one of just a few songs in my 65 plus years that i go back to ,just to feel it all over again, and unlike most of life-im never disappointed- be back soon til i can never come back.
@@tammyblalock3694 Well fine i guess... 3 weeks ago a Dr. recommended heart catheterization... . his last words were ... you do want to hear counting blue cars again right? Got the operation, and im back!
The song reminds me of two young kids having a conversation while walking to Sunday service. 3:03 - Noisy shoes in this place - they’re inside the church at this point!
My childhood right here. Sent a chill down my spine when the chorus hits. Specially at the end. Am I very far now am I very far now. Am I very far now ... tell me all your thoughts on God...
Absolutely love this tune...finally found out who performs it. To me it's kind of spiritual because I've lost so many loved ones and now live with 3rd stage metastatic ovarian cancer. Loving EVERY day at a time. THANK YOU Dishwalla for this very meaningful song!❤
Sara Wilds This is going to sound crazy, but I just discovered this song within the last month or so, and today ( 2/5/22 ) I found out who sings it. The even weirder part is that I am a 76 year old father/grandfather/great grandfather! I love music from most eras ( big on the 70s of course ), but there were quite a few groups in the 90s that caught my ear as well. Believe it or not I totally missed Dishwalla and this song back then, but I kept hearing it on alternative radio ( DC 101.1 ), and thought it must be relatively new. I hope your treatment is going well. Seven years ago I was diagnosed with jaw cancer, and had a 12 hour surgery to replace it using a bone from my leg. I didn't need chemo, but had 34 radiation treatments on my lower left jaw to make sure there were no 'lingering' cancer cells in the deep tissues. That was the worst part of the whole treatment. Anyway, I am a survivor ( so far ), and I wish the best for you.
@@jaycorby thanks for the well wishes dear. I'm a 62 yr. old grandmother and still dance to my music at home that is... 😉 nice to know there are quite a few old rockers like myself. Dishwalla's "Counting Blue Cars" has a special meaning for me because of the lyrics about children going to God. My son died tragically at 11 years old on a 3 wheeler. I wasn't with him at the time cuz I would have made him wear a helmet. Anyways before he died he kept asking me questions about God and heaven and angels. They say children have premonitions about their deaths! I've read this and have heard of it many times. So the song makes me cry in a good/bad way. I'm an intuitive Empath and know these things are TRUE. Onto the Big C ... So happy it didn't come back. You're quite the warrior too! How painful it must have been. I actually have some brain damage from all the chemo I had. They call it "foggy brain". It mostly effected my memory unfortunately. I'm on some medicine to keep the cancer at bay that costs $3,000 a month. It has some very uncomfortable side effects that are painful. But I'm a stubborn bitch and I'm gonna fight as long as possible!!! 😆 lol Please stay safe and well and may God Bless you Jay 🌹🎸 Nice to text with you. 🌷🌺🌻💐🌾🌴🌸
@@sarawilds450 You're the real deal, Sara. I can tell that by how you write - seems you have some education into the bargain. I've come to the conclusion about all this pain, suffering and loss that touches everyone's life sooner or later: you either embrace it and go on the best you can a day at a time, or you fold like a cheap suitcase. No one ever told me life was going to be a cake walk, but I'm happy to say that tenacity pays off, and that acceptance is the answer to all my problems. As my Irish gran used to say: " It's a long road without a turning. "
A beautiful take by Dishwalla's Justin Fox on one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands of all-time. JR Richard's would approve. I can't believe I fell in love with this song 20 years ago & still going strong. Dishwalla for life!
This just made my day. So happy the band is playing and recording again, now a lyric video for CBC, with such a beautiful art! And Justin's voice giving it a fresh new feeling, I can't wait for Juniper Road! (can't forget the meme: Please come to Brazil!)
Very good, very good the new sound of DISHWALLA even if it is an old song, is of the best. The band sounds incredible, the voice and the music. As so many I hope for the new Juniper Road album, I'm very happy when I knew it, because this band is one of my favorites. Greetings from Havana Cuba.
This blew my socks off when I first heard it: my son was in college at ucsb, my alma mater. Now I’m a young old woman, and I still love it. The music ministry at our church performed it recently, I had to sing along. Than you!
Wow Anne, that’s sobering! The worship pastor at the Assemblies of God where I went said, “Christian artists” only. Man, talk about throwing a dart and missing the board by a mile! So much good ‘Christian’ content right in front of us, on the Billboard charts!
I worship this song... Godly and just make sense.. As i think simple, no worries just enjoy listeing, understands.. or counting blue cars on road open highways!..thank you JR and the rest band Dishwalla! :D
Sometimes a song can get stuck in your head and it can be so annoying. I'm going on the third day of Counting Blue Cars playing on a loop in my head and I'm in no hurry for it to stop.
I really dig the raw vocals really cool track makes it like a new song although there was nothing wrong with the old one this one seems more rock and roll just with the simple change of vocals and the guitar sounds different as well I dig it
1 Peter 1: 1 “You are not forgotten, for you have been chosen and destined by Father God. The Holy Spirit has set you apart to be God's holy ones, obedient followers of Jesus Christ who have been gloriously sprinkled with his blood. May God's delightful grace and peace cascade over you many times over!” … Amen 🙏🏼
Dishwalla is one my Favorite bands all time but man this new version Counting blue cars sound great I really like this version but I know that this song was actually JR Richards song that he wrote.
That's kinda the whole point of the song, though. It's provocative and presents a challenge to religion. Because you can't actually know if god is male or female, or if god even exists for that matter. The speaker in the story supposes that God is female. And the point is that that supposition is as good as any other.

Kind of perfect. The lyrics. They sound like they’re saying
“go to rehab” before it’s too late.
Dishwalla is one my Favorite bands all time but man this new version Counting blue cars sound great I really like this version but I know that this song was actually JR Richards song that he wrote.
i wouldn't be to sure about that.

Where's the dishwala guy at
MAGIC 98.73
It's ok.
Definitely enjoy the deeper vocals of the original singer J.R. Richards much more. J.R. has a more versatile vocal range with more emotion.
