  • Me and the boys are exploring a new to us lake up in New Jersey. We have been putting the Sun Dolphin through its paces and it’s doing well. We were joined by my wife and her sister in their kayaks. Very hot but fun day!

In central Florida there are thousands of small sinkhole lakes, many with limited access. The only way to fish them is a small boat or canoe. This is just what you need.

We have lots of family down there. Planning on bringing it down later this year!

Hows the stability outta that thing man? Casting my fly rod, double hauls and long cast dumps are a must around here. Thoughts?

Stability is very good for a small plastic boat. I’ve had this boat out fishing Reds in the bay in Pensacola, no trouble double hauling with an 8wt. That being said it’s definitely not the boat to have out on a windy day due to the low sides it will take on some water. But it is very stable for such a small boat. We’ve even landed 35-40 inch musky throwing large gamechangers on 10wts in this little boat. Hope to get some videos of musky fishing in it this spring

We love it, way easier to take out than my larger skiff and I won’t hesitate to take it in some nasty backwater holes. I’ve driven thousands of miles with that thing in the bed of the truck!

could you compare the trolling motor to the hangkai. I loved the no noise of electric compared to gas motor. do you think you could put some type of cover over the gas motor do think its not needed. can you carry on a normal conversation with the gas? Thank you

The Hangkai is honestly not too loud. We are able to talk with our voices slightly raised. However if you were to bump up to a 55 to 60lb thrust trolling motor you would probably have performance pretty close to the hangkai. The gas motor is not very fast 4-6mph at best. The biggest benefit to the gas motor is the extended range from the gas engine vs a battery. We typically travel long river miles so the hangkai with an extra 2 gallons goes a long way

It’s a knock off of the one SeaDek makes. Got it on Amazon. Just search for SeaDek fish ruler
