Fantastic, i have a bottle of this in a balistoil gun care cleaning kit, but never worked out how to use it .
This will change now and i can see the shiny bolts on my TDR and Regal getting a make (bluing) over , as well as any other bright reflective parts . Thank you once again

Question…… I used this kit last night to blue some parts, pretty straight forward and looked amazing with fresh oil on it.
Checked on it this morning and it seems to have lightened in colour. Was deep black but now is more blue.
Why is this? Do I need to do another coat? Did the oil have something to do with it?
    Thanks for any info.

    Hello
I noticed that you were holding the part with bare hands, I think you're supposed to hold it with a clean cloth as we exude oils through our pores..
I found that using cotton wool balls was the easiest to use to apply the liquid as it soaks in rather than trying to run off.
    How did the reblue age??
I did three airgun actions, They turned out superb but after three months, They faded to grey :( They hadn't been touched since the application either..

aflatminor yes you’re correct and the first to spot it. I normally use surgical gloves.

The problem with these cold blues is they offer little to no rust protection, they wear off rather quickly and can become blotchy or look uneven over time. Slow rust bluing is easy, but takes more time and requires more patience and the ability to boil water and use degreased steel wool to card the metal. It is infinitely superior to cold blue and offers excellent rust protection and durability. Cold blue is something I use for touch up, but use other methods to blue gun parts or entire guns.

I used to when using Perma Blue mate but this doesn't need it, it's a really good product.

    Hi Geordie
How did the blueing hold up after time?
I did three actions some years ago (BSA Airsporter mk1, HW35e and Airsporter Stutzen) Using Ballistol Klever blue, All three came out beautiful dark blue, They were put away for three months and when I came to get them out to rebuild them, I was shocked to find they had turned to a grey colour :(

Have you tried heating the part first? Say like using a hair drier to heat up?
