I have the 986 which is basicly the same gun only in 9mm. Now that is a FUN gun to shoot. I shoot it more than any of my semi autos, and its accurate as all hell!!!
I purchased mine and after first rounds, I reloaded, and went to open cylinder and cylinder latch stuck with gun loaded. Been reading about problem. First will need to go to desert and MT the cylinder the old fashioned way. Second is unscrewing cylinder latch and using mallet tool to strike side of cylinder to see if it releases after it's unscrewed. I should have MTd cylinder at range but didn't understand problem until I took it home to digest problem. Mine is the performance center sñub nose 8 shot. Kudo's for Smith and Wesson making a 357 with 0 recoil on a 357 mag load. Shoots like a 22
Just got this about a week ago now. Took it to the range and went through about half a box of 38sp. Switched to 357 mag and after three shots the front sight went flying. They sent me another sight but it slides right through it has to go back.
They must have cut the dove tail too large. I have the same gun and love it. Never had an issue but wish there was options for a different front sight like a Big Dot. I'd be interested in the end result after coming back from the Smith factory.
I bought the same exact one about a month ago and it had some issues with it. Finish was really bad on the barrel flats and the crown had a pretty bad ding in it. Brand new….i sent it back and still haven’t heard any update. I’ve actually had to send back just about every smith and Wesson I’ve bought in recent years. Their quality control is absolute crap nowadays.
I got my 686 competitor and the finish quality was horrible it looks used, don’t know if it came from factor or shop shot it. It took 3 month with a new barrel and finish. The trigger is still not “performance” to me. Nice snubby.
When did you get this? Are they still in production? Can you order one? Did you order this one and if so how long until it came in? I’ve had my eye on this one for a while but cannot find one. Thanks in advance!
Have one of these and really like it....biggest issue I am having is finding a nice holster for it usually prefer leather for a nice gun like that. Had any luck in that area? Good unboxing....
Eagle “secret service” grips, like the ones that come on the 627PC, would make this revolver look so much better. The grips that come on this are just too disproportionate. They’d go better with a 4 inch (or more) barrel. 3 inch’s and under need a boot type grip.
For some reason I like target/roper style on a snubnose, I’m not sure why but I kinda like the un-balanced look with a full grip on a snubnose. Extended boot grips are a perfect mid point.
It was a review. I reviewed the features of the revolver. The lock is a feature of the revolver. I gave my opinion. Should I not talk about the trigger too, since everyone talks about triggers?
@@beardedgunguy7251my lock is jammed up and cylinder latch will not move. Everything else works, hammer trigger safety lock, cylinder latch jammed and cylinder won't open up

This is also a beautiful revolver pistol. It is rare to load 7 shots.good!

Beautiful second thought 627 they say is to heavy and little more bigger. But i see that that 686 is good enough fire power after all is magnum
Thanks for posting that is a great gun! I also really like the grips. I need to check one of those out for mtself.
Great video. This will be my next firearm
I have the 686plus talo edition 3in two years old 👍🏿sweet 🎯👍🏿

Great one, love to have one.
Ahhhhh yea, the "Click, Click, Boom"!
I'm surprised that it doesn't have a smooth faced trigger. Is it available without finger grooves?
The trigger is smooth. The grips have finger grooves.
Thanks for Sharing video!
How have you enjoyed carrying it?
Im debating between this and a 627 for cc

I got it in early June 2021. They are still in production. I ordered it through Sportsman’s Warehouse, 2 weeks.

I ended up making my own.
@@beardedgunguy7251 Nice to have those skills. Thanks, sir!
Try simply rugged. They are great.
I have the 3 inch non performance center model.
Plus Deluxe?
How’s the recoil with .357 ? Wood grips painful?
I wouldn’t say painful. Definitely snappy.
I got the same and it feels great . Recoil is pretty tame but I’m comfortable with 357 mag.
I wish my 627-5 came with those grips.
Check out Altamont grips. They are the supplier of these grips and have them for the N round grip frames. It is called the “NU.”
impeccable
Great looking revolver…FYI the blemish didn’t get missed, S&W just choose to overlook it! IMO…

Grip❤❤❤😌😌
Awesome pistol.
Stippling not stripling
Speaking into the 🎤 mic would be helpful
I do not like the cheap bead blast Taurus/budget gun finish.
Good.very.good.
986
I like it more than you so give it to me 😳🤣✌
Can't here him
Smith and Wesson's quality control is dog shit.
you guys are like a parrot or something always complaining about the lock... get over it.
