to help.

Good points!
Well said!
And like he said, it allows him to be able to afford living in an area where the jobs are. Extremely important!
My electric is over $300 in my home. He is definitely getting a bargain! I agree!
@@ShawnLawson414I have one internationally and run on 90 percent Solar and 10 percent propane generator .

Such a beautiful home. For such a small footprint, it comes off very spacious. It is a very well thought-out design!

Yes wall side.... use same color of wall color
Beautiful, well designed home. Love the teal cabinets. Stay well. ❤

This place is beautiful inside and out! And that Jon ain’t too bad himself 💚
He seems so sweet 🥰
Really love this little gem. Sometimes, I’d like to sell my bungalow and get a tiny home!
I suggest a pull down screen and projector for TV. There are plenty of moisture protection underlayments for a mattress that are thin... look to ones used in a van. I wouldn't take a chance. I like your general aesthetic. The space looks comfortable and well thought out.
Nice house! Running a fan or even better a dehumidifier keeps moisture away.
Ck into what van nomads do re mattess: there are "spacer pads" (?) that allow air movement beneath the mattress & prevent mold & mildew issues.
@debkincaid2891 it's called hypervent
He could put down some wood slats and move them periodically. Although it doesn't look like there's much room to add more height to the bed.
In wet environment like Washington you need that, or
Love the bath tile. ❤
Sorry to hear about your autoimmune. Hubby was diagnosed with Crohns 7 yrs ago. Hes on humira and its worked so well!
Beautiful tiny home!!
I was diagnosed with Crohn's on 2004, lost a lot of my organs. I'm in remission for now.
Im so sorry to hear that ❤ i hope u stay in remission for many years!

Love the color of kitchen cabinets, and that counter is gorgeous, farm sink, special lighting!
Love the cedar, blue is nice too.
Thanks!!
Haha… smart escape system! Lol
Would make for a great Mr. Bean skit! 😂😂😂😂
Really fantastic build. I'd maybe have dropped the celing in the kitchen, bathroom to give another 6 inches head height upstairs? Love the lay out and decor though ❤
Love the windows and shades!
For your tv: Ikea has a shoe cabinet that's slim and wouln't be too deep for the room. You'd also have some more stash capacity in the compartments.

Just like in an RV, get a televator. It won't extend into the room very far, and you can drop the TV down when you're not using it.
Very nice house. Thank you for the tour. ❤
This is the most efficient use of space I have ever seen. Bravo 👏
Check with an RV cabinets for your television. They are smaller and look nice too plus they lift up. Good luck!
Hello from Scotland. It looks great John, well done.

🏡✨ That's a smart move! 💰👏 Love the efficient use of space and minimalistic lifestyle.
Beautiful Tiny home.
Great closet andxstorage!
I love his tiny house and the $750 a month is great!
I love our Tiny House! Amazing 😍
I found an articulated arm for my TV. It's made for an RV or Boat. It can literally be mounted at any angle and then there's three pivot points/arms.
Will you link it please???
I'm sure I've seen a few different ways of mounting a tv on the design channel here on youtube called HPDesign. G Ire
Saving $1K a month is huge. That’ll add up quickly.
Hello, have you seen the film you can put right on the glass, you put it on like wall paper, but you use water not glue, you can see out but no one can see in. You have a very beautiful home.❤️🇨🇦
I like the stripes on blanket.
I really like this, well planned out home😊
This is needed in Canada. Ontario for my son and I. We need housing.
Your home is so nice ! Love it , how about an adjustable rolling tv stand ?
I've just learned about those in the comments here. Thanks!
Vent your washer dryer you will find it is more efficient
also keep mold out of the tiny house so important. I would add a whole house fan thingy in the bathroom for humidty etc if he doesnt have one already.

Thank you. I would still build this same house if I had millions. Well... maybe two feet longer ;)
You have thought of everything! Awesome! Love your style!
For the tv maybe a sliding panel, like a sliding door that slides up over the window from the floor, locks in place and has a tv bracket on it.
Love the beams!
Nice looking little home
Do you a link for the stone drying tiles that your drying dishes or pans on?? Interested. Home looks great.

I wouldn't be able to climb stairs , prefer a downstairs bedroom, just beautiful place.
Great setup.
I hit the like when I saw the front door.
They make something for stand mixers that work for your television. It lifts the mixer from lower areas
Great tour! Suggestion for your tv- how about a simple H-framed easel maybe with a proper support to set the tv on would probably look cool! I will be checking into the builder! Best to you!
Nana in WA 😊
love that kitchen
Nice glass tile.
I really liked seeing good original art on the walls.
Fantastic tiny home❤
Good for you Jon! Lovely home!
Very nice and neat tiny home. Thank you for sharing.
Wow what an amazing home! Well thought out and visually appealing. ❤
a Motorized TV Stand , Vertical Lift Stand with Remote Control, work great for that TV

nice place and priced nice. maybe shift your bed to the left so you have more head room across the bed
I would like more info on how to do this. I’m in Washington, too and have not found zoning and land that allows this kind of housing.
Nice house
Nice tiny house
I'm not going to even hold you, I thought this was a clip from Frank and Gracie. I thought you were the son😂😂😂
I love this home
Love it. ❤
Use a Lugoon table for the tv. Just swing it out of the way against the wall when not watching.
Lovely house….❤
Yes ...there is a elevator cabinet for the TV .... or maybe you could have one made ....
Your builder is great
If you want safer stairs the thing is people are accustomed to a 1 1/4 inch overhang of the riser by the tread. So that can be changed.
Thanks👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
