Why does this song make me cry? It has so many memories locked in.❤
Right here with you.
I feel that.
One of the most underappreciated bands.
That’s your opinion
@@Hoboscouts yep
And Collective Soul, Incubus too...
Collective Soul is the f*ckin sh*t!!!!
excellent singer and rendition
Dishwalla was one of my all-time favorite live sets. I'd seen them in a music festival in Oahu about 25 years ago. Their performance was amazing, much credit to the sound crew. The band sounded so crisp, heavy, and utterly hypnotic. As if the music was passing through my body and transcending my soul. I'll never forget that is exactly when I became a fan
It's 2024 and I'm still listening to all of these songs...Remembering how my big brother blasted these songs during his highschool days (my elementary days)🥰💝💐
Damn! These guys are amazing. Their voices are clear and playing is tight. Well done!
What a perfect performance! Love you guys!
It's tough when the original singer leaves.....You Nailed it.
Why did he leave?
@@Daniel-415-Ponce yeah why
@@Daniel-415-Ponce Dishwalla split in 2005 after releasing their fourth album. The band re-formed in 2008, but without JR, who moved to England, where there is better treatment for his son. He's had a lot of success with PledgeMusic, and is using his fan community to fund his next album
When you come across a beautiful thing. Stop. pay attention. This is that. Chills!
Dishwalla never gets old
I’m almost thirty-one years old; I’ll never forget my dad blasting this in the car with my younger sister and I. It was one of the songs that was part of our “soundtrack” in the late nineties and the early years of the new millennium.
Ahora Esa canción es de esas fotos musicales que aparecen en tu mente cuando te acuerdas de tu papá y tu hermana. Que recuerdaso no? 🤟🎶
Great memory and great song
I turned 35 this year and remember quiet vividly the same.
Same. My dad’s been gone since 2020. I’ll never not think of him when I hear this song. I’m going to ask God one day why he too him from me.
Really not respectful to play music so loud it’s blasting to all your neighbors. Not cool.
Love Dishwalla!!!! WOW! Played this my birthday week!🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏
GREAT Sounds' God Job guys......miss those 90's sounds.......just beautiful. you guys look health, in sync, vibing it out in the studio. just beautiful.....
This song is one of many that takes me back to riding around in the 90s. I still put it on when the day is nice with the windows down. Also like to play it when we get together with our friends for a bonfire & drinks
I love this song...
awesome job guys!!!!
I'm 58 years old and this is just as FUCKING AWESOME as a he first day I heard it😎😎😎
I’m 72 years old and I couldn’t agree with you more
Would be even better with the original singer. Just sayin'!
An absolute gem, maybe the best one hit wonder. Hope the boys are doing great yet.
Dishwalla aint a one hit wonder lol.
@@Riri-oj1zs hey , no offense intended, I'll take your advice and listen to them beyond.
@@Riri-oj1zs This is literally their only song to hit number 1 (and only on the US alt charts) and their only single to be RIAA certified (Gold and Digital Gold in this case). So yes, literally a 1 hit wonder. But measuring a band by popularity alone isn't a great measure. So while it can be a compliment to talk about all the hits a band made, it's never the full story, and it should never be an insult that a band had few or no hits. Some of my favorite musicians are zero hit wonders.
your comment is a one hit mistake. 😂
Nobody can replace JR RICHARDS! Very nice voice the original vocalist.
He's still out there performing Dish classics. Go watch there mate.
J.R. performs an awesome solo piano/vocal cover of this song as well.
I knew something wasn't right...
Justin doesn't have the tone and depth of feeling as a vocalist as J.R. does. But I think he does well with his own interpretation of a Dish classic.
Thank you for your comments... I'm new to this song and thought this was the original singer. The song is beautiful. Thanks sir, God bless †

they usually never Do....fact!
@@KevinTatum88 - Very true.
The "acoustic version" of a pop rock song is usually trash. This is super well done. It's like another actual version of the song.
Amazing
They are still good 20 years after their original music video!
Must've been mid afternoon
I could tell by how far the child's shadow stretched out and
He walked with a purpose
In his sneakers, down the street
He had many questions
Like children often do
He said:
Tell me all your thoughts on God
Tell me am I very far
Must've been late afternoon
On our way the sun broke free of the clouds
We count only blue cars
Skip the cracks in the street
And ask many questions
Like children often do
We said:
Tell me all your thoughts on God
'Cause I'd really like to meet her
And ask her why we're who we are
Tell me all your thoughts on God
'Cause I'm on my way to see her
So tell me am I very far,
Am I very far now?
It's getting cold, picked up the pace!
How our shoes make hard noises in this place!
Our clothes are stained
We pass many cross-eyed people
And ask many questions
Like children often do
Tell me all your thoughts on God
'Cause I'd really like to meet her
And ask her why we're who we are
Tell me all your thoughts on God
'Cause I'm on my way to see her
So tell me, am I very far?
We're not very far now
We're not very far now

Can't compare apples and oranges. Love the original but equally love this, too! ❤❤❤
By far the song and band made to do this awesome unplugged version of an already iconic song
nicely done
This is everything I remember and more!!!
This song is a masterpiece yo
Great version. If had the original singer it would have been out of the park.
Justin hits it out of the park as well.
@@Radiodaze1073 Very nice indeed. Just short of a grand slam.
This guy knocked it out the park
KSCA 101.9 FM Live from the Music Hall Vol 3 is where you’ll hear the very best acoustic version of this song and done by JR.
@@DonJamesAllAroundTown Ugh. I can't find it. Any tips. I'll keep looking. Thank you
Does anyone know how he gets that acoustic to be such a beast?
They didn't even need a base player - the low e string was rumbling the whole studio. It sounded a lot like open tuning. But then maybe a fat pick and heavy stings. I'm learning this song now. Even guesses would be great. thanks
The dude playing the Maudio controller keyboard is actually playing bass with his left hand.
cant listen to this one without the original singer ... it doesnt have that magic
they sound amazing, luv this version so much more emotion !
Sorry but....lacks the knife that stabs my music heart
Nice way to put it.... Thank you sir.... . :)
Great version of a fantastic song. Nice job guys!
Wheres JR?
What a Gift 👏👏👏 and no
"She's" not far away at all...

Very nice performance 👍👍👍
So cool they got Donal Logue to sit in on guitar
Love this song!!!! Oh, do I love this song!!! Nice area rug. Looks like flowers .
Omg how very awesome 😮😊🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Amazing song...listen to it every time I feel a little down
Might as well just call themselves a different band name. They could've just gotten someone with some sort of resemblance to the baritone like smooth JR voice. Journey was able to find someone who could sing their original hits
Nep Cab Oh come on!!! Cheer up pal! Their new singer sounds great. But most definitely JR will be missed in the future of this band.
And may I add that Alice in Chains found someone with a voice similar to Layne and the Stone Temple Pilots found someone that in my honest opinion, sounds better than Scott Weiland.

We all miss JR with this band right? In all honesty I think Justin has done a great job in picking up where JR left off and carrying this band forward. To me I feel like Justin has a very similar voice to JR, which I personally appreciate. I hope Dishwalla continues to make songs in 2024 and beyond with Justin or JR. Maybe they can link up together at some point. When I hear Dishwalla with a new singer, I think of William Duvall replacing Layne Staley with Alice In Chains and being blown away at how similar William sounds to Layne. Just goes to show you, sometimes out with the old in with the new is necessary, whatever the circumstance may be.
Miss the voice of the original vocalist. But this new guys good too. I was never a fan of much music that came out in the mid to late 90s. But like Alito of it for the nostalgia factor. I started to take up photography around 96' and these songs take me back to that era and I love it. I appreciate the late 90s music now.
He does it good, not as. The original but he nailed it. Kudos to the group and new vocals. Long live bros... 🤘🤟👌
Without JR.... Sorry.... No
H P I feel your pain. It was hard for me too not seeing JR.
He's also good, but without JR, It seems I'm not listening to Dishwalla.
Rip JR
Great to see that the drummer is playing the well known "Cajón" original from Perú 🙌
Wow!!!! I always loved this song. No clue how talented.
Just pure GOLD.....
Why is the original lead singer separated from the band? What's the deal?
JR Richards left the band around 2008 to work on his solo career as an independent artist and producer. He released his first solo album A Beautiful End in 2009 which is my personal favourite of all JR's solo releases.
i like it.... big fan of the song.... still to this day...
TMI Baby ! :)
A measly 139k views??? Kept squinting thinking my eyes are deceiving me! What has this world come in to? 🙄
More power 4 the old vocalist & feel it inside my soul^ but move on memories is history Fmradio play originals version^ 🤘
Stunning!
Underrated song
Without JR dishwalla doesn't sound the same. The new singer isn't even close.
This singer is really really good... but I saw them with J.R. Richards back in the 90's... he was untouchable live.
Saw these guys live that same year! Made my whole summer.
Dude friggin nailed it. Quit hating.
Wait, why isn't the lead singer singing the song? I'm confused.
Wow.. you guys still sounds amazing.. 👏👏👏
Derek Shepherd vocal ^^
what the living FUXK?? Where's JR???
Doctor X unplugged cause X marks the spot ot ot ot
Mr. Reynolds. I listen to . From Dishwalla!!
Not the same without JR on vocals
Sounds great with my B&Ws!
ofcourse the new singer is a whisper gay singer
Not JR Richards and it's obvious
Not dishwalla without JR.......
I mean no disrespect to the original vocalist, but this guys voice is incredible. Made for this song. Outstanding performance gentlemen.
I like Justin better, he's down to earth and intelligent...I love his simplicity and patience to critics who can't get away from the shadow of JRichards ,move on guys, this man deserves to be appreciated...✌❤
This isn't even fucking dishwalla
Closer to 2027 than 2017 guys 🥴😬
And…..it is most beautiful…!!!!
does the keyboardist doing the bass?
this song sounds goood con cajon peruano !!!great version!!!!
Without J.R. Richards, this is no Dishwalla :/
Nice to see you've moved on.
Excellent!!
I remember when this song came out. A great feeling of renewal shot through me while revisiting those memories as this song just played.
I saw these guys in Miami University in Ohio.
They were better than the Gin Blossums.
It is amazing what you think about while listening to this song and drinking Vesper Martinis.
Like Lou Gramm, JR a tough act to follow.
This is good. Like Mike and the mechanics meets Dishwalla!!
Need J. R. RICHARDS singing
All good, song's from diswalla band
Where is this same song to download ? Live in concert. All acoustic. Almost black and white looking video. Appeared on UA-cam way back. Wish I hadn't deleted it way back. Post a link to it please, someone. It's not any seen here down the list.
ese no es ni de lejos del vocal que me enamore, que paso aca ?
God has told us what he thinks
.....who’s that guy?
Have always loved this song … I’m a teen of the 70s … young adult during 80s metal, glam, and new wave … and appreciated alt rock, grunge, and good 90s rock like Stone Temple Pilots, Dishwalla, etc … Hope rock makes a comeback, as it’s been sparse in the 21st century so far 😔
One of so many great bands listening to as a kid, could swear I was on every time we were in the boat, or at the beach. Being in the bar a lot too, bowling alley.. it was everywhere. So many great memories attached to this song.
Same lead singer?
We are always watching here in the Philippines mangagoy pet alob
Is that the same lead singer, doesn't sound the same
So awesomel!. Just made my day listening to this. Thank you
Is this a different singer? Definitely sounds like it!
Where's JR Richards?
This is my favorite version of the song, and also would be the perfect song for a funeral in a tv show or a movie
