- Once you've master the chain, learn to join the ends together so you can start working in the round!
Just me showing you my method for joining in York/Coppergate stitch into the round. Perfect way to start hats, mittens and SOCKS! Everyone needs socks to get them through those cold events!

I've just made my first chain with the first video last night, and today I will attempt to join them together and keep growing it! The thumb method does work better for me but I'm so glad there are options, and changing the colour of the yarn was super helpful, thanks!
MY GOD, I DID IT. Getting my thumb out of the way was what I needed -- I can SEE what I'm doing now! I went from swearing and throwing knotted scraps of yarn out to good-lord-and-butter I'm doing it.
Yay! Congrats, and happy stitching!
I'm just starting to learn nalbinding and I'm so glad I found your tutorials on the York stitch! I was learning the Oslo stitch first but it was too confusing for me, so I looked for other tutorials. The York stitch is proving much easier and I'm actually enjoying it instead of becoming frustrated.
I'm very glad you're finding them useful !
Ahh! Mine curled, so nice to see that is normal. Ready for this. I appreciate changing the color for us. That really helps.
The curling just happens with some stitches, totally normal! Glad you're finding it helpful 😊
I thought I would take some time to let you know that I enjoy your tutorials. Your directions are clear to me. I like how you show your work clearly and every step. I have tried to follow others and end up coming back to yours everytime.
Why thank you! It's really lovely to know you've been able to benefit from them 😊
I think I’ve finally got it! Thanks for your clear explanations and illustrations!
I'm glad you found it useful! ☺
Great tutorial, thank you so much! Subscribed right away :-)
I recently purchased the book: Knitting Around the World by Lela Nargi. The first page of the Introduction talked about nalbinding so I looked up your videos. Thank you for explaining it clearly. I’ve crocheted since 1974 and knitted since 2011. I’ve never seen a needle like you use. I have a wide-eyed yarn tapestry needle but it is too flexible to try this method.
Welcome! I'm so happy you're here.
I hope you'll give nalbinding a try when you find a needle that feels comfortable 😊
You make it look so easy! I will give it a try,
Go for it!
Very helpful and easy to understand. Thank you!
Shushonet I'm glad it helps! Thanks for your comment!
I think this method is easier for the left handed people. Making it simpler is good for us beginners...
As long as someone gets some benefit from it, I'll be glad I made the video :)
Fascinating, thank you.
You're welcome!
Ylva! Thank you for your video tutorials! I have mastered the off the thumb chain you show above, and am wondering how that chain in york stitch can be turned and worked flat in the subsequent rows rather than joining and working in the round??? Tutorial?!
Working flat is a tutorial I have planned for the future, however I am currently taking a break from producing videos, due to real life personal circumstances. I'll get back to it as soon as I can!
I really can't see what you're doing here. I was with you for the chaining, but here I can't even see which way up you're joining it together.
Fear not! I am aware of the faults in this video and an in the process right now of editing the remake! Due for release next week! :)
@@YlvaTheRed cool. I just made three mobius strips sooo...
