    small flat screwdriver
    hammer
    square piece of metal/wood
wardrobes frames fastener (from Ikea) + philips screwdriver or any M4 female plug with whatever
remove coffee lid, water tank and front recipient
    remove top left torx screw
    go to the back
pry off the metal jura logo, there's a security screw
take the fastener and bang on it/use plyers until it fits the security screw
    unscrew the security screw
pull the plastic piece up (you can use a flathead to unlock it or use brute force)
press the metal/plastic square piece on the front ridge of the panel.
hit it with a hammer towards the back, the side panel will slide.
smaller inner panel just pops off if you press down on the upper tabs and pull.

The metal Jura logo is just attached to the round plastic "lock". If you put two thumbs on the logo and turn, then you unlock the round plastic disc without taking the metal logo off.

      Yup, this supposedly works.
Still, mine was impossible to disengage manually. Hence why I had to use a screwdriver to rotate it.
Seems to turn easily in the video but that's only because I've done it multiple times before.

nothing like a freshly brewed cup of Joe before you start your day, at least that is what is the cliche says (a little dry humor); and I couldn't agree more. Very nifty hack - that'll work as described. One time I had to beat the sheeit out of a piece of metal to get it to oval, but in the end it worked. the last time I had to make one - I bowed to the Jura because I couldn't find my preform jura tool. I needed my Joe and had no time to mess around - I eventually went on line and bought one from eBay - by some company called newelectronx. i was getting tired of banging my thumb anyways. (again a little more dry humor). thanks for sharing the video

I have the same problem with the ENA 3, can't get the side panel off. Followed directions in the video and like James did and hit it with the hammer and still the side panel remains in tact.

Thanks. I have Ena 5. Got as far as the bit where you hit it with a hammer but can't get side panel off. Anyone know it this is different?

Horrible company. Would never buy a machine from them again.
